You will need to orchestrate territory coverage through effective collaboration, leadership, and coaching of internal team/specialists and external partners on how to position and close VMware opportunities. You will work closely with top Partner Executives/Sellers across the U.S. including leading VARs, Distributors, Corporate Resellers, OEMs, and Cloud/Hosting Partners.
You will be expected to support Partners in negotiating large deals with deeply complex terms, conditions, prices pressures and considerations. This will require you to be capable of accurately assessing general contract terms, customer requirements, and product capabilities to ensure VMware is chosen as the preferred vendor.
5-8 years of Selling Enterprise Software is required
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Travel 30-50% of the time meeting with and presenting to current and prospective customers and for internal and customer events/meetings.
Increase customer spending through 'Whitespace' and 'Wallet share' selling motions in assigned geographies.
Support and provide guidance to both field and partner marketing events
Coordination within an internal set of multi-functional teams such as Systems Engineers, Product Specialists, Inside Reps, Field Marketing, Professional Services, and Channel Management and external partners as described previously.
Accurately forecast license bookings, specific products revenue, PSO bookings and new accounts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis via Salesforce.com

What is the structure and culture of the team like?
This role will be part of the Public Sector CSM Organization within the Modern Applications and Management business group. Members will work with their counterparts in the Federal Intelligence Community region.
The team is distributed across the United States and we are in an exciting phase of growth and development with many exciting opportunities ahead. The majority of the team works remotely from home, with access to offices in primary VMware locations when required. What is the structure and culture of the team like?
This role will be part of the Public Sector CSM Organization within the Modern Applications and Management business group. Members will work with their counterparts in the Federal Intelligence Community region.
The team is distributed across the United States and we are in an exciting phase of growth and development with many exciting opportunities ahead. The majority of the team works remotely from home, with access to offices in primary VMware locations when required. The team's collective experience is phenomenal, from technical experts to business leaders with first-hand experience of digital transformation projects in previous roles. The SE is a critical part of VMware Field Sales teams and tasked with owning the technical portion of the sales cycle. The SE seeks to build deep, consultative relationships with their customer, effectively becoming a trusted adviser. The SE trusted advisor is ideally positioned to understand the customer's high-level business objectives, and match these to VMware solutions to satisfy the business and technical requirements.
Being a core solutions engineer requires you to be a leader in your account team. You will pull in other teams as needed to assist in the overall sales cycle and lifecycle of the account. You will be responsible for pulling everyone together within your extended sales team to accomplish one common goal as well as to serve the best interest of our customers.
The SE is comfortable presenting VMware's value proposition, technologies, strategy, and product roadmaps to all levels at their customer including executives, technical management, and technical engineers.
Everyone is responsible for pipeline growth. A great SE always seeks to identify new customer opportunities or demands for VMware solutions in their named accounts, as well as participate in demand generating events and activities. SE's track these opportunities in Salesforce.com.
Once an opportunity is identified, the SE plays a critical role in developing the opportunity and moving it towards closure. The primary activities the SE leads are to ensure that the proposed solution has been technically validated and that there are no technical barriers that would prevent the adoption of the solution. You will need to orchestrate territory coverage through effective collaboration, leadership, and coaching of internal team/specialists and external partners on how to position and close VMware opportunities. You will work closely with top Partner Executives/Sellers across the U.S. including leading VARs, Distributors, Corporate Resellers, OEMs, and Cloud/Hosting Partners.
You will be expected to support Partners in negotiating large deals with deeply complex terms, conditions, prices pressures and considerations.
