The Building Construction Products division at Caterpillar is a global organization responsible for design, manufacturing, and support of Caterpillar's line of small, versatile, construction equipment and Work Tools. The Sanford, NC facility manufactures CatR Compact-Track-Loaders (CTL's).

If you have the initiative and the right experience, skills, and abilities, we have an excellent career opportunity for you to join our Compact-Track-Loader team as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this role you will lead and develop a diverse team to safely achieve quality, velocity, and cost goals.

Specifically in this role you can expect to:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in Safety, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Facilities, Fabrications, Logistics and Operations to safely optimize the end-to-end value chain to grow operating profit in the markets we serve.

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in support of the CTL manufacturing lines.

  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions and monitor improvements.

  • Manage and lead a team of high performing Engineers and Process Planners to design an efficient process to safely build CTLs per the industry demand signal.

  • Support the CTL/SSL value stream with standard work, detailed work instructions, manufacturing processes and manufacturing execution systems.

  • Manage short-term and long-term projects for the CTL/SSL assembly value stream.

To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic qualifications):

  • A 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in an Engineering related discipline.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a high velocity manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Working knowledge of standard assembly tools and their applications

  • Prior Supervision experience.

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office or Office 365.

Top candidates will also bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or

  • At least 3 years' project management experience.

  • At least 3 years' experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.

  • Work experience in Assembly, Fabrications, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Quality.

  • Work experience with the NPI cycle.

  • Significant experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.

  • Significant experience developing standard work, manufacturing execution systems, and time studies.
