2+ years of commercial/industrial experience performing preventive maintenance on 500+kW generators and engines
Mechanically and electrically inclined
Willing to take Generator Assessment
Operational and functional understanding of ATS/switchgear, including troubleshooting skills.
~25% Overnight travel (varies by location)
Willing to work on call and OT as required.
Able to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screen.
Proficient using computers, including Microsoft Office and other software.
OEM Training, certification and/or EGSA certification a plus.
Generator Field Service Technician Physical DemandsTasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.

WORK LOCATION
This position will be located in either Birmingham, AL or Forest Park, GA (Metro Atlanta), however candidates living outside of the area may be considered with the expectation that they could successfully telework and would be willing to travel to work and field location on a routine (to be determined) and as-needed basis.
This position will require a mix of both field and office work.
Field work can include site visits to suppliers' shops and various work locations.
Some office work can be performed remotely (telework/work from home).
POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be managing surveillance programs for hydro, transmission, generation, retrofit, and gas projects. The initial assignment will be supporting Southern Company's Transmission projects. The Supplier Quality team maintains expertise in manufacturing, welding, coating inspection, and the practical use of quality systems. This expertise allows us to successfully perform quality surveillance of civil, mechanical, and electrical material and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication quality systems, an attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage project quality surveillance programs for Transmission products.
Hire and manage 3rd party inspectors to conduct inspections at supplier facilities.
Create and manage Project Quality Surveillance Plans (PQSP) for equipment (electrical, civil, mechanical).
Schedule and lead monthly update meetings and other project team meetings.
Communicate with project team members, internal customers, and external suppliers.
Develop surveillance estimates.
Ensure budget goals are managed and met.
Conduct quality and technical capability assessments of supplier manufacturing facilities.
Perform electrical, civil/structural, and mechanical surveillance at supplier facilities.
Perform inspections and determine acceptability of various equipment and material such as transmission line and substation products (poles, hardware, conductor, etc), structural steel, transformers, motors and pumps, and various other power delivery and generation equipment.
Review specifications for enforceability.
Review supplier's Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, building construction, or other relevant technical discipline is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate a plus.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple competing deadlines, activities, meetings, shop visits, and projects.
A working knowledge of shop operations including quality systems, procurement, equipment/material manufacturing, handling, and shipping required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to develop and grow relationships with customers required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure supplier compliance with requirements.
A working knowledge of applicable IEEE, IEC, ASME, ISO, AWS, NACE, ANSI, NESC, AISC, ASTM, ACI, and other codes and standards to ensure suppliers comply with specified technical and quality requirements.
Exhibit a strong understanding of quality culture, quality assurance, and quality control preferred.
Ability to obtain a passport is required.

Travel:
A moderate amount of travel will be required (approximately 50%), including both domestic and international, but the position generally does not involve weekend travel.

A professional Administrative Assistant to provide overall administrative support to the Director of Telecom Services within the Infrastructure Services Technology Organization. As an Administrative Assistant, will need to build a close partnership with the Director and the leadership team. Job Responsibilities
Maintain the Director's schedule and manage a complex, fluid calendar with forethought, proactively addressing scheduling conflicts in a timely manner
Primary timekeeper for all of Telecom Services in STARS timekeeping application
Serve as the first line of support for employee timekeeping questions, assistance, and resolving issues
Prepare monthly procurement card expense statements in Oracle iExpense for the Director and leadership team as well as assist associated staff with questions and issues.
Process Telecom Services invoices and resolve invoice disputes as needed
Make travel arrangements on behalf of the Director and leadership team
Plan and schedule a variety of meetings and events
Ensure compliance with Corporate Guidelines, General Accounting Procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives for all administrative responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be managing surveillance programs for hydro, transmission, generation, retrofit, and gas projects. The initial assignment will be supporting Southern Company's Transmission projects. The Supplier Quality team maintains expertise in manufacturing, welding, coating inspection, and the practical use of quality systems. This expertise allows us to successfully perform quality surveillance of civil, mechanical, and electrical material and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication quality systems, an attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage project quality surveillance programs for Transmission products.
Hire and manage 3rd party inspectors to conduct inspections at supplier facilities.
Create and manage Project Quality Surveillance Plans (PQSP) for equipment (electrical, civil, mechanical).
Schedule and lead monthly update meetings and other project team meetings.
Communicate with project team members, internal customers, and external suppliers.
Develop surveillance estimates.
Ensure budget goals are managed and met.
Conduct quality and technical capability assessments of supplier manufacturing facilities.
Perform electrical, civil/structural, and mechanical surveillance at supplier facilities.
Perform inspections and determine acceptability of various equipment and material such as transmission line and substation products (poles, hardware, conductor, etc), structural steel, transformers, motors and pumps, and various other power delivery and generation equipment.
Review specifications for enforceability.
Review supplier's Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, building construction, or other relevant technical discipline is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate a plus.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple competing deadlines, activities, meetings, shop visits, and projects.
A working knowledge of shop operations including quality systems, procurement, equipment/material manufacturing, handling, and shipping required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to develop and grow relationships with customers required.

The IT Supervisor, within Gas Technology Solutions will have the overall responsibility for leading a team of data and analytics technology resources. This data and analytics technical resource group will be responsible for helping to refine requirements, design and develop the golden record database, develop and implement the ETL process, and test and productionalize the data extract from various data sources to be ingested into the EDGE platform. This resource group will work closely with the rest of the GTS partners to understand, refine, designs and implement solutions. JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate, facilitate, and support day-to-day administrative field construction activities. Primary duties include:

Coordinate site document control activities

Job Responsibilities
Monitor and operate the distribution system through the current and future systems provided in Customer Operations. The current systems include, but are not limited to, DSCADA, TCMS (Current OMS System), ARMS III, DistGIS, ARCOS, Weather Services, DMIR, IFACTOR and CSS.
Write and execute switching orders for routine activities and emergency restoration. This includes coordinating the various switching clearances in compliance with the SDOP and all other procedures pertaining to switching of the Distribution system.
Direct the service restoration efforts for distribution outages through effective direction of SOCO and contract employees familiar with distribution restoration. This will also include effective switching through automated and manual devices.
Direct routine work and restoration through ARMS for the Electric Servicemen, Customer Servicemen, Local Town Personnel and other departments/employees that utilize ARMS.
Communicate outage information and take in the big picture to notify appropriate employees and management, including Distribution Operations, Divisions, and Corporate Communications of restoration progress and needs.
Ensure daily activities and procedures are completed in a safe, timely, and correct manner. This includes activities and procedures for Switching, TCMS, EMS, ARMS III, Daily Reports, Switch Board, Switching Calendar, and DMIR.
Ensure all Compliance and Security measures are maintained.
The incumbent is required to work a rotating shift and report to work outside of normal shift hours as needed.

Qualification Requirements
This position manages all Quality Control functions related to power generation systems at the DI Campus. This position is for experienced individuals responsible for the assembly and fabrication of switchgear. This position includes building the structure, wiring the back pan and doors, and assembling the bus and installation of the breakers. The focus of this position is the assembly of switchgear from the component level to completed product. This position includes the assembly of low voltage, medium voltage and controls panels. Senior Wiring and Switchgear Technicians can perform complex and difficult operations across a wide range of products. They can understand complex wiring schematics and guide a small team to complete necessary tasks. They possess the technical expertise to review design questions and wiring discrepancies working with engineering to come to the correct solution. They will also serve as trainers for the department.

JOB SUMMARY
This position will support plant maintenance and operations as subject matter expert for the bottom ash removal and transport systems. The position will be responsible to ensure strict adherence preventative maintenance programs and is responsible for all maintenance strategy related activities for the bottom ash systems. The bottom ash system owner is required to monitor daily reporting for equipment needs and to provide input on repair solutions to ensure equipment/process reliability. This position is responsible for coordination of onsite ash handling contractor and coordination of supporting contract resources for maintenance work. The bottom ash system owner is responsible for providing budget projections and working with plant financial analysts to ensure maintenance and capital plans are properly accounted for in the budget. Plant maintenance specialists may, at times, be subject to supporting additional areas of the plant if deemed necessary due to vacations, vacancies, and/or work load.

This role will be responsible for cost analysis, variance analysis and reporting for multiple levels of management, and assist in industry cost benchmarking initiatives to drive continuous improvement and economic sustainability.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors financial performance against plans, forecasts, and budgets
Support cost trend analysis to support monthly reporting process and annual budget process
Assist with industry cost benchmarking and analysis
Prepare financial presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Interact with and provide financial counsel to budget analysts across the organization, regarding accounting, budgeting, and other financial issues as well as resolving financial systems issues
Assist in system-wide efforts for budget and reporting applications improvements
Provide financial analysis and reporting support for operating stations, as needed

POSITION SUMMARY

GTS Quality Assurance Analyst - Operational Excellence
The Quality Assurance Analyst is a position on the Quality Assurance (QA) Team within Operational Excellence department of Gas Technology Services. Operational Excellence focuses on continuous improvement of operational performance and risk mitigation for Gas application architecture, data, and quality. The QA Team provides service offerings under a Center of Excellence operating model. Service offerings leverage repeatable, centralized processes to support business unit objectives via project delivery methodologies. This position can report into either the Atlanta, GA or Naperville, IL corporate offices. Occasional travel for collaborative meetings may be required.
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, have strong technical skills, be detail and process oriented, and thrive on problem solving in a fast-paced environment. At a high level, the position focuses on System Integration Test Planning & Text Execution which requires both functional knowledge and technical skills to plan and prepare for testing, execute the tests, and validate test results; and Baseline /Regression testing techniques which requires strong functional, technical, and analytical skills.
Test Planning responsibilities and deliverables include:
Author detailed test plans including definition of scenarios to be tested and test preparations needed including SQL's to validate data existence and to validate eventual test results. In addition to scenario and data planning, Test Planning includes determination of testing approach (including test planning for test automation), testing timelines, resources/estimates, the technical aspects of environment preparations, identification of batch execution scope & schedules, and identification of data management (backups/restore points).
Test Planning may require authoring test scripts (step by step test execution instructions, including the definition of expected test results)
Completion of Test Preparations may include identification of specific data to be used for testing, creation or edit of batch input files and/or update of test data to ensure breadth of data scenarios.
May be requested to review and provide input on Test Plans written by others
May be consulted on testing approach / testing techniques
May be consulted on SQL's / data analysis
May be consulted on job scheduling and job scheduling setup
Test Execution responsibilities and deliverables include:
Environment preparations, including data repairs and staging batch input files
Data Management including back-ups as certain point per the Test Plan & restores to repeat testing
Test Execution utilizing multiple testing techniques and tools
Verification of functional test plans and execution of tests with collaboration across teams and functional workgroups
Batch execution including defect creation for issues encountered and initial troubleshooting of any abends
Capture of testing metrics / SQL's / functional results - both Baseline & Regression
Utilization of various tools (advanced Excel functions, Beyond Compare) to compare Baseline / Regression metrics and/or flat files
Conduct discrepancy analysis to assess Baseline/Regression differences
Test Results deliverable preparation and presentation
Other responsibilities and deliverables include:
Periodic build of an Intelligent Testbed requires strong functional knowledge and SQL skills to enhance an existing suite of SQL's which identify the widest breadth of data scenarios within the leanest volume of data.
Data management practices utilizing multiple tools and techniques
Environment Management recommendations (planning environment setup to ensure DEV/TST environments represent production) including support for configuration management processes
Environment support, including working with other technical staff (like DBA's) to resolve issues

Education/Experience:
Required :
Bachelor's Degree is required, a degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related is preferred
10 years of IT applications related experience of which at least 7 years focused in SQA/Testing
Proven hands-on experience testing applications/platforms as well as utilization of test management tools
Proven experience with testing large scale, configurable, vendor applications
Proven experience authoring Test Plans for multiple types of testing stages
Proven experience testing using a variety of testing techniques including testing in both agile and waterfall methodologies, including but not limited to feature testing, system integration testing, and regression testing
Experience with Data Analysis to research Baseline / Regression discrepancies
Experience with developing, documenting, implementing, and improving processes

Education Requirements
Engineering degree preferred.
Professional Engineering license a plus.
MBA or Masters degree is a plus.

Three or more years of Distribution engineering experience in a power utility company preferred
Must have proven Time Management experience involving multiple projects and customer requests
Experience in SERP restoration efforts required

Experience with IBEW covered personnel, system design experience, and serving on committees at a statewide level is preferred.

Plant Vogtle has opportunities for a Nuclear Plant Instructor in the Maintenance and Technical Training organization. This opportunity lies within the Radiation Protection training program.
SUMMARY
The Nuclear Plant Instructor in the Maintenance and Technical Training organization is responsible for presenting and administering the Radiation Protection training program. The Nuclear Plant Instructor will design, conduct and evaluate classroom and laboratory instruction; develop training and examination materials; and process and maintain training records for the Radiation Protection training program. These activities are instrumental in maintaining the plant's INPO accreditation.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing lesson materials to be used in the training programs
- Conducting training sessions
- Determining training program effectiveness
- Maintaining plant training records
- Reviewing and maintaining training materials
- Conducting assessments, research, and evaluations as requested by the Technical Instructor Lead
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the overall training plan
- Supporting the line organization as requested during temporary outage assignments
- Managing the Radiation Protection training program to include class scheduling and timekeeping
- Assisting in Corrective Action Program (CAP) activities
- Working as a team member to support Radiation Protection training project workload with minimal supervision
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Science) preferred
- Completion of an accredited-based technical training program, or equivalent as evidenced by a certificate, diploma, transcript, apprentice program syllabus, and/or INPO accredited training program (records as available) is preferred.
Background/Experience Requirements
- 5 years of Radiation Protection experience preferred
- At least 3 years power plant experience desired
- Radiation Protection Technician and/or RP Supervisor experience preferred
- Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) experience preferred
- Previous experience as a Radiation Protection instructor preferred
- Understanding of and experience with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process, including relevant INPO ACAD requirements desired

The successful candidate will:
Own the Corrective Action Program.
Work schedule may include either 12 hour rotating shift or 12 hour rotating shift relief.
Observe maintenance workers and provide intervention and coaching to reinforce management expectations and positive behaviors.
Provide employees with regular feedback on performance, including coaching and intervention to reinforce expectations and develop acceptable behaviors.
Ensure activities are performed in accordance with approved written documents such as approved plant procedures and work order instructions.
