This Opportunity
Leads and provides assistance and guidance for the collection, identification, compiling, and analysis of observational and spatial data concerning a variety of natural resources. Provides support and guidance for environmental permitting projects across multiple sectors. Ensures that permit documentation and recommendations accurately describe the results of analyses, addresses environmental impacts and complies with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Assists project leadership with environmental impact assessment, corrective/mitigation strategy development, permitting, and/or restoration activities. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
Your Impact
Lead and provide guidance with data collection efforts for identifying wetlands, streams, marine areas, sensitive habitats, and other natural resources for projects.
Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, and other maps and tools to determine exact locations of project areas, site impact, habitat types, and associated physical and wildlife sensitivities.
Conduct field investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs.
Provide high level oversite for desk-based research, fieldwork, and/or laboratory work, including measurements, data interpretation, and computer modeling.
Analyze literature, data and other sources of information to uncover direct, indirect and cumulative environmental impacts.
Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, cross-sections, and other illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.
Prepare and complete environmental survey reports, technical reports, and permitting activities for Endangered Species Act compliance, Clean Water Act permitting, SEPA, NEPA, and Local Critical Areas and Shoreline Codes.
Prepare documents for local, state, and federal permitting including JARPAs, Biological Assessments, critical areas reports, Hydraulic Project Approvals, Shoreline Management Act compliance.
Ensure regulatory requirement compliance pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention.
Provide environmental risk identification and impact assessment, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level threat mitigation and permitting activities projects to minimize impacts to the health of the environment and the population.
Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams in executing project work, permitting strategy, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance, including project budgets, tracking hours and expenses, and task completion.
Work with contractors to implement in-water work in compliance with applicable environmental permits.
Coordinate with clients, resource/regulatory agencies, and environmental and technical staff in a confident and professional manner.
Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
Assist with development and scoping of medium-to large-sized projects.
Actively engage in business development and proposal writing.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related natural sciences field.
5 to 7 years of experience working as an environmental scientist and completing environmental surveys, habitat and impact assessments, and/or construction monitoring.
Expertise and experience with relevant environmental laws, permitting requirements, notification and compliance practices, and applicable local/state/federal regulatory framework.
Established experience coordinating with clients, regulatory permitting and resource agencies, and environmental technical staff required.
Demonstrated experience leading and reviewing environmental science technical reports, environmental impact evaluations, siting reports, and environmental permit applications, including field surveys and reporting, and resource and impact evaluations.
Highly capable self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree.
Essential professional licensure/certification.
Be proficient with ESRI products including ArcGIS Pro and Online software.
Experience with discipline-specific software (i.e., Autocad)
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

This Opportunity
Provides support to technical staff and project managers for due diligence, subsurface investigation, and remediation projects. Tasks may include conducting geophysical surveys, collecting environmental samples from various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air/vapor), and conducting site exploration and geologic logging using a variety of drilling techniques. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding field conditions, movement, outcome, and the ecological risks of contaminants. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
Your Impact
With minimal supervision, assist with collecting, extracting, identifying, and compiling environmental data from soil sampling, soil gas sampling, groundwater sampling, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other matrices for projects, investigations, and surveys.
Review, integrate, collect data, and perform quality control for geologic, hydrogeologic, and other databases.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements and analysis.
Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and software.
Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but is not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, laboratory documentation, written procedures, and field/work site logbooks.
Assist with maintaining and calibrating equipment and tools, troubleshooting or reporting on malfunctions, and performing inventory control activities.
Attend to well installation monitoring, as well as remediation-system pilot testing, installation, operation and maintenance.
Assist technical staff and project managers with environmental risk identification and assessment, offering input and analysis with low-level threat mitigation activities and remediation projects.
Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field work permitting.
Complete training on assigned tasks.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline.
1 to 3 years of experience working as a Geologist.
Analytical mindset and experience with geological research techniques required.
Familiarity with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products., as well as awareness of mitigation programs.
Highly familiar with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

This Opportunity
WSP is currently recruiting for a Specialist, Asbestos Environmental Technician to support our Texas remediation services Team. The position will be tied to our El Paso, Texas office but we will consider staff living in the Texas Panhandle, Permian Basin area or other locations in West Texas. The ideal candidate will have 5 years proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs.
WSP has multiple on-going projects requiring technician support across a large geographic footprint in West Texas and parts of New Mexico, including Las Cruces, Roswell, Clovis and Carlsbad area. Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED
2 years proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs.
A minimum of 2 years of experience assisting with the implementation asbestos inspection and abatement programs.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects.
Able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and properly document field data.
Proven communication skills

WSP is currently recruiting for an Environmental Remediation Technician to support our Texas remediation services Team. The position will be tied to our El Paso, Texas office but we will consider staff living in the Texas Panhandle, Permian Basin area or other locations in West Texas. The ideal candidate will have 7 years proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs.

Your Impact

Summary of Position:
The BIM Application Specialist uses technical knowledge of BIM software (BIM360/ACC/Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD) to assist the project teams and firm by ensuring consistent implementation and use of BIM processes and software. Your Impact

Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.
