Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs, required
Four (4) years or more Relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A,preferred
All other certification as required by location, required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform all T3 tasks
Must have demonstrated advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Must have basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be available to work shift work/weekends and on call duty as required
Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
Required to operate shop computers and diagnostic test equipment proficiently
Must have minimum tool requirement
Must road test vehicles as necessary
Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/influence others
This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:

Responsibilities
SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix. (completed within 365days)
Complete Instructor led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix.
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
Performs standard vehicle maintenance
Performs preventive maintenance
Performs complex repairs with minimal (if any) support.
Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal (if any) support, utilizing diagnostic computers/software when applicable.
Performs remote triage to with RCRC and customers to determine best solution to assist roadside breakdowns.
Performs facility maintenance duties
Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
Instructs and advises other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
Coaches/Mentors other level technicians
Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support.

Position Summary
The Senior Ops Manager manages the operations and personnel for locations with approximately 575 truck units comprised of one or more locations. Roles including Operations Managers, Technicians-In-Charge, and/or Customer Service Coordinators, as well as Technicians, Service Employees and/or a Parts Responsible Person report to you and are there to support the needs of the assigned location. The Senior Operations Manager must be able to accomplish results through the effective delegation of work and responsibilities, thus ensuring business objectives and labor requirements are met. Senior Ops Managers are responsible for ensuring that financial requirements are being met while balancing the needs of the customers against the requirements of the business. Essential Functions
Operations Management:Responsible for the oversight of work analysis, vehicle planning and scheduling, scheduling and assigning work to technicians, productivity tracking and optimization, shift and shop meetings, and RO review and approval.Performs complex strategic Labor Planning by evaluating incoming work and allocating resources, balancing shift schedules, establishing operating hours, and level loading workload to maximize efficiency and productivity.Responsible for optimizing labor at the shop, and ensuring the optimal mix of straight time, O/T and Outside Repair.Responsible for optimizing shift patterns to match supply of qualified tech hours versus the availability of equipment based upon customer operating hours.Oversee the execution of the Workflow Management process.
Labor Management:Provides leadership, training, development and oversight to a self-directed management team assigned to the branch (es) to include the Operations Manager, Operations Supervisors, Technicians In Charge, Customer Service Coordinators and Technicians.Responsible for Performance Management of all assigned personnel.Responsible for successful development and execution of the Technical Training Plan in coordination with the Field Training Team. Ensure TOPS plan is prioritized based upon Breakdown, Rework and Running Cost trends.Evaluates and makes recommendations for future staffing based on changes to the business environment.Responsible for Recruiting, Hiring, On-boarding, Payroll, and Succession Planning.
Customer Management:Directly responsible for customer relationship management to include issue resolutions, customer satisfaction, and retention, as well as ensuring uptime.Responsible for optimizing vehicle maintenance cycle time and ensuring that the shop meets or exceeds Delivered in Time Promised objectives based upon customer requirements.Oversight to ensure successful execution of the Customer Communication Protocol.Partner with the Sales Team to ensure proper scoping of prospective new business opportunities and identify opportunities for growth within existing customer base.Collaborate with Sales Team to develop the service requirement section of the Customer Care Plan to ensure effective delivery of service.Conduct customer visits and Annual Reviews as required by the Customer Care Plan.Responsible for Customer Retention and Maintenance CSI through optimal execution of the Maintenance Promise.
Financial Management:Develop and manage budgets as well as implementing cost control measures related to maintenance operations budget and location P&L statement to meet short and long term financial goals.Directly responsible for successful execution of Maintenance Initiatives to attain or exceed specified financial targets.Responsible for the optimization of net maintenance cost per unit.Work with vendor sourcing group to identify potential and preferred vendors for specific facilities and vehicle maintenance services. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of third-party invoices and the quality of worked outsourced to vendors.Oversight and exception management of Payroll, Purchase Order approval and invoice reconciliation, and fuel reconciliation.Responsible for the successful execution of the customer bill back process to include identification, review and approval of bill back opportunities. Responsible for ensuring proper documentation and explanation/ reporting of re-billable activity.Responsible for the successful execution of the Warranty process and maximizing warranty recovery.Ensure data integrity in the Shop Management Online system.
Asset Management:Directs his/her management team in order to maintain the appearance and maintenance of assigned locations, including sustaining 6S standards throughout the shop.Responsible for the execution of Asset Management initiatives at the shop level.Prepares business case for Capital Expenditures.Prioritize and approve shop tooling and equipment requirements based on needs and scope.Management and oversight of vehicle specifications and vehicle in-service/out-service process.Provide expert insight during business unit asset management review.Ensure all vehicles have required specifications in SAM.Oversight of Parts Inventory management, policies and procedures
Quality Management:Performs complex quality planning by developing corrective action and counter measures to operational quality issues.Oversight and/or execution of Quality Inspection of PM & repairs, as well as In Process Reviews of non-PM work.Maintain control/visibility over shop floor activities to ensure proper root cause diagnosis by technicians and that the yield on all parts/components is optimized.Responsible for all Mandatory Compliance items at the Shop Level as identified on the Quality Review inspection list.Accountable for all Quality Metrics within the Shop.Lead breakdown root cause analysis, implement corrective actions locally, and when necessary, communicate issues to Technical Assistance Center.Develop and ensure implementation of Quality Assurance Audit Corrective Action plans and Continuous Improvement programs.Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace and providing guidance for all safety efforts and initiatives.Ensure Cleanliness and quality of repair for all maintained vehicles.Accountable for maintenance of all relevant documentation required to meet and/or exceed local, state, federal, as well as customer requirementsComply with Safety and EPA regulations and requirements

Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix. (completed within 365days)
Complete Instructor led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix.
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
Performs standard vehicle maintenance
Performs preventive maintenance
Performs complex repairs with minimal (if any) support.
Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal (if any) support, utilizing diagnostic computers/software when applicable.
Performs remote triage to with RCRC and customers to determine best solution to assist roadside breakdowns.
Performs facility maintenance duties
Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
Instructs and advises other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
Coaches/Mentors other level technicians
Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available

Interact with customer, exhibit account management skills to independently facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates with customer. Coordinate work schedule as required by customers. Road test vehicles to identify cause of complaints for repairs, ensure quality of repair work performed, and deliver customer satisfaction. Preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs responsibilities include but is not limited to:
A/C & Heater: Operate the system and recognize if the system is cooling or not (PM related); Perform system checks such as power to compressor, visual inspection of condenser, belt tension, etc; Identify Freon and oil leaks

Charging Systems (electrical): Visually inspect batteries; Clean connections; Check condition of belts; Test batteries; Check alternator mounting and pulley; Replace and adjust belts; Perform basic charging system check
Clutch: Lubricate throw-out bearing, linkage, shafts, and cables; Identify proper clutch operation; Identify proper clutch brake operation
Cooling Systems: Check and adjust coolant levels; Visually inspect system for leaks; Make minor repairs such as hose replacements, fan shrouds, leaking fittings; Recognize permanent antifreezes and their requirements; Use refractometer; Use pressure tester; Flush and refill systems
Cranking System (electrical): Inspect and test batteries; Visually inspect cables and cranking motor; Clean the battery cables, connections and starter; Replace batteries; Charge and check batteries; Replace or repair defective cables
Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Repair minor wiring problems; Replace bulbs, lenses and simple light assemblies; Repair minor lighting problems; Replace and adjust sealed beams; Install or replace accessories such as heated mirrors, fans, spotlights
Drive Axles: Inspect housings for leaks; Change oil and filter, if required, and clean breathers

Responsibilities
Interact with customer, exhibit account management skills to independently facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates with customer.
Coordinate work schedule as required by customers. Road test vehicles to identify cause of complaints for repairs, ensure quality of repair work performed, and deliver customer satisfaction.
Preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs responsibilities include but is not limited to:
A/C & Heater: Operate the system and recognize if the system is cooling or not (PM related); Perform system checks such as power to compressor, visual inspection of condenser, belt tension, etc; Identify Freon and oil leaks
Brakes-Air: Identify components of air brake system; Operate brakes and identify irregular noises, air leaks; Perform simple air system tests; Measure lining thickness; Adjust brakes; Perform air brake sections of P.M.; Measure drums, rotors, cam bushings Perform brake repairs per BA 298 once trained and qualified

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
Valid Forklift Operator's License certified
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to be a team player and able to work within a diverse work environment
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)Able to work within a diverse work environment
Highly thorough and dependable
Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
Performs work independently with minimal supervision
Possesses a high degree of initiative
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure

Responsibilities
Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
Performs other duties as assigned.
