Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of commercial/industrial experience performing preventive maintenance on 500+kW generators and engines

• Mechanically and electrically inclined

• Willing to take Generator Assessment

• Operational and functional understanding of ATS/switchgear, including troubleshooting skills.

• ~25% Overnight travel (varies by location)

• Willing to work on call and OT as required.

• Able to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screen.

• Proficient using computers, including Microsoft Office and other software.

• OEM Training, certification and/or EGSA certification a plus.

Generator Field Service Technician Physical DemandsTasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.

WORK LOCATION

• This position will be located in either Birmingham, AL or Forest Park, GA (Metro Atlanta), however candidates living outside of the area may be considered with the expectation that they could successfully telework and would be willing to travel to work and field location on a routine (to be determined) and as-needed basis.

• This position will require a mix of both field and office work.

• Field work can include site visits to suppliers' shops and various work locations.

• Some office work can be performed remotely (telework/work from home).

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be managing surveillance programs for hydro, transmission, generation, retrofit, and gas projects. The initial assignment will be supporting Southern Company's Transmission projects. The Supplier Quality team maintains expertise in manufacturing, welding, coating inspection, and the practical use of quality systems. This expertise allows us to successfully perform quality surveillance of civil, mechanical, and electrical material and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication quality systems, an attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage project quality surveillance programs for Transmission products.

• Hire and manage 3rd party inspectors to conduct inspections at supplier facilities.

• Create and manage Project Quality Surveillance Plans (PQSP) for equipment (electrical, civil, mechanical).

• Schedule and lead monthly update meetings and other project team meetings.

• Communicate with project team members, internal customers, and external suppliers.

• Develop surveillance estimates.

• Ensure budget goals are managed and met.

• Conduct quality and technical capability assessments of supplier manufacturing facilities.

• Perform electrical, civil/structural, and mechanical surveillance at supplier facilities.

• Perform inspections and determine acceptability of various equipment and material such as transmission line and substation products (poles, hardware, conductor, etc), structural steel, transformers, motors and pumps, and various other power delivery and generation equipment.

• Review specifications for enforceability.

• Review supplier's Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, building construction, or other relevant technical discipline is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate a plus.

Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple competing deadlines, activities, meetings, shop visits, and projects.

• A working knowledge of shop operations including quality systems, procurement, equipment/material manufacturing, handling, and shipping required.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and grow relationships with customers required.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure supplier compliance with requirements.

• A working knowledge of applicable IEEE, IEC, ASME, ISO, AWS, NACE, ANSI, NESC, AISC, ASTM, ACI, and other codes and standards to ensure suppliers comply with specified technical and quality requirements.

• Exhibit a strong understanding of quality culture, quality assurance, and quality control preferred.

• Ability to obtain a passport is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The team lead role is responsible for leading a team of writers in delivering technical writing, publications, graphic design, and communication support primarily associated with technical documents for Technical & Project Solutions (T&PS) and associated partners (Generation, Power Delivery, Safety & Health, Technical Training, SO Linc and others). Tasks will include the management of technical documentation, executive communications, article generation, relationship building, event-planning, website content, branding and more. Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to the Technical Publications team, including performance management, work assignments, project coordination and customer interactions.

• Work closely with T&PS leadership and subject matter experts to research, write, edit and produce a wide range of communication materials, including technical documentation, organizational announcements, presentations, talking points and website content

• Direct interface with the T&PS executive leadership team to support various initiatives

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

• Bachelor's degree required. Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing or equivalent field preferred

Experience:

• Experience developing and implementing strategic communication plans required

• Prior experience providing communication support for executive level management is strongly preferred

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be filled as an Engineer if the successful candidate is a degreed Engineer (ABET accredited) or will be filled as a Transmission Analyst if filled with a non-Engineer.

The successful candidate will be the point of contact for developmental needs and coordination

of the TVMS (Transmission Vegetation Management System) program and provide secondary support to Forestry and Contract Services personnel on the use and maintenance of TVMS across all operating companies. TVMS is a multi-dimensional GIS Mapping and Work Management Tool that uses GIS technology to develop work plans and track vegetation management activities. This position will require cross functional working knowledge with outside vendors including Clearion Software, ESRI and the Southern Company Technology Organization (TO) network including the GIS COE (Center of Excellence), the Application Portfolio staff and TO Client Services personnel. The position will include activities in GIS software and application development, end user support, data acquisition and maintenance, mapping production support, QA/QC, metadata, user training and user support. This position will work with TO on the implementation of a new Vegetation Management System.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Work Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Forestry, Computer Systems, or other related field of study is preferred.

• At least 1 year of GIS technology experience is required.

• GIS Technology experience with major utility company a plus.

• Experience/education should include: development, maintenance and use of GIS programs, applications, and spatial data; computer systems relating to GIS and spatial

data; SQL Server

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of ESRI's family of ArcGIS is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be managing surveillance programs for hydro, transmission, generation, retrofit, and gas projects. The initial assignment will be supporting Southern Company's Transmission projects. The Supplier Quality team maintains expertise in manufacturing, welding, coating inspection, and the practical use of quality systems. This expertise allows us to successfully perform quality surveillance of civil, mechanical, and electrical material and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication quality systems, an attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage project quality surveillance programs for Transmission products.

• Hire and manage 3rd party inspectors to conduct inspections at supplier facilities.

• Create and manage Project Quality Surveillance Plans (PQSP) for equipment (electrical, civil, mechanical).

• Schedule and lead monthly update meetings and other project team meetings.

• Communicate with project team members, internal customers, and external suppliers.

• Develop surveillance estimates.

• Ensure budget goals are managed and met.

• Conduct quality and technical capability assessments of supplier manufacturing facilities.

• Perform electrical, civil/structural, and mechanical surveillance at supplier facilities.

• Perform inspections and determine acceptability of various equipment and material such as transmission line and substation products (poles, hardware, conductor, etc), structural steel, transformers, motors and pumps, and various other power delivery and generation equipment.

• Review specifications for enforceability.

• Review supplier's Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, building construction, or other relevant technical discipline is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate a plus.

Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple competing deadlines, activities, meetings, shop visits, and projects.

• A working knowledge of shop operations including quality systems, procurement, equipment/material manufacturing, handling, and shipping required.

JOB SUMMARY

of the TVMS (Transmission Vegetation Management System) program and provide secondary support to Forestry and Contract Services personnel on the use and maintenance of TVMS across all operating companies. TVMS is a multi-dimensional GIS Mapping and Work Management Tool that uses GIS technology to develop work plans and track vegetation management activities. This position will require cross functional working knowledge with outside vendors including Clearion Software, ESRI and the Southern Company Technology Organization (TO) network including the GIS COE (Center of Excellence), the Application Portfolio staff and TO Client Services personnel. The position will include activities in GIS software and application development, end user support, data acquisition and maintenance, mapping production support, QA/QC, metadata, user training and user support. This position will work with TO on the implementation of a new Vegetation Management System.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Work Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Forestry, Computer Systems, or other related field of study is preferred.

• At least 1 year of GIS technology experience is required.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate, facilitate, and support day-to-day administrative field construction activities. Primary duties include:

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment

• Ensure accurate verification, tracking, routing, and payment of project invoices (including interfacing with contractors, vendors, and accounts payable personnel to expedite and correct invoices)

• Coordinate site document control activities

• Facilitate the purchase, rental, and maintenance of construction equipment, site vehicles, and construction office facilities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent keyboard and computer skills in the standard office computer software, (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Knowledge of Southern Company accounts payable and work management software systems, including Oracle and Maximo, is highly preferred

• Understanding of the Power House Maintenance Agreement is desirable

Distribution System Operator - Coastal Area

This position is based in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the effective operation of the company's electric distribution system. This is accomplished through: monitoring and operating the distribution system through the current and future systems used in the Customer Operations Department; dispatching employees appropriately for restoration and daily work; preparing and instructing switching; and informing the appropriate departments, employees, and customers on the condition of the electrical and/or customer accounting issues.

Job Requirements

• 3 or more years' experience in a related field, such as dispatching, utility, or military experience preferred.

• Engineer degree may be considered in lieu of experience.

• Successful completion of the Pre-Screening test for DCC Operators.

• Thorough knowledge of the Southern Company Distribution Operating Procedures (SDOP) to aid employees in working safely and efficiently in the operation of SOCO's distribution system.

• Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to work effectively under varying levels of stress and pressure, and good interpersonal skills.

• Good analytical/thinking skills to be able to quickly analyze information and respond appropriately.

• Write and execute switching orders for routine activities and emergency restoration. This includes coordinating the various switching clearances in compliance with the SDOP and all other procedures pertaining to switching of the Distribution system.

• Direct the service restoration efforts for distribution outages through effective direction of SOCO and contract employees familiar with distribution restoration. This will also include effective switching through automated and manual devices.

• Direct routine work and restoration through ARMS for the Electric Servicemen, Customer Servicemen, Local Town Personnel and other departments/employees that utilize ARMS.

• Communicate outage information and take in the big picture to notify appropriate employees and management, including Distribution Operations, Divisions, and Corporate Communications of restoration progress and needs.

• Ensure daily activities and procedures are completed in a safe, timely, and correct manner. This includes activities and procedures for Switching, TCMS, EMS, ARMS III, Daily Reports, Switch Board, Switching Calendar, and DMIR.

• Ensure all Compliance and Security measures are maintained.

• The incumbent is required to work a rotating shift and report to work outside of normal shift hours as needed.

Summary

Qualification Requirements

This position manages all Quality Control functions related to power generation systems at the DI Campus. A technician with this position can build and fabricate switchgear across the complete spectrum of our product, wire complex products and assist with product development activities.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will support plant maintenance and operations as subject matter expert for the bottom ash removal and transport systems. The position will be responsible to ensure strict adherence preventative maintenance programs and is responsible for all maintenance strategy related activities for the bottom ash systems. The bottom ash system owner is required to monitor daily reporting for equipment needs and to provide input on repair solutions to ensure equipment/process reliability. This position is responsible for coordination of onsite ash handling contractor and coordination of supporting contract resources for maintenance work. The bottom ash system owner is responsible for providing budget projections and working with plant financial analysts to ensure maintenance and capital plans are properly accounted for in the budget. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing Data Acquisition and Real-Time Systems activities at generating plants for Southern Company Generation. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing Data Acquisition and Real-Time Systems activities at generating plants for Southern Company Generation. The primary focus is system detailed design, configuration, communications, commissioning, and support of revenue watt-hour meters, Automatic Generation Control (AGC) Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), and Real-Time Automation Controllers (RTAC).

This position reports to the Plant Field Services Supervisor within the Technical & Project Solutions (T&PS), Technical Services I&C Systems & Field Services Organization.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead or assist in the preparing and overseeing of Data Acquisition and RTS activities including document production and interpretation, instrumentation selection, metering configuration, checkout, and startup.

• Complete detailed design, configuration, communications, commissioning, and support of AGC RTU/RTACs and revenue watt-hour meters.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, network diagrams and three-line drawings.

• Make recommendations or develop project scope, schedule, and budget.

• Participate on a 24/7 on- call rotation assisting plants on Data Acquisition or RTS issues.

• Assist generating facilities with SOX controls including documentation for compliance purposes.

• Ability to work proficiently both as part of a team and independently.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

• Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Electronic Engineering Technology, Industrial Controls or equivalent degree/experience is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in relevant engineering field is a plus.

• Technical Certifications and/or work experience in data acquisition, real time systems practices, networking principles, or power plant operations may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in any/all of the following areas is required:

• Power plant operations

• Metering

• RTU/RTAC

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to create and maintain positive working relationships is required.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, have strong technical skills, be detail and process oriented, and thrive on problem solving in a fast-paced environment. At a high level, the position focuses on System Integration Test Planning & Text Execution which requires both functional knowledge and technical skills to plan and prepare for testing, execute the tests, and validate test results; and Baseline /Regression testing techniques which requires strong functional, technical, and analytical skills.

Test Planning responsibilities and deliverables include:

• Author detailed test plans including definition of scenarios to be tested and test preparations needed including SQL's to validate data existence and to validate eventual test results. In addition to scenario and data planning, Test Planning includes determination of testing approach (including test planning for test automation), testing timelines, resources/estimates, the technical aspects of environment preparations, identification of batch execution scope & schedules, and identification of data management (backups/restore points).

Plant Vogtle has opportunities for a Nuclear Plant Instructor in the Maintenance and Technical Training organization. This opportunity lies within the Radiation Protection training program.

SUMMARY

The Nuclear Plant Instructor in the Maintenance and Technical Training organization is responsible for presenting and administering the Radiation Protection training program. The Nuclear Plant Instructor will design, conduct and evaluate classroom and laboratory instruction; develop training and examination materials; and process and maintain training records for the Radiation Protection training program. These activities are instrumental in maintaining the plant's INPO accreditation.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of employees responsible for all maintenance related activities at the site including safety, compliance, reliability, efficiency and workforce excellence. This individual will be responsible for developing an engaged work force. This will include providing leadership and guidance in support/communication of Southern Nuclear goals and strategic initiatives. This position ensures that Nuclear Safety is the overriding priority and instills this priority in the maintenance workers.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

• Own the Corrective Action Program.

• Work schedule may include either 12 hour rotating shift or 12 hour rotating shift relief.

• Observe maintenance workers and provide intervention and coaching to reinforce management expectations and positive behaviors.

• Provide employees with regular feedback on performance, including coaching and intervention to reinforce expectations and develop acceptable behaviors.

• Ensure activities are performed in accordance with approved written documents such as approved plant procedures and work order instructions.

• Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals and lead team to align their efforts with those goals.

• Participate actively in the Work Management Process to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently and effectively.

• Encourage employees to develop a high level of craftsmanship with an emphasis on nuclear safety, personnel safety and equipment reliability.

• Support initiatives such as Maintenance Ownership and Subject Matter Expert activities.

• Participate as required in benchmarking and assessment activities.

• Provide on-the-job training and evaluation opportunities for employees.

• Maintain a high level of productivity within the work force.

• Participate in the training process, own the training process and observe the training process as required.

• Own the Corrective and Elective Maintenance Backlog.

• Manages department resources within budget.

JOB EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Three years experience in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent - required.

• One year of Nuclear power plant experience required.

• Previous experience in construction processes preferred.

• Previous work order planning experience is preferred.

• Previous experience maintaining department budget- preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously

• Must have strong communication and presentation skills

• Must have strong problem solving skills

• Must be able to work in any environment demanded of the work force, including temperature extremes and elevations

• Must have an understanding of working within a Union contract and a working knowledge of plant maintenance and shop practices, with aptitude in all disciplines.

• Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and NRC requirements and be familiar with powerplant design and function

• Must be a flexible member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).

Minimum Qualifications:
