The branch leader has responsibility for managing all aspects of assigned branch. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: driving branch performance through leading, coaching and managing; and business development. Small business expertise and development critical to Truist's Purpose of inspiring and building better lives and communities. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies. Management of human capital including interviewing, selection, hiring, conducting performance reviews, disciplinary actions, workforce management scheduling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promote positive public image in the community and instill the Purpose, Mission and Values in the team and in support of the Truist culture.

  2. Drive the business development of the branch to deliver both strong team performance as well as strong individual performance through personal productivity, in the areas of Truist strategy including but not limited to Small Business, Mass Affluent, Community Heroes, and Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) partnership.

  3. Drive branch revenue through Small Business development and new client strategies. Drive the growth of Small Business expertise through branch routines of face-to-face appointments with clients, outbound calling, and prospecting as well as the growth of Mass Affluent through face-to-face appointments and outbound calling.

  4. Participation, as reviewed and approved in the market, in civic, government, professional, business, community affairs, associations and groups to prospect and develop new business through community involvement and building the Truist Brand.

  5. Responsible for successfully executing on the branch engagement routines by leading, growing, coaching and motivating teammates, to fulfill the Purpose Mission and Values for client's financial success and team empowerment.

  6. Partnership with Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) and Operations partners. Partner with the area operations officer to ensure compliance with bank procedures, internal controls, risk management and the Truist Code of Ethics and ensuring that all required training is successfully completed by the entire team. Proactively collaborate with all IRM and key line of business partners to lead and promote One Team culture within branch through One Team/Business Partnerships.

  7. Responsible for human capital decisions including interviewing, selection, hiring, workforce scheduling, development planning, annual performance reviews, ratings, and performance counseling including disciplinary actions for all members of branch team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

Job Profile Summary

A first line of defense risk professional within the Governance and Controls Office (GCO), responsible for the execution and support of various risk programs including but not limited to the risk control self-assessment (RCSA), business and regulatory change initiatives, issues management, loss events, third party, model risk, data risk and cyber risk. Utilize risk expertise to support the development and maturation of second line risk programs in alignment with regulatory expectations while balancing demands on capacity to execute program requirements successfully. Participate in discussions with first, second and third line risk leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execute on change and regulatory change risk, external events, data, model, third party and cyber risk in support of the assigned business unit. Provide monitoring and governance over issues management.

  2. Influence, participate in the development and maturation of the firm's risk programs to meet with regulatory expectations.

  3. Serve as a subject matter expert for ORM and ERM programs, providing effective challenge as necessary to program updates, changes. Participate in all applicable working groups for the risk programs.

  4. Communicate, train and monitor adherence of business partners and GCO teammates for changes in risk programs; provide coaching on effective execution, sharing best practices where applicable.

  5. Act as a conduit between the GCO, first line teammates and second line risk program owners/risk partners.

  6. Deliver/Influence recommendations for updates to relevant policies and procedures for risk program execution.

  7. Establish working relationships with line of business leaders and second line, third line of defense risk partners.

  8. Communicate and present materials in various leadership forums, committees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or science/academic field, or equivalent education and related training or experience

  2. Three years of risk management experience in financial services or related field.

  3. Broad risk and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on: Credit, Market, Liquidity, Compliance, Operational, Reputation and Strategic Risks

  4. Strong communications skills

  5. Ability to think critically and strategically, multi-task, and drive change

  6. Strong quantitative, governance, and analytic abilities

  7. Ability to provide effective challenge to senior levels of leadership

  8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

  9. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Finance or equivalent science/academic field

  2. Financial Risk Manager (FRM)/Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent advanced risk certification
