The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future.
We are looking for an Experienced Electrical Engineer for our AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) UIC (Utility, Industrial and Construction) department. This role can be Hybrid or fully Remote and will report into our Wendell, NC headquarters.
Roles & Responsibilities
Analyze MV switchgear requirements from customers to develop detail design engineering essential for review and manufacture of switchgears.
Prepare electrical drawing packages (including panel arrangements, nameplate schedule, schematic diagrams, communication drawings, three-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings and wiring diagrams) for factory manufacturing of the switchgear and customer documentation using CAD software.
Collaborate with project engineers to develop product solutions that meet customer expectations in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Work directly with the manufacturing teams addressing any challenges as they produce your designs.
Initiate and support product and process improvements by cross function team collaboration.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
3+ years of experience in the design and configuration of electrical power distribution products and systems
Proven understanding of standard protection and control technologies used in medium voltage power distribution products
Ability to analyze technical specifications and apply appropriate product solutions to meet customer expectations efficiently and timely
Proficiency in reading and understanding one-line diagrams and evaluating electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements
Ability to multitask and manage full workloads and business demands
Willingness to travel up to 10%, as needed
Must currently reside within the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with a concentration in power systems
Proficiency in creating, converting, and modifying drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base software
Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV switchgear
Experience in electrical design for MV switchgear
Experience with Siemens switchgear

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for interns for our Electrification and Automation division in Wendell, NC to support our portfolio of protection and automation products and solutions. A variety of opportunities are available across the business supporting project design tasks, operations, product development, special projects and process improvements. Assist with and complete development work on protection and automation projects that help improve engineering productivity

We are looking for a Application Engineering Key Expert . This position will be based in Wendell, NC but can be fully remote.
The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit located near Raleigh, NC is growing steadily. We are seeking a highly qualified and driven Engineer for the Engineering Hub Governance team.
This role will play a significant role in the continued growth of EA Business Unit by working to train and grow various engineering teams external or remote to the core US organization that are still working within the EA ANSI engineering hub. Great opportunity for personal growth and development. This role will particularly focus on the Application Engineering aspect of these teams, preparing and overseeing training, preparation, and quality of output relating to quotation activities for these external or remote teams.
This is a remote position that will require occasional Domestic and International travel to the office for training and meetings, as well as requiring some travel to support and establish new external or remote engineering teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
Train and grow engineering teams in all the ANSI hubs established by the core US engineering team for all the relevant product lines.

As a Systems Specialist, you will:
Ensure system database and programming verification, consistency with scope of work, and adherence to sequence of operations

Connecting cables and basic wires.
Verifying that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
Disassembling units to adjust or replace parts.
Marking unit assemblies with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags.
Reporting non-conforming items (e.g. parts, schematics, blue prints, etc.)
Preparing finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.)
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
Accessing and utilizing various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly (e.g. Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.)
Performing other work as directed by Supervision.
Basic Requirements
1+ years of experience in Manufacturing

Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock is adding a Group Lead for our 3 rd shift Welding team. In this exciting role your primary responsibility will be to drive team in continuous improvement of budget, safety, and schedule adherence through the use of lean manufacturing principles both on the production floor and during the production planning phases.
Working with the production core team members, you will lead the team in technical problem solving for topics including standard and non-standard work, tooling, material flow, safety, engineering drawings and BOMs, and process improvements.
What your day may look like:
Performs information inquiries and/or transactions using computer terminals to support other duties and responsibilities.
Works from detailed engineering drawings to fit-up piece parts in fixturing: assembly components consisting of steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies and subassemblies.
Tack welds all parts together in equipment. Welds all assemblies according to AWS D 1.1 and 1.6. Meets production schedule with minimum supervision.
What you will need to be successful:
2 Years' experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
Experience leading a diverse team in a production environment.
A history of -hands-on- approach to problem solving and countermeasure implementation within own areas of responsibility.
We would be impressed if you had:
5 + years of experience planning and supporting launch of new production lines in a low-speed production environment (e.g. rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, heavy equipment, etc.).
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (Or Equivalent Experience)
Work experience in the rail business, preferably in light rail, heavy rail, or related production, is needed.

Clean and maintain equipment and work area to ensure functioning and safe working conditions and wears appropriate PPE.

Play a key role in the development and certification process of our products and systems
As an R&D System Test Engineer, you will:
Define test strategies, plan tests, and execute test activities with the aim of improving the test strategy and the test management process on the basis of the defined and determined critical metrics.
Work within a team to automate test environments, evaluate test metrics and error analysis.
Develop and update Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test Reports in support of assigned projects.
Configure test tools according to test strategy.
Organize the implementation and/or monitoring of type tests from the concept phase with test planning to development-accompanying tests and optimizations to CE type testing and type approval in accordance with national and international regulations in the field of electric charging systems

As a Service Operations Team Leader, you will:
Responsible for planning, including resource hiring, development and allocation, financial forecasting,monitoring and issue resolution planning.

Role Responsibilities
Read and execute test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to decide testing procedure and equipment to be used.
Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions, such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity, using testing devices. Calibrate and sets components and devices.
Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics, such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
Compare and analyze results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graph and test results on defective units to discover cause of failure, applying knowledge of electronic theory and using electronic test equipment.
Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
Utilize knowledge of programming techniques, electronics, test equipment, and testing specifications.
May devise test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.
