The Opportunity

As a dedicated physical damage specialist, you will be responsible for building relationships and providing oversight of our third-party vendors through virtual or in person interactions with members, claimants, and third-party personnel. You will drive USAA's financial strength by ensuring accuracy and quality of third-party vendors' work product. Within defined guidelines and framework, you will work to resolve problems with a focus on the mission and exceptional member experiences.

**This is a field role, requiring the successful applicant to live and travel in the area of Orlando, Florida.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for on-boarding, oversight, maintaining partnerships, and coaching to performance of our contractual and/or operational goals as applicable.

  • Evaluate vendor work product to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to the terms and conditions of the contract.

  • Collaborate with 3PRM on vendor footprint to balance member needs and operational resources.

  • Responsible for complaint and payment discrepancy resolution within the vendor MOI.

  • Provide direction as needed on borderline Total Loss situations.

  • Accountable for providing decisions and insight on physical damage losses within authority granted and advances requests for further authority as needed.

  • Acquire and apply advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts and internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Support workload surges and/or Catastrophe Operations as needed.

  • Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • Follow written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma

  • 4+ years auto physical damage estimating experience

  • I-CAR Platinum Pro-Level 3 certification or ability to acquire and maintain within 12 months of hire

  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and effectively communicate next steps and path to resolution

  • Effective communication through multiple channels to include utilization of digital tools to drive speed, accuracy and service

  • Insurance adjuster license or acquisition and maintenance of license within 90 days and designated number of attempts

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

What sets you apart:

  • Experience with CCC estimating database

  • Experience as a staff appraiser, damage appraiser, or supervisory experience over repair shop networks

  • 5+ years of complex auto physical damage estimation experience

  • Proven ability to multi-task and triage claims in a high-volume environment

  • Current I-CAR Platinum Pro-Level 3 certification

  • Need to meet all USAA safe driving requirements including verification of driving record through MVR & possession of valid driver's license.

USAA is seeking an experienced Property General Field Adjuster within the Fredericksburg, VA area.

The Opportunity

As a Property General Adjuster, you will work within defined guidelines and framework to investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle the highest complexity property insurance claims presented by or against our members. You will confirm/analyze coverage, recognize liability exposure and negotiate equitable settlement in compliance with all state regulatory requirements. You will recognize and empathize with members' life events, as appropriate.

What you'll do:

  • Manages assigned claims caseload comprised of claims with highest complexity damages that require considerable knowledge and understanding of claims coverage.

  • Partners with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate highest complexity claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.

  • Extensive evaluation for highly complex claims, involving lengthy research and determination of settlement. Proactively identifies and engages in additional confirmation of potential discrepancies resulting from research involving complicated situations.

  • Serves as a resource for less experience staff on complicated claim situations.

  • Determines coverage through analyzing extensive information involving highly complex policy terms, including claim resolution.

  • Communicates with insured about coverage or any issues that involve additional information or considerations regarding settlement amount.

  • Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate.

  • Determines and negotiates highly complex settlement. Makes recommendations to management for settlement amounts outside of authority limits.

  • Maintains accurate and current claim file with critical documentation throughout the claims process for highly complex.

  • Proficient knowledge of estimating technology platforms. Utilizes platforms to prepare claims estimates in order to manage complex property insurance claims.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for claims handling.

  • Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe (CAT) operations as needed to include working significant overtime; may require deployment travel during designated CATs.

  • Works independently solving complex problems with minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

  • May require travel to resolve claims and conduct in-person inspections.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.

  • 4 years' relevant property claims adjusting experience that includes writing estimates of moderate-highly complex claims and field adjusting experience.

  • 2 years' experience handling dwelling claims.

  • Successfully acquire Property & Casualty (P&C) adjuster license and state registrations within 90 days of hire.

  • Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating platform. Expert knowledge estimating losses of moderate complexity.

  • Advanced knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law.

  • Proficient knowledge of residential construction.

  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.

Physical Demand Requirements:

  • May require the ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds to include lifting a ladder in and out of the trunk of a car.

  • May require the ability to climb ladders and traverse roofs, this includes the ability to work at heights while inspecting roofs and attics.

  • May require the ability to crouch and stoop to inspect confined attic spaces and go beneath homes into crawl spaces.

  • May need to meet all USAA safe driving requirements including verification of driving record through MVR & possession of valid driver's license.

What sets you apart:

  • General Adjuster experience with a Standard Insurance Carrier

  • 5+ years of Property field adjuster experience handling large loss, heavy structure claims and ALE management

  • 5+ years of experience handling dwelling claims in the field

  • Xactimate Level 1 and/or Level 2 certification

  • Insurance Industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA, AINS

  • Currently hold an active P&C Adjuster License

  • Currently reside or able to self-relocate within the Fredericksburg, VA area

  • US military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Strategy Planning Lead for the Bank Growth Engine (BGE) team. The Bank Growth Engine's focus is bringing personalized and data-driven Bank product offers to market in a compliant and efficient way. You will be responsible for the prioritization, intake, and categorization of campaigns, handling the BGE budget and governance controls, and facilitating and leading critical council and steerco sessions. You'll continue to plan the process and guidelines for future offers/campaigns to drive prioritization efforts beyond immediate needs.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

  • Drive collaboration and coordination across USAA stakeholders to gain alignment around prioritization and categorization of key marketing campaigns. Develop methodology for initiative prioritization.

  • Understand roadmap priorities and milestones across critical stakeholder teams.

  • Lead and oversee Bank Growth Engine (BGE) budget.

  • Ensure all campaigns and offers fall within USAA governance guardrails.

  • Develop the end-to-end framework and guiding principles for BGE processes.

  • Identify and raise opportunities for process improvements and automation within the campaign intake and prioritization process.
