The USAA Catastrophe team is seeking experienced Field Property Adjusters in the local Austin, TX area. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with paid overtime and potential CAT pay availability. A company vehicle is provided. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
The Opportunity
As a Property Adjuster Specialist you will work within defined guidelines and framework, investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles complex property insurance claims. You will confirm/analyze coverage, recognize liability exposure and negotiate equitable settlement in compliance with all state regulatory requirements. Will recognize and empathize with members' life events, as appropriate.
What you'll do:
Proactively manages assigned claims caseload comprised of complex damages that require commensurate knowledge and understanding of claims coverage including potential legal liability.
Partners with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate complex claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.
Investigates claim damages by conducting research from various sources, including the insured, third parties, and external resources. May identify and resolve potential discrepancies and identifies subrogation potential resulting from unusual characteristics.
Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate. Determines coverage through analyzing information involving complex policy terms and contingencies.
Determines and negotiates complex claims settlement within authority limits. Develops recommendations and collaborates with management for determining settlement amounts outside of authority limits and accurately manages claims outcomes.
Maintains accurate, thorough, and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
Advance knowledge of estimating technology platforms and virtual inspection tools. Utilizes platforms and tools to prepare claims estimates to manage complex property insurance claims.
Supports workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours.
May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs.
Works various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed.
Works independently solving complex problems with minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Adjusts complex claims with attorney involvement.
Recognizes and addresses jurisdictional challenges such as applicable legislation and construction considerations.
May require travel to resolve claims, attend training, and conduct in-person inspections.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity losses that includes writing estimates, involving dwelling and structural damages.
Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and platforms.
Proficient knowledge of residential construction.
Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law and state laws and regulations.
Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Proven investigatory, analytical, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.
Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.
What sets you apart:
Experience handling complex residential property losses.
Experience as a Property field adjuster handling DWG, APS and ALE adjustments.
Deployment experience in support of catastrophes.
Insurance Industry designations such as AINS, CPCU, AIC, SCLA.
Xactimate certification.
Currently reside within the local Austin, TX area.
US military service or military spouse.
Available to work extended hours to support CAT claims
Physical Demand Requirements:
May require the ability to crouch and stoop to inspect confined spaces, to include attics and go beneath homes into crawl spaces.
May need to meet all USAA safe driving requirements including verification of driving record through MVR & possession of valid driver's license.
May require the ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds to include lifting a ladder in and out of the trunk of a car.
May require the ability to climb ladders and traverse roofs, this includes the ability to work at heights while inspecting roofs and attics.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $71,380 - $128,480.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

The Opportunity
The Corporate Communications Principal will operate as a strategic advisor to the CEO, working closely with the AVP of CEO & Board Communications. S/he will serve as a deputy to the AVP, helping manage the team and ensure overall alignment to the CEO's communications strategy. S/he will approve deliverables, as well as provide coaching to the team as it relates to preparing the CEO's materials for upcoming engagements and developing content to syndicate across channels. The Principal will also manage special projects, as assigned, including writing content on behalf of the CEO.
This is as much a consultative role as it is a tactical one, and the Principal must be able to shift gears quickly from providing counsel to getting his/her hands dirty in the work. Business acumen and high learning agility are key to success in this role.

What you'll do:
Accountable for providing thought leadership to drive communications strategy development; applies technical subject-matter-expertise to produce innovative communications solutions or large scale, enterprise-wide programs across multiple lines of businesses.
Oversees business and communications partner adherence to the communication governance practices and framework that drive a desired and consistent communications experience across various audiences.
Oversees work of communications partners in the development, approval and execution of public, member, and employee communications across multiple lines of business; provides guidance to ensure consistent alignment with USAA brand guidelines.
Leads communications strategy and execution, driving large, enterprise-wide programs across USAA and / or multiple lines of business to support enterprise business objectives. These programs include leading communications to support acquisitions, divestitures, strategic imperatives that guide the future of the enterprise.
Leverages data and insights expertise to evidence impact of communications programs on business objectives; provides communications data and insights to key senior leaders and enterprise stakeholders; then leverages the insights to inform future communications strategy.
Performs research and analysis of current communications trends and best practices - particularly in the areas of content, channel innovation, reputation management, driving business-based metrics, and SEO; synthesizes the information into actionable plans to drive communications excellence across the organization.
Leads through highly complex tasks with leadership discretion - often serving as a proxy for executive leadership on key issues; serves as a mentor to peers and team members and assists in their training and development.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, consulting and / or specific business area of focus related developing communications strategies, leading large-scale enterprise programs and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
6 years of experience presenting communications strategies and outcomes to C-level executives or board members.
Experience collaborating with key stakeholders, influencing senior leader decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals. Experience in defining strategies to empower and equip leaders to be effective in interactions and communications with all stakeholders.
Strong business acumen in various areas to include business operations, communications industry practices and emerging trends and experience with application in a financial services and/or business operations environment.
Experience in leveraging data and insights to evidence the impact of communications programs on business objectives.
Experience and demonstrated results leading cross-functional, matrixed team, while also being sought after for mentorship and peer review, while helping others achieve personal and professional goals.
Broad understanding of the impacts to an organization resulting from large transformation efforts, acquisitions, divestitures, etc. to be able to guide the communications strategy.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Bank Fraud Regulatory Compliance Management and At Risk Persons Program (Executive) , you will lead, develop, coordinate, and ensure the implementation of first line of defense risk management programs and framework to ensure risk data is captured. Develops risk mitigation strategies and controls, and partners with and engages the Enterprise Risk Management COE. Serves as the CoSA liaison providing leadership and direction to ensure processes and procedures are in place to effectively monitor and manage risk. Ensures there is consistency in the aggregation of identifying and managing existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Responsible for management of Elder Abuse and At Risk Persons Programs.
This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Bank Fraud Regulatory Compliance Management and At Risk Persons Program (Executive) , you will lead, develop, coordinate, and ensure the implementation of first line of defense risk management programs and framework to ensure risk data is captured. The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director, BRCA for the Bank responsible for the Remediation Operations Execution team, which manages back end fulfillment of remediations including coordination with Tax, letters and FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) through to final remediation in the form of letters, checks and/or credits as appropriate.
Oversees a team responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of programs that support effective Risk and compliance management in the first line of defense. Supports business leader adherence to the established Risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls and is accountable for the development and mentoring of a high performing team responsible for Risk and control self-assessments, identifying control failures, facilitating Risk and compliance remediation, internal and external audits and regulatory exams, and monitoring the of first line of defense in an effort to minimize Risk exposures and strengthen the overall control environment.

What you'll do:
Directs staff and initiatives that support Risk and control management programs, to include governance support, Risk oversight, Risk infrastructure development, Risk identification, quantification, aggregation, and emerging Risks.
Advises senior management and influences process change.
Builds and manages a high performing team of Risk and internal control professionals through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management and related managerial activities.
Manages consulting relationships with internal and external clients regarding budget and implementation deliverables and Risk mitigation plans as appropriate.
Partners with key stakeholders in the business and oversees the identification, assessment and documentation of Risks and controls, including Risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations and/or third-party operations.
Reviews, communicates and recommends the development of governance policies and procedures in partnership with senior leaders to ensure appropriateness and adequacy versus industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Provides counsel to business unit managers on Risk management issues and supports the evaluation of new product strategies on their impact to USAA's Risk profile.
Educates Risk owners on Risk/control best practices and may work with other lines of defense in the development and implementation of controls.
Manages processes for collecting accurate and complete internal loss data from business areas.
Directs analysis and data mining initiatives that identify, validate, and manage emerging Risk exposures, as necessary.
Assists in the early identification of Risk trends by establishing and monitoring key performance and Risk indicators.
Oversees the preparation of key reports and communications and may present to governance committees, senior leaders, regulatory bodies and the USAA Board of Directors.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance or related field of study; OR 4+ years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
8+ years of experience supporting Risk and/or compliance related activities in a financial services operating environment or other relevant industry; OR 8+ years of experience in a relevant quantitative discipline; OR Advanced degree or designation in a Risk management or quantitative discipline, and 6+ years of experience supporting Risk and/or compliance related activities; OR PhD in a Risk management or quantitative discipline, and 4+ years of experience supporting Risk and/or compliance related activities.
3+ years of direct team lead or people management experience.
Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance to include: OCC Heightened Standards, BSA/AML, REG E, UDAAP/UDAP, TILA/REG Z, SCRA, FCRA, MLA.

The salary range for this position is: $120,550 - $230,400 .

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Product Development Director for our Auto Modernization Team , you will be accountable for developing new products, overseeing, and managing the launch and maturation of new products into target strategic markets. Acting as a cross functional expert, this position provides expertise and support for product line initiatives related to product development, compliance, operational and process improvements, claims management, vendor management, product documentation, fulfillment, and/or system releases.

What you'll do:
Responsible for development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members
Leads development and launch of new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.
Develops recommendations to launch new products and the evaluation and decision to buy/build or ally for individual product(s).
Generates creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.
Responsible for maintaining thorough level of knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g., trends, results, etc.)
Responsible for post-launch monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of -new in market- products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.
Conducts complex analysis of internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.
Develops and communicates the new product value proposition for individual products.
Ensures sales support is delivered to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the new product is properly positioned to members.
Leads the analysis and evaluation of new product performance metrics to make changes to offerings, if necessary, prior to full launch
Coordinates with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
8 years relevant experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.
Extensive experience in developing, deploying and supporting product and/or integrated suite of products.
Experience working through agile product development process, managing multiple products simultaneously.
Knowledge and application of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
Creative problem solver with hands on experience in problem framing, qualitative & quantitative research, running product experiments, hypothesis testing and prototyping to launch products at the intersection of Human, Technology and Business dimensions.
Navigates through ambiguous contexts with confidence.
Ability to break large complex initiatives into smaller manageable features and capabilities and deliver them early and often.
What sets you apart:
Technical P&C product knowledge, specifically Auto, Homeowners, Renters, etc.,
Experience working with P&C platforms that support the entire insurance lifecycle such as Guidewire, DuckCreek, etc.,
Product Development and Design experience, including bringing large scale product enhancements and new products to market start to finish.
Experience with technology transformation, to include prior policy migration/conversion strategy experience, in the P&C industry.
Proven ability to gain broad cross-functional alignment and organizational sponsorship for strategic initiatives.
