The Opportunity
As a dedicated Fraud At-Risk Persons Investigator I, you will help protect, and be an advocate for, our vulnerable membership, identify fraud trends, and surface opportunities to proactively address member pain points, improve fraud resolution policies and assist members with achieving a timely, simple, and efficient resolution to their fraud event. You will perform fraud reviews for investigations of a complex nature on occasion as well as fraud reviews for investigations of a less complex nature. You will be the face of the company for our At-Risk population of members and will utilize product and system knowledge to conduct fraud reviews. You will be required to develop accurate, compliant, and consistent documentary evidence to support fraud review decisions provided to members, contact law enforcement authorities as well as state agencies, analyze subpoenas and requests for information from third parties, and make decisions on fraud events in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. You will complete interviews with internal and external parties and perform remediation activities in support of fraud operations to alleviate any potential negative impact to our members or organization. You will help champion a culture of passionate member advocacy, process excellence, and risk management, while identifying opportunities to optimize fraud resolution processes.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC.

What you'll do:
Manages and conducts fraud investigations with a higher level of complexity of suspected or known criminal activity involving multiple bank or investment products, payment types, and fraud categories.
Reviews monetary and non-monetary fraud transaction to detect fraudulent patterns and trends in support of the investigative process.
Performs thorough analysis of evidence; assesses veracity of information compiled, to include documentary materials and results of interviews, to develop investigative conclusions.
Utilizes advanced knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, applicable laws and regulations, company policies, and best practices in the investigative field to organize investigative results.
Prepares cases for criminal prosecution and presents evidence to appropriate law enforcement agencies for prosecution.
Provides testimony to the grand jury and trial courts and file regulatory reports as necessary.
Participates, in task groups and committees for the purpose of reviewing and improving policies, procedures, and processes or providing subject matter expertise.
Utilizes deep product and system knowledge within USAA's Bank to conduct investigations.
Identifies and resolves issues; identifies appropriate issues for escalation such as fraudulent trends, vulnerabilities causing increased fraudulent activity and/or larger than normal losses.
Serves as a liaison with law enforcement agencies and other institutions to ensure USAA is informed of all relevant potential risks.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related financial services or federal, state, local, or military law enforcement investigations experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience in financial services or financial crimes experience to include 2 years of federal/local/state/military law enforcement investigations.
Advanced knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and other applicable laws and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends and patterns.

4 or more years progressive operations or process experience in the financial services.
Understanding of federal laws, state laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance, to include: UDAAP, FCRA/Reg V, TILA/Reg Z, BSA/AML, EFTA/Reg E, Reg CC, OCC Heightened Standards, Red Flags applicable to Identity Theft and/or Elder/Vulnerable Adult Exploitation, state laws applicable to Powers of Attorney, Guardianship and Conservatorship and state laws applicable to the detection, prevention and reporting of exploitation of elder or vulnerable adults.
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification, ACAMS certification, Certified AML & Fraud Professional (CAFP), or other industry designation, or ability to obtain within a year of employment.
Experience working in a Fraud role using attention to detail and high concern for data privacy and accuracy.
Experience in a customer facing role, using analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of fraud threat vectors, technologies, and effective mitigation tactics.
Experience reviewing, interpreting, and dispositioning subpoenas or requests for information from external parties.
Experience drafting, reviewing, editing, and filing Suspicious Activity Reports with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
Ability to think outside the box and help champion a culture of passionate member service, process excellence, and risk management to help protect our At-Risk membership.
U.S. military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $67,220 - $128,480.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

As a dedicated Director, AML Operations, you will directly run resources in support of the Bank's Anti-Money Laundering operations and related activities for USAA the Federal Savings Bank (-FSB-) and USAA Savings Bank (-USB-) AML/Sanctions risk programs, policies, governance, and controls. Leads operational teams to ensure consistent execution of an AML program areas for multiple lines of business. Fosters collaboration and leads employees and teams to achieve a shared member service vision. Organizes and directs the execution of operational and strategic business plans.
The Opportunity
What you'll do:
Develops and oversees the implementation and execution of AML operating strategies, policies, and procedures aimed at compliance with regulators expectations regarding all AML activities for multiple products and lines of business within the Bank.
Leads and drives principles of operational discipline and execution excellence across accountable area and across functional teams through the development of KPIs and KRIs.
Drives for continued enhancement of existing AML Operations teams and processes with a focus on centralization of like teams and processes and associated efficiency gains.
Works collaboratively with cross-functional business partners to ensure effective and efficient solutions are implemented to resolve operational issues related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML program.
Ensures that operations are efficient in terms of resources and effective in terms of meeting member, organizational and regulatory requirements.
Monitors account refresh activity daily to ensure regulatory/document requirements are met.
Directs department resources across all units to achieve service and relationship goals. Includes leading internal employees, contractors and managing third party vendor relationships.
Builds and manages a high performing team of professionals through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management and related managerial activities.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
8 years of experience in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/ Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) area supporting financial services and/or banking related products.

As a dedicated Data Scientist Lead for Fraud, translate business problems into applied statistical, machine learning, simulation, and optimization solutions to advise actionable business insights and drive business value through automation, revenue generation, and expense and risk reduction. In collaboration with engineering partners, delivers solutions at scale, and enables customer-facing applications. Leverages databases, cloud, and programming knowledge to build analytical modeling solutions using statistical and machine learning techniques. Collaborates with other data scientists to improve USAA's tooling, growing the company's library of internal packages and applications. Works with model risk management to validate the results and stability of models before being pushed to production at scale.

What you have:

The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Property Adjuster Specialist located in Baltimore, MD to join our field Team. As a Insurance Property Adjuster Specialist, you will work within established guidelines and framework to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property insurance claims presented by or against our members. You will confirm and analyzes coverage, recognize liability exposure and negotiate equitable settlements in compliance with all state regulatory requirements.
Property Adjuster Specialist focus on using technology and desk adjusting for a virtual first approach to inspections and claims handling. USAA also provides a company vehicle to physically inspect losses within your locally assigned territory. Field Adjusters may travel outside of their local territory to respond to claims in other regions when needed. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with paid overtime available.
What you'll do:
Proactively manages assigned claims caseload comprised of complex damages that require commensurate knowledge and understanding of claims coverage including potential legal liability.
Partners with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate complex claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.
Investigates claim damages by conducting research from various sources, including the insured, third parties, and external resources. May identify and resolve potential discrepancies and identifies subrogation potential resulting from unusual characteristics.
Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate. Determines coverage through analyzing information involving complex policy terms and contingencies.
Determines and negotiates complex claims settlement within authority limits. Develops recommendations and collaborates with management for determining settlement amounts outside of authority limits and accurately manages claims outcomes.
Maintains accurate, thorough, and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
Advance knowledge of estimating technology platforms and virtual inspection tools. Utilizes platforms and tools to prepare claims estimates to manage complex property insurance claims.
Supports workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours.
May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs.
Works various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed.
Works independently solving complex problems with minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Adjusts complex claims with attorney involvement.
Recognizes and addresses jurisdictional challenges such as applicable legislation and construction considerations.
May require travel to resolve claims, attend training, and conduct in-person inspections.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity losses that includes writing estimates, involving dwelling and structural damages.
Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and platforms.
Proficient knowledge of residential construction.
Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law and state laws and regulations.
Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Proven investigatory, analytical, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.
Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
