A Patient Care Tech (PCT), under the direction of licensed personnel, performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for a patient or a group of patients and performs clerical/receptionist services as required responsible for working a combination of nights, weekends, and holidays. The PCT will assist nursing/medical personnel in all areas while complying with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice in conjunction with all members of the healthcare team. Understands level of independent practice and performs specific duties with appropriate supervision. Demonstrates professionalism and understands/abides by ProMedica's mission, vision and values in all interactions with patients, visitors, and co-workers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e.: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric), coordinated by licensed personnel. 2. Collects patient data as directed. Recognizes and reports any changes or deviations from routine to licensed nursing personnel, including abnormal vital signs, symptoms, condition changes, patient events, and patient responses to treatment. 3. Delivers appropriate direct patient care, pursuant to the patient's needs, as assigned. 4. Assists with one-on-one patient observation as needed. 5. Functions as an active member of the healthcare team conducting self in accordance with hospital safety policy, with strict adherence to confidentiality of all information about patients. Consistently follows customer service standards while maintaining a cooperative team relationship with others. 6. Assists in providing clerical support including but not limited to: answering phones, copying, stocking of supplies and chart forms, maintaining adequate unit and patient room supplies. 7. Demonstrates basic competency for electronic medical record documentation according to job responsibilities. 8. Performs any other job-related duties as indicated. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Skills: - Must have basic math skills, ability to read and write, and communicate or respond to inquiries. - Requires effective interpersonal skills while maintaining a professional manner. - Ability to carry out verbal instruction. - Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer. Position Summary

Our Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Great customer service and a friendly can-do attitude will ensure your success. Our techs are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and common areas throughout the Toledo Hospital campus within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and a positive patient experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas. Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use. Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety. Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics. Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion. Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling. Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE). Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).

Practices critical thinking skills. Demonstrates personal accountability and shows appropriate respect to co-workers, patients and visitors. Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure problems or concerns are followed through and resolved. Demonstrates knowledge of facility safety requirements. Demonstrates the ability to operate and properly maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment. Demonstrates flexibility with regards to daily work assignment and assigned tasks. May be asked to assist with on-boarding and peer-training of new Environmental Technicians. Requires attention to detail, ability to follow written and verbal directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to move about the hospital and between workstations. Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to operate and utilize pagers, vacuums, putty knives, carts and trash mobiles. Education/Certifications/Licenses

High School Diploma desired/preferred. Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired/preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to clients during non-emergency transports.

Accountabilities:

Supports and adheres to the State of Ohio, Michigan, ProMedica Health System and ProMedica Transportation Network policies and procedures. Maintain PTN vehicles in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness. Document checks of PTN vehicles and equipment every shift. Practices within their scope of practice as defined by the appropriate State certification and shall be accountable for their actions. Provide a safe, therapeutic and efficient patient care environment through collaboration with other disciplines. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Must be a certified EMT-B in the state of Ohio. Michigan licensure must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Must be CPR certified. Must maintain a good driving record as required by PTN and PHS. The Paramedic/PTN functions on an ambulance performing prehospital emergency responses and interfacility transports normally as the senior member of a two person care team. POSITION SUMMARY Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to clients during non-emergency transports.

Accountabilities:

Supports and adheres to the State of Ohio, Michigan, ProMedica Health System and ProMedica Transportation Network policies and procedures. Maintain PTN vehicles in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness. Document checks of PTN vehicles and equipment every shift. The Paramedic/PTN functions on an ambulance performing prehospital emergency responses and interfacility transports normally as the senior member of a two person care team. When paired with a EMT-B, the Paramedic would be responsible to direct the care of the patient and delegate as appropriate for the scope of practice. The two person care team is responsible to assess and apply appropriate medical treatment protocols to care for the patient. The Paramedic directly reports to the Operations Manger which handles non-clinical job performance items. The Paramedic provides patient care under the authority of the Medical Director and reports to the Clinical Manager for clinical care issues.

Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to ill or injured patients in prehospital or intrahospital setting.
