The Building Construction Products division at Caterpillar is a global organization responsible for design, manufacturing, and support of Caterpillar's line of small, versatile, construction equipment and Work Tools. The Sanford, NC facility manufactures CatR Compact-Track-Loaders (CTL's).
If you have the initiative and the right experience, skills, and abilities, we have an excellent career opportunity for you to join our Compact-Track-Loader team as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this role you will lead and develop a diverse team to safely achieve quality, velocity, and cost goals.
Specifically in this role you can expect to:
Collaborate with key stakeholders in Safety, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Facilities, Fabrications, Logistics and Operations to safely optimize the end-to-end value chain to grow operating profit in the markets we serve.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in support of the CTL manufacturing lines.
Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions and monitor improvements.
Manage and lead a team of high performing Engineers and Process Planners to design an efficient process to safely build CTLs per the industry demand signal.
Support the CTL/SSL value stream with standard work, detailed work instructions, manufacturing processes and manufacturing execution systems.
Manage short-term and long-term projects for the CTL/SSL assembly value stream.
To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic qualifications):
A 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in an Engineering related discipline.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a high velocity manufacturing environment.
Experience with AutoCAD
Working knowledge of standard assembly tools and their applications
Prior Supervision experience.
Significant experience with Microsoft Office or Office 365.
Top candidates will also bring:
A bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or
At least 3 years' project management experience.
At least 3 years' experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.
Work experience in Assembly, Fabrications, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Quality.
Work experience with the NPI cycle.
Significant experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
Significant experience developing standard work, manufacturing execution systems, and time studies.
