As a dedicated Product Development Director , you will support Go-To-Market for the Valuable Personal Property (VPP) and Personal Property Plus (P3) product Modernization efforts.

Accountable for developing new products, overseeing and handling the launch and maturation of new products into target strategic markets. Acting as a cross functional authority, this position provides expertise and support for product line initiatives related to product development, compliance, operational and process improvements, claims management, vendor management, product documentation, fulfillment, and/or system releases.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members

  • Leads development and launch of new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.

  • Develops recommendations to launch new products and the evaluation and decision to buy/build or ally for individual product(s).

  • Generates creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists

  • Responsible for maintaining thorough level of knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g. trends, results, etc.)

  • Responsible for post-launch monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of -new in market- products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.

  • Conducts sophisticated analysis of internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.

  • Develops and communicates the new product value proposition for individual products.

  • Ensures sales support is delivered to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the new product is properly positioned to members

  • Leads the analysis and evaluation of new product performance metrics to make changes to offerings, if vital, prior to full launch

  • Coordinates with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related field; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years relevant experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.

  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying and supporting product and/or integrated suite of products.

  • Experience working through agile product development process, managing multiple products simultaneously.

  • Knowledge and application of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

  • Creative problem solver with hands on experience in problem framing, qualitative & quantitative research, running product experiments, hypothesis testing and prototyping to launch products at the intersection of Human, Technology and Business dimensions.

  • Navigates through ambiguous contexts with confidence. Ability to break large complex initiatives into smaller manageable features and capabilities and deliver them early and often.

What sets you apart:

  • Proven experience in developing, launching, and supporting go-to-market strategies for P&C Insurance Products.

  • Strong knowledge of Valuable Personal Property (VPP) and Personal Property Plus (P3) insurance products, with a solid understanding of GTM strategies.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with business and IT teams to ensure smooth launches and alignment.

  • Demonstrated success in bringing new products to market, including the execution of comprehensive launch plans.

  • Capable of managing multiple GTM launches for VPP and P3 lines concurrently, with strong prioritization, time management, and focus on delivering key results.

The Enterprise Risk and Compliance (ERC) Risk Development Program is designed to develop entry-level talent to be the future generation of risk and compliance professionals through meaningful projects and team assignments, senior leader exposure, and professional development opportunities within ERC at USAA.

What you'll do:

The Opportunity

The Digital Performance & Strategy Analyst will support the Digital Acquisition team in accelerating our maturity and insights capabilities to meet member needs. You will be an expert in Adobe Analytics and how to connect with offline sources to translate digital experience to ultimate outcomes. By building the foundation and creating dashboards and insights that will empower our Product Managers and Owners to manage digital product more effectively, this is a very rewarding and broad reaching impact opportunity!

Utilizes quantitative and qualitative analysis to provide thought-leadership on evolving industry trends, market developments, USAA's strategic direction, regulatory environment, and macroeconomic trends for the business unit. Provides insights and information-based context for key stakeholders in the business unit to effectively manage, influence, and impact line of business strategy.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to identify key business assumptions and hypotheses around line of business strategy.

  • Continuously refines hypotheses and identifies business questions to explore further.

  • Facilitates the integration of the analytic strategy and business strategy.

  • Develops the analytical framework and blueprint to answer business questions identified in the business portfolio, product, or member experience.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to evaluate and uncover strategic insights related to Profit & Loss performance including Product Strategy, Pricing, Marketing, Sales, Credit Risk, Distribution Channels, and Member Experience.

  • Applies analytical rigor to define outcome measures, improve prioritization, increase agility in decisioning, improve ability to evaluate progress towards business outcomes, and to evaluate risks to strategic goals.

  • Leverages advanced data-driven problem-solving techniques to manipulate and interpret business results.

  • Translates findings into insights for strategy management and execution.

  • Communicates the significance of strategic insights to senior leaders and other key stakeholders to drive business decisions.

  • May provide guidance and on-the-job training to team members.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Science, Finance, Economics or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of data and/or analytics or strategy consulting experience; OR a minimum of 4 years of data and/or analytics or strategy consulting experience and up to 2 years of progressive functional business relevant experience for a total of 6 years combined experience; OR Advanced Degree in Business, Science, Finance, Economics or related discipline and 4 years of experience in data and/or analytics or strategy consulting.

  • Experience identifying business needs and managing strategic plans driven by qualitative/quantitative analysis and market insights.

  • Demonstrated experience using data analytics to formulate data-driven insights and influence business decisions.

  • Experience performing complex data analysis using various data analytics tools (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, Snowflake, SAS, Adobe Analytics).

  • Demonstrated experience in project management.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $99,160 - $189,530 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
