POSITION SUMMARY

Pharmacy technician trainees work in a learning capacity and assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technician trainees work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Individuals with an Ohio technician trainee or Michigan temporary technician license are enrolled in a recognized technician training program or are in the process of transferring their license from another state. Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Tasks are assigned according to Ohio or Michigan Board of Pharmacy restrictions as noted in OAC 4729:3-3-01 and Public Health Code 333.17739. Collaborates with team members in meeting department goals. Establishes and maintains mechanisms for communication and constructive problem solving with staff. Utilizes a team approach in decision-making and problem solving. Builds trust and mutual respect. Provides proper notification for absences and tardiness. Maintains professional, helpful, and courteous relationships with nursing and other hospital employees, patients, and their families. Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and responsible manner. Supports the department in providing a vision for its direction and embraces the change process to achieve the vision. Fosters the culture of patient safety by using the error prevention techniques. Communicates effectively orally and in writing within department as well as to all external customers. Strives for continuous improvement by focusing on key department systems. Participates in creating an environment for success through team participation.

Scope of Service:

Chronic Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, Atrial and Ventricular Arrhythmias, Pre and post Stent, PPM Insertion, and ICD Insertion. This unit also takes intermediate overflow patients as needed.

Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred Current State license as a Registered Nurse 1 year of experience as an RN Current CPR / BLS Certification Specialty certifications as required for the department

**RNs for this unit will be required to obtain ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification if not already obtained

Performs routine and special blood specimen collection for all age specific patients.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Repairs and maintains the off-site properties and equipment and assists in the organization's compliance to rules and codes set forth by regulatory agencies, such as Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, etc. This position is a decision maker for Facility Services, responsible for the operations, repair and maintenance of all equipment for all off-site properties and the continuous operation of the building during off-shifts and weekends. Ensure the off-site properties have an aesthetically appealing environment for patients, visitors and associates by direct responsibility for all off-site properties during regular, off-shift and weekends.

Primary Duties

Performs diagnostic, preventive, emergency and final repairs on all equipment/systems including, but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, steam, pneumatics, refrigeration, medical gas and controls, irrigation systems, fire protection systems, roofing systems, landscaping, storm and sanitary sewer systems, parking lots, plaster and wall covering repairs and equipment transport and set-up. Troubleshoot problems, both within and out of the normal sphere of responsibility, works in other maintenance areas and as requested. Responds to emergency situations on weekend and varied shifts. Handles major problems alone by making emergency repairs or calling in the appropriate contractor. Responsible for purchasing all materials/labor for all preventive maintenance/repairs and completion of all appropriate paper work. Acquire cost estimates from contractors. Maintains areas of responsibility in a neat and orderly manner, including cleaning and general housekeeping. Works daily in accordance with departmental guidelines as it relates to the operation of the off-site properties. Required to work outside in all weather conditions. Communicates with administrative staff and associates in their area as it pertains to emergency situations throughout the off-site properties. Completes and submits daily paperwork, prioritizes and schedules all work. Maintains an adequate, up-to-date record of all repairs and work in progress throughout the off-site properties. Participates and promotes continuous quality improvement. Performs other duties as assigned

Special Duties

Maintains all off-site properties as they relate to all trades and disciplines on normal and varied shifts, which are indirectly supervised. Involved in the Fire and Disaster Programs at all off-site properties and must respond to assigned calls of emergency nature and provide assistance as required to the physical function of each property. Coordinate set-up/start-up of new or existing properties/businesses. Required to work 24-hour on-call weekends for off-site properties.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Requires high proficiencies in at least one trade with at least four (4) years' experience in maintenance, preferably at the Toledo Hospital or eight (8) years certified related maintenance experience. Must be able to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams. Must be willing to learn new skills. Must be able to move between off-site properties. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer. Must be able to tolerate exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes, electrical voltage and temperature changes, and work at heights at 20% of the time; and differentiate between colors. The Department of Radiation Oncology at ProMedica Cancer Institute has a long history of providing exceptional patient care at multiple community locations within Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The Radiation Oncology Program is accredited by the American College of Radiology and offers comprehensive radiation oncology services. This position will be focused in our metro region and will be at both Flower Hospital in Sylvania OH and the ProMedica Cancer Center on the campus of Levis Commons in Perrysburg OH.

Our team consists of 7 Radiation Oncologists and 2 Advanced Practice Providers. They work closely with a dynamic caring staff to promote the mission of -exceptional cancer care close to home.-

The position currently consists of four 10-hour shifts through the traditional Monday-Friday work week. On-call and Holidays are not currently part of the routine schedule.

Main duties consist of the following:

Collaborate with Radiation Oncologist on the care and management of oncology patients Provide health assessments, follow-up care and surveillance to patients that are receiving / have received radiation therapy as part of their cancer treatment plan. Complete inpatient consultation services to initiate coordination with the Radiation Oncology Physicians. Registers surgical specimens in laboratory computer system. Assists during FNA or other specimen collection events, as needed. Performs frozen section specimen management and slide preparation for the pathologist. May travel to alternate sites to assist.

ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Accessions surgical specimens which include entering patient demographics, clinical history, specimen source and quality assurance information to laboratory information system. Labels specimen containers, patient requisitions, cassettes, and slides with assigned accession number with a high degree of accuracy. 2. Performs all routine tissue and/or frozen section preparation, slide preparation and staining using established departmental policies and procedures. 3. Supports hospital procedures which require the presence of a histology technician, including FNAs, Bone Marrows, EUS, EBUS, Renal and muscle biopsies, and other areas where needed. Periodically assists at other ProMedica Locations; travel required. 4. Accepts telephone calls pertaining to specimens and calls from other departments and doctor's offices. Transfers telephone calls to appropriate section if knowledge is limited. Communicates concerns to appropriate associates maintaining patient confidentiality. Utilizes the phone to contact physicians 'offices regarding patient information and specimen preparation. 5. Utilizes laboratory and hospital computer information systems to accession, and order specimens received and track surgical specimens. 6. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel. Maintains instrumentation/equipment. 7. Performs quality control procedures established in the laboratory. 8. Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. 9. Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies by attending mandatory in-services and continuing laboratory education and participating in continuous quality improvement. 10. POSITION SUMMARY

Perform clinical pharmacy duties under the direction of the Lead Clinical Pharmacist (if applicable). Assists and supports the development, implementation and management of clinical pharmacy services. Provides clinical consultation and clarification to emergency department practitioners; recommends evidence-based medication therapy regimens and monitoring plans; suggests appropriate cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed. Monitors medication therapy regimens for allergies, contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, drug-laboratory interactions, adverse drug reactions, appropriateness of drug and dose and therapeutic duplications. Provides accurate, adequate and timely drug information to professional staff. Works collaboratively with clinical pharmacy specialists, clinical staff pharmacists, emergency department physicians, advanced practice providers, medical residents, nurses and case management. Attends and participates in the provision of medication therapy services during emergency response scenarios, including but not limited to cardiac arrest, rapid sequence intubation, trauma alerts, and stroke alerts. Facilitates proper information transfer with regard to medication use for patients admitted to the hospital from the emergency department. Provides patient specific medication use teaching for discharge medications when appropriate. Focus on cost avoidance and cost savings due to medication use in the Emergency Department. Supports the development and implementation of treatment guidelines, policies, disease management protocols, formulary reviews, and critical pathways as approved by appropriate committees. Participates in providing didactic and experiential training for pharmacy students and pharmacy residents. Prepares and reports medication use evaluations, adverse drug reactions, and medication error findings to department leadership. Maintains awareness of contemporary trends in emergency medicine through the professional literature and regular attendance at professional organization meetings, institutes and seminars. POSITION SUMMARY

Pharmacy technician trainees work in a learning capacity and assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technician trainees work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. ACCOUNTABILITIES

Individuals with an Ohio technician trainee or Michigan temporary technician license are enrolled in a recognized technician training program or are in the process of transferring their license from another state.
