Basic Function:
Entry level position responsible for completing a variety of tasks in support of field operations to include deactivation of service, delayed match, corrosion inspections, meter paints, reading meters and assisting with other maintenance activities as needed. Serves as a member of a crew engaged in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines. Performs basic tasks including operating heavy equipment, using hand tools, basic leak investigation, assisting in mechanical joining, landscape maintenance and traffic control. Performs meter reading, ERT installations and ERT programming in conjunction Automated Meter Reading duties. This is a bargaining unit position (IBEW Local 1997). This position will have an automatic progression pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
Actively and accurately captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal and recognizes abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion, meters under stress, etc.
Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.
Assists in conducting investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters and special readings by meter reading validation.
Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.
Responds to questions from customers and provides answers directly or by referral.
Provide assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system to include:
Operating basic equipment and tools
Traffic control
Landscaping and general maintenance
Digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing and wrapping pipes
Pressure recording devices
Uses a variety of tools (hand, air, shovels, etc.) while performing distribution crew activities.
Ensures truck is stocked with equipment, supplies, tools and other equipment in neat and orderly condition.
Operates Automated Dispatch system to complete meter reads and turn-offs service at customer's premise.
Identifies abnormal operating conditions and takes appropriate actions.
Performs simple sniff tests to detect gas leaks.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Education, Certificate/Licenses:
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude
Basic knowledge and use of hand tools and equipment
Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments
Valid Driver's License
Preferred:

Basic Function:
Entry level position responsible for completing a variety of tasks in support of field operations to include deactivation of service, delayed match, corrosion inspections, meter paints, reading meters and assisting with other maintenance activities as needed. Serves as a member of a crew engaged in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines. Performs basic tasks including operating heavy equipment, using hand tools, basic leak investigation, assisting in mechanical joining, landscape maintenance and traffic control. Performs meter reading, ERT installations and ERT programming in conjunction Automated Meter Reading duties. This is a bargaining unit position (IBEW Local 1997). This position will have an automatic progression pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
Actively and accurately captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal and recognizes abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion, meters under stress, etc.
Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.
Assists in conducting investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters and special readings by meter reading validation.
Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.
Responds to questions from customers and provides answers directly or by referral.
Provide assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system to include:
Operating basic equipment and tools
Traffic control
Landscaping and general maintenance
Digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing and wrapping pipes
Pressure recording devices
Uses a variety of tools (hand, air, shovels, etc.) while performing distribution crew activities.
Ensures truck is stocked with equipment, supplies, tools and other equipment in neat and orderly condition.
Operates Automated Dispatch system to complete meter reads and turn-offs service at customer's premise.
Identifies abnormal operating conditions and takes appropriate actions.
Performs simple sniff tests to detect gas leaks.
Performs other job-related duties as required.

The (Sr.) Environmental Specialist will be part of the Environmental Affairs Department and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of planning, permitting, and on-going environmental compliance for Company facilities located in Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, and Virginia. Facilities include Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), propane peaking, underground natural gas storage, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), and other natural gas system assets. While a large proportion of the responsibilities will pertain to Federal and State air compliance regulations/permits related to the Clean Air Act (CAA), the position may also oversee other compliance activities associated with the Clean Water Act (CWA), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) rule, Emergency Planning & Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or -Superfund-). Job Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee, prepare, review, and submit permit applications and various environmental compliance reports. Develop compliance plans, calculating and reporting air emissions, monitoring compliance status and maintaining compliance records as required.
Serve as the Company's technical resource on air quality impact assessment and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses of industrial facility operations; major and minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level regulations (including Registration of Smaller Sources in IL); NESHAP, MACT compliance programs.
Develop and maintain a robust air compliance program. This includes program management as well as leading and directing outside consultants and ensuring environmental scope remains within budget.
Obtain annual SCG greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data and annual reporting via the EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) and collaborate with the Corporate Sustainability team on GHG data including obtaining data from various operating and accounting departments.
Plan and support execution of sampling, testing, modeling, and monitoring of regulated air pollutants.
Evaluate current and proposed environmental codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to determine and advise the Company on impacts to current and future business activities.
Evaluate compliance risks, permitting requirements, cost, and schedule associated with Company projects.
Prepare and/or manage semi-annual and annual air compliance reporting obligations (e.g., compliance certifications and annual emission reports).
Work closely with industry groups, peers, and Southern Company's Environmental Affairs team members surrounding air and other environmental compliance matters.
Interact with internal teams, clients, and regulators to steward impact assessments, permit application review and issuance.

This position is the key liaison with Supply Chain and Accounting on the department's engineering and construction projects. Project Management Support: The position works closely with the Project Developer/Manager, the -PM-, to ensure that all the record keeping, processing and reporting is performed both prior to a project being awarded as well as during construction through to closing. Summary
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Specialist carries out projects that support Georgia Power's commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Reporting to the DEI Manager, the Specialist will carry out a broad array of projects, but the primary focus will be in two areas: creating and facilitating DEI trainings and heading up a variety of creative DEI communications initiatives.
This is a full-time, salaried position. In-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday although there may be times when we shift days around to accommodate training and consulting for other teams.

DEI Training and Facilitation
The DEI team creates trainings on a wide range of DEI topics and delivers these to employees across the company both virtually and in-person.
Specialist will assist in the delivery of these trainings, so we are seeking a skilled, confident, and experienced facilitator who possesses deep knowledge of a variety of DEI subjects including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, veteran inclusion, intersectionality, social justice, psychological safety, and more. It's not enough to only know about the communities to which you belong; the DEI Specialist has a natural curiosity about others, is motivated to broaden their knowledge, and knows how to increase their cultural competency.
There may be opportunities to help develop DEI trainings and learning tools too, so experience in curriculum design for adult learners is a plus.
Communications
Approximately 60% of this role will involve heading up Georgia Power's internal DEI communications projects. The Specialist will design and write our monthly company-wide DEI newsletter - so the successful candidate will have excellent writing skills and be able to convey news and employees' stories in a clear, compelling way.
This role also involves maintaining our DEI intranet site and creating and formatting our quarterly DEI Toolboxes which include visually appealing, clear, concise training materials for our managers to use.
The Specialist will also support a new storytelling project, making and editing videos for internal use and creating accompanying discussion guides. Knowledge of accessibility in design and communications is desirable.
Education and Experience
3-5 years of experience working in diversity, equity, inclusion, or social justice in the non-profit, corporate, government, NGO, or higher education sectors.
Bachelor's Degree in humanities, social sciences, communications, or other liberal arts field is required.

Outstanding written communication skills with a track record of experience writing for a professional audience. Experience writing newsletter and website content is highly desirable.
Experience using Canva to create flyers, posters, and web graphics is preferred.
Highly proficient in using creative and accessible design principles to create engaging PowerPoint presentations and other visual aids.
Strong presentation and training skills; ability to convey complex topics in a relatable, sensitive, persuasive, and clear manner to audiences with varying levels of familiarity and comfort with DEI topics.

Entry level position responsible for completing a variety of tasks in support of field operations to include deactivation of service, delayed match, corrosion inspections, meter paints, reading meters and assisting with other maintenance activities as needed. Serves as a member of a crew engaged in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines. Performs basic tasks including operating heavy equipment, using hand tools, basic leak investigation, assisting in mechanical joining, landscape maintenance and traffic control. Performs meter reading, ERT installations and ERT programming in conjunction Automated Meter Reading duties. This is a bargaining unit position (IBEW Local 1997). This position will have an automatic progression pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
Actively and accurately captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal and recognizes abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion, meters under stress, etc.
Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.
Assists in conducting investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters and special readings by meter reading validation.
Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.
Responds to questions from customers and provides answers directly or by referral.
Provide assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system to include:
Operating basic equipment and tools
Traffic control
Landscaping and general maintenance
Digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing and wrapping pipes
Pressure recording devices
Uses a variety of tools (hand, air, shovels, etc.) while performing distribution crew activities.
Ensures truck is stocked with equipment, supplies, tools and other equipment in neat and orderly condition.
Operates Automated Dispatch system to complete meter reads and turn-offs service at customer's premise.
Identifies abnormal operating conditions and takes appropriate actions.

Job Summary:
This position will act as the initial contact with the customer, whether in the local business office or through telephone or online inquiries. The successful candidate must be ableto handle cashier responsibilities, bill inquiries, applications for service, non-pay reconnects, payment arrangements, billing adjustments, and promote products and services. The successful candidate should be knowledgeable of collection procedures. They must have the ability to engage with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.Applicant should be customer service oriented and must have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and possess strong initiative.
The successful candidate must be flexible and is expected to float between the Headland, Abbeville, and Eufaula offices as needed.
Responsibilities:
Receiving and greeting customers in the local office and/or over the phone or online
Processing payments and balancing cash funds:
Posting payments in CSS, processing Item 14 payments, daily balancing cash drawer and kiosk
Assisting customers with electrical service issues:
Connect/disconnect service, assessing deposits, outdoor lighting request, outage reporting, rate selection
Responding to customers with billing or collection inquiries:
Final bill collections, high bill explanations, payment arrangements, special agreements set-ups, transfer payments, issuing various meter investigation orders
Promoting and selling Alabama Power Company products and services:
Budget billing, flat bill, EFT, paperless billing, electric water heater conversions, All Connect transfers, Agency Assistance portal, landlord portal, OCC
Assisting customers with program requests:
Bill extender, summary billing, SSI, text messaging enrollments (billing and outage alerts)
Educating customers on ways to avoid/address service or payment issues in the future
Understands the meter reading process and billing cycle
Assisting with merchandise sales
Representing Alabama Power Company to customers in a positive manner
Experience:
Proven customer service experience
Cash handling experience preferred
Collection experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
