ProMedica Flower Hospital is located in Sylvania OH, a suburb of Toledo, OH. The Flower Hospital campus is a 311-bed facility that houses the Hickman Cancer Center, ER Trauma Center, and is the regional leader for inpatient adult psychiatric services. The campus includes our hospice facility, the Ebeid Center.
A Patient Care Tech (PCT), under the direction of licensed personnel, performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for a patient or a group of patients and performs clerical/receptionist services as required responsible for working a combination of nights, weekends, and holidays. The PCT will assist nursing/medical personnel in all areas while complying with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice in conjunction with all members of the healthcare team. Understands level of independent practice and performs specific duties with appropriate supervision. Demonstrates professionalism and understands/abides by ProMedica's mission, vision and values in all interactions with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e.: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric), coordinated by licensed personnel. 2. Collects patient data as directed. Recognizes and reports any changes or deviations from routine to licensed nursing personnel, including abnormal vital signs, symptoms, condition changes, patient events, and patient responses to treatment. 3. Delivers appropriate direct patient care, pursuant to the patient's needs, as assigned. 4. Assists with one-on-one patient observation as needed. 5. Functions as an active member of the healthcare team conducting self in accordance with hospital safety policy, with strict adherence to confidentiality of all information about patients. Consistently follows customer service standards while maintaining a cooperative team relationship with others. 6. Assists in providing clerical support including but not limited to: answering phones, copying, stocking of supplies and chart forms, maintaining adequate unit and patient room supplies. 7. Demonstrates basic competency for electronic medical record documentation according to job responsibilities. 8. Performs any other job-related duties as indicated. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Skills: - Must have basic math skills, ability to read and write, and communicate or respond to inquiries. - Requires effective interpersonal skills while maintaining a professional manner. - Ability to carry out verbal instruction. - Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer. Years of Experience: N/A License: N/A Certification: Must have CPR certification prior to performing direct care; training provided.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Years of Experience: Previous experience in a medical setting. Certification: CNA, STNA, MA, EKG, CPT, ARRT
WORKING CONDITIONS Personal Protective Equipment: As required by department. Physical Demands: - Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing. - Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry light to medium weight materials. - Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Scope of Service: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred Current State license as a Registered Nurse 1 year of experience as an RN Current CPR / BLS Certification Specialty certifications as required for the department
**RNs for this unit will be required to obtain ACLS Certification

Position Summary
Our Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Great customer service and a friendly can-do attitude will ensure your success. Our techs are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and common areas throughout the Toledo Hospital campus within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and a positive patient experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas. Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use. Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety. Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics. Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion. Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling. Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE). Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
Practices critical thinking skills. Demonstrates personal accountability and shows appropriate respect to co-workers, patients and visitors. Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure problems or concerns are followed through and resolved. Demonstrates knowledge of facility safety requirements. Demonstrates the ability to operate and properly maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment. Demonstrates flexibility with regards to daily work assignment and assigned tasks. May be asked to assist with on-boarding and peer-training of new Environmental Technicians. Requires attention to detail, ability to follow written and verbal directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to move about the hospital and between workstations. Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to operate and utilize pagers, vacuums, putty knives, carts and trash mobiles. Ability to tolerate unpleasant odors and possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids; must be able to tolerate exposure to dust and chemicals. Ability to constantly move, lift or carry light to medium weight equipment furniture, etc. and occasionally move or lift heavy equipment or furniture. Must be able to wear N95 or PAPR hood. Stoop bend, reach, stretch, push and pull. Must be able to move and/or lift material and damp mops or towels weighing up to 10 lbs., 70% of the time; move carts weighing up to 40 lbs., 10% of the time; and move carts weighing up to 50 lbs., 20% of the time. Performs other duties as directed.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
High School Diploma desired/preferred. Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired/preferred.
Special Skills/ Equipment:
Can demonstrate effective use of computers and/or mobile devices for daily job performance activities. Ability to read/write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred. Position Summary: A Critical Care Transport Nurse is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing safe, quality emergency medical and nursing care consistent with the American Nurses Association Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice and the philosophy and objectives of ProMedica. Position Summary: A Critical Care Transport Nurse is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing safe, quality emergency medical and nursing care consistent with the American Nurses Association Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice and the philosophy and objectives of ProMedica. The RN is responsible for not only the delivery of comprehensive nursing care, but also for the supervision of care delegated to other members of the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN collaborates with the patient, family and other members of the health care team to formulate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the plan of care based on data collected from knowledge of the biological, physical, spiritual, behavioral, and psycho-social assessment of the patient. The Paramedic/PTN functions on an ambulance performing prehospital emergency responses and interfacility transports normally as the senior member of a two person care team. When paired with a EMT-B, the Paramedic would be responsible to direct the care of the patient and delegate as appropriate for the scope of practice. The two person care team is responsible to assess and apply appropriate medical treatment protocols to care for the patient. Position Summary:
The Patient Care Tech under direction of a registered nurse, performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for a patient or a group of patients and performs clerical/receptionist services as required. The PCT will assist nursing personnel in all areas while complying with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice in conjunction with all members of the healthcare team. Understands level of independent practice and performs duties with appropriate supervision. Has a service oriented attitude toward patients, physicians, families, and coworkers.
High School Diploma or GED STNA Certification required Notary Public designation for completion of birth certificates - can obtain after hire CPR Certification Flexibility to float to other departments within hospital as needed
