Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for interns for our Electrification and Automation division in Wendell, NC to support our portfolio of protection and automation products and solutions. A variety of opportunities are available across the business supporting project design tasks, operations, product development, special projects and process improvements. On-site requirement will vary based on team placement - as will expected working hours.
You'll make an impact by:
Support engineering work via reviewing and organizing Siebreak 3D library for operations and production.
Support design changes and modeling of designs (3D NX CAD and 2D AutoCAD Electrical) to expedite material quotation
Team improvement projects focused on process documentation and work instructions.
Create documentation of legacy products and projects
Design new parts for prototypes with support of senior members and update existing parts to improve designs.
Support prototype builds with support of senior members and JT files.
Create/organize electrical and mechanical device libraries.
Provide production and lab support on product assembly.

Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Mechanical Engineering
Basic understanding of d modeling (sheetmetal, solid), basic understanding of model drawings
No housing or travel/relocation compensation provided
Preferred Qualifications:
3D modeling/drafting experience (Solidworks, AutoCAD, NX)
Mechanical design knowledge and basic electrical concept knowledge
Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience with MS office products with proficiency in MS works, Excel and PowerPoint

Electrical Products R&D team is working on next generation smart circuit protection/control products. Join our team as we build together technologies to create safe and efficient next generation electrical circuit protection, intelligent energy source selection, intuitive power distribution, control, and monitoring.
We are looking for result-oriented electrical engineers with design experience in power system design and electronics design, entrepreneur spirit and passion for new technologies.
You will make impact with the following responsibilities:
Perform system level power calculations/simulations on DC power distribution systems for applications, such as electric vehicle charging infrastructure, micro/nano grids for industrial, commercial, and residential buildings.
Identify critical components for DC power distributions systems and develop, build, and test prototypes and/or solutions to fill gaps in existing portfolios.
Follow latest industry trends and development in DC power distribution and participate in related industry committees and conferences.
Design, build, and test analog and digital circuitry in applications, such as power electronics and power supplies.
Work closely with all engineering disciplines including software/firmware, electrical hardware, mechanical, project management, verification and validation engineers and quality personnel to verify and validate prototypes/products.

Background in power distribution systems and their related components.
Hands on experience developing prototypes/products in demanding, fast-paced environment.
Experience working with one or more electrical engineering design tools is required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to produce results with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with or have worked on DC power distribution systems and their common components, such as rectifiers, converters, battery storage systems and so on.
Background in power electronics and related topics, such as EMI/EMC, power dissipations, transient voltages and so on.
Basic coding skills is a plus.
Experience with microprocessor-based embedded system designs.
Experience developing applications using wireless IoT Network Protocols such as Bluetooth, BLE, Zigbee and Wifi.
Ability to work with multiple projects. Familiarity with Agile methodology preferred.
Good oral and writing communication skills. Good documentation skills.
Highly prefer candidates that are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Basic Qualifications:

Responsibilities
In this position you will:
Assemble standard Sentron products according to standard procedures.

Process work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders.

Verify that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.

Basic Requirements:
BS/BA degree required from an accredited university
