IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER (STORAGE)
SpaceX is looking for an experienced engineer with deep working knowledge of storage technologies. This employee will be a member of the Information Technology Infrastructure team and will provide expertise in all aspects of storage in support of critical business functions. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast paced and challenging environment. They should be a self-starter, self-motivator, and possess ingenuity to excel at this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the design, development and implementation of a custom S3 compatible object store solution that will span thousands of servers
Deploy, troubleshoot, and optimize off-the shelf S3 compatible object storage solution(s)
Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines
Monitor, maintain, and operate the production environment
Troubleshoot server hardware issues
Automate common tasks
On-call rotation with other team members, subject matter expertise in on-prem object storage solutions
Write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms (common languages)
Physical installation of hardware may be required at various times
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, computer information systems, or STEM discipline and 3+ years of IT systems engineering experience OR 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering without a degree
Experience with S3 compatible object storage (i.e. Ceph)
Experience with client and server hardware/software, management tools, enterprise networking, virtualization, and security technologies
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated experience designing, documenting, and implementing complex multi-tiered cost-effective storage deployments
Experience collaborating with Windows, Linux, and network engineers and developers
Experience gathering system usage and performance data for reporting and trending
Storage capacity planning, vendor management and procurement
A strong desire to automate everything
Ability to clearly communicate and convey highly technical ideas in terms non-geeks can understand
A motivated self-starting personality, able to work independently while maintaining patience with constant interruptions and multiple requests
Comfortable working with mission critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities

As a seasoned Cinematographer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in elevating the quality of our video content. INVENTORY SPECIALIST (STARLINK)
This Inventory Specialist position supports the Starlink product factory. As Starlink continues to grow, we are expanding our inventory operation specifically for Starlink products. An inventory specialist is responsible for completing putaways for inbound material, picking products for production, filling the lineside build locations with material, putting finished goods into inventory, picking finished goods for customer orders, and ensuring inventory accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive, store and issue raw materials, parts, details, and hardware to support shop operations
Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying parts and stored location
Perform picking function to make up necessary kits of parts, material, and hardware as required, ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in kit
Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with procedures
Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock
Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity and, revisions
Issue material against approved paperwork such as affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing
Fulfill orders for both domestic and international consumers and enterprises
Validate lot trace
Perform cycle counts
Perform good housekeeping chores in area
Support the organization's metric goals and objectives
Abide by all procedures, desk instructions, and standard operating documents
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
1+ years of inventory control experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
Experience operating a forklift and other related inventory equipment
Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields

Responsible for all aspects of successfully closing partnership deals between SpaceX and retail partners including product/pricing/business discussions and negotiations

As an Avionics Development Technician you would be joining a small team that supports PCBA rework with the highest grade of difficulty and harness repairs coming from a variety of our our Starlink Production Departments. VESSEL MANAGER (MARINE OPERATIONS)
SpaceX is looking for an experienced, dynamic and thoughtful leader to help manage fleet operations, crewing rotations, training, and vessel readiness through this principally shore-based role that will help ensure mission success in SpaceX's offshore recovery operations in the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fulfill infrequent offshore mission support as required to maintain mission continuity in the event of unusual circumstances
Help refine and audit readiness standards across the entire SpaceX marine operations fleet while supporting ongoing operations
Coordinate a demanding offshore recovery schedule by synchronizing across port scheduling, crewing, logistics, and other internal processes required to support offshore space hardware recovery
Support planning and maintenance of logistical support that support ongoing operations and ensure full-life support of the SpaceX fleet of vessels
Coordinate engineering changes required to support mission operations, including but not limited to: management of design change documentation, and coordination of testing and training
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
Merchant Mariner credential (MMC)
2+ years of professional experience working in a role that deals with examinations or licensing-efforts with US Coast Guard (USCG) and/or American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) regulations
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Current USCG Master Unlimited credential with Master of Towing, and DP certifications (or equivalent USN/USCG experience) with 5+ years sailing experience as Unlimited Master and/or Port Captain for several ships at once
Chief Engineer Unlimited credential
Dynamic positioning unlimited certification (DP2)
Bachelor's degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or other technical discipline
Current (non-expired) USCG license, and ability to pass relevant USCG examinations, federal facility background checks, re-certifications, and chemical testing
Knowledge of vessel management systems, safety management systems, and regulatory programs such as OPA 90, MARPOL, ABS classing, etc.
Willingness to sail, if needed to support off-shore missions depending on resources available
Willing to work outdoors and in maritime environments, and able to work flexible hours during mission support periods. This will be an active physical role
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership experience synchronizing complex operations
Exceptional teaming and organizational skills with a collaborative approach
Significant experience managing multiple vessel operations, crews, maintenance, logistical support, training, and planning

Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations as necessary; role may require travel
50-hour work week is typical, and may vary depending on site operational needs, flexibility is required

Pay range:
Vessel Manager: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pick, lift, organize, and move standard hardware, raw material, purchased parts, machined details, and assemblies to support inventory control for the F9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft production at Cape Canaveral Launch Site
Assemble racks, look for parts, organize supplies, and any other tasks directed by inventory control lead and manager
Perform picking function to create necessary kits of parts, material, and hardware as required and ensure that all parts are accounted for and available in kits
Frequently use forklift and other machinery to transport large material on site
Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with good practice/procedures
Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock
Perform daily cycle counts
Effectively utilize ERP system
POSITION DETAILS:
This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.
