Leads a credit approval team of Credit Risk Officers/Portfolio Managers that inculcates credit culture through communication, guidance, training and development. Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Serve as a risk manager for commercial/wholesale lending or specialty lines of businesses. Promote consistency of Bank's credit culture and lending strategies throughout organization. Responsible for leading the advancement of the organizations risk management culture, framework, and appetite

  2. Lead and manage a team of Credit Risk Officers/Portfolio Managers for small to moderate sized portfolio. Engage in the development of each teammate by providing timely constructive feedback/coaching and regular expectation setting and reinforcement. This includes oversight and inspection of adjudication behaviors and activities, including client selection, risk selection, underwriting exceptions, turn times and general level of engagement

  3. Provide indirect leadership to the LOB and Credit Delivery teams of the assigned portfolio through the delivery of credit training and mentorship of client facing lenders/Relationship Managers

  4. Exercise prudent credit judgment and guidance through individual delegated loan authority

  5. Stay abreast of laws, regulations and risk management techniques to ensure compliance and best practices in risk management. Stay abreast of local and national economic trends and market conditions

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

The Client Advocacy (CA) Relationship Manager primary focus is on analysis and reporting.

The role is responsible for collecting, aggregating, reporting, and analyzing client problem data from various sources within expected timeframes. Identify, highlight and communicate client problems to Client Advocacy teammates/leadership and business units for future problem avoidance. To aid in this effort, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for partnering with other Businses Unit Senior Management, Data Analytics, Function and Process Owners, Compliance, Risk and other Client Resolution groups to identify trends and themes from client problem data and define recommendations for additional business reviews that may be used to define root cause and/or business process, procedure or client communication enhancements. Key contributor to the Truist second-line-of-defense (LoD2) Technology Risk team responsible for independent risk oversight of one or more Technology Risk Framework domains and/or Business Unit Technology areas. Partner with Enterprise Technology teammates and stakeholders in assigned oversight areas, advise on risk-related topics, effectively challenge through risk programs, and independently evaluate technology risk in the Truist environment.

  2. Serve as a subject matter expert and steward of the Technology Risk Framework to identify, report and mitigate technology risks.

  4. Strengthen and sustain proactive risk culture through conducting effective risk focused management and partnership routines with technology teams and internal partners. Interface with senior leaders and key partners across the organization.

  6. Monitor legal, regulatory, compliance and audit matters for assigned Enterprise Technology oversight area(s) and ensures timely action.
