WSP is currently initiating a search for a Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician III - "Analyst" with the option to work out of one of our North Carolina offices to support our Southeast Region Geospatial / Surveying Team. The successful candidate will be part of a team conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering of all levels. Your Impact

• Lead SUE Field Crew in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to utility designating, vacuum excavation, and data collection

• Assist with development and maintenance of site safety plans

• Create a culture of safety observing and complying with all company and related safety rules

• Mentor junior staff, training on utility location and vacuum excavation

• Ensure assigned SUE field project tasks and data collection are quality, accurate, and thorough

• Communicate with office staff on project progress, project needs, equipment needs, etc.

• Engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project activities.

• Occasionally work with utility owners to obtain needed as-built/schematic records

• Complete assigned projects in the field, on schedule and under budget

• Work with office crew to create an accurate and complete deliverable

• Remain current in latest SUE/survey knowledge, techniques, and practices.

• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

• Assist project managers with estimates for project budgets.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of progressive experience in the SUE industry desired

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to work independently, and as part of a diverse team

• Analytical, detail oriented, goal driven, problem solver, self-lead

• Possess excellent communication skills

• Display proficiency with both EM and GPR locating equipment

• Display proficiency in reading utility as-built/schematic records

• Display working knowledge of survey equipment (conventional and GPS)

• Ability to operate vacuum excavation equipment

• Ability to traverse terrain, as project dictates, in all seasons

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs or work as a team to do so

• Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable MVR

• Be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening

• Able to work occasional overtime as project timeline dictates

• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

WSP is searching for a Lead Consultant Civil Engineer for our Charlotte, North Carolina office to be part of our Civil Design service line that supports WSP's power, industrial, and municipal clientele across the southeast. The following locations will also be considered: Asheville, NC , and Greensboro, NC . The position relies heavily on an ability to interact with clients, team leadership skills, and technical knowledge. The successful candidate will have the ability to work on a breadth of civil projects ranging from erosion and sediment control plans, spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) plans, hydraulics and hydrology design, civil grading, and landfill design and closure projects. As a civil engineer, the candidate will be responsible for execution of calculations, design options, reports, agency reviews, and construction drawings for civil design projects. The candidate will have a strong desire to interact with clients and foster long lasting relationships.

Your Impact

• Manage and direct small to medium project design teams

• Prepare scope of work and costing documents for proposals

• Coordinate with other senior engineering staff, lead junior team members, project stakeholders and other disciplines to manage an organized approach to project execution

• Perform professional civil engineering work including design of erosion and sediment control measures in compliance with state requirements, SPCC plans, site grading using AutoCAD Civil3D, hydraulic systems (closed and open conduits), hydrologic analyses, and stormwater management facilities.

• Prepare permit applications and respond to agency (owner) comments in design

• Lead and perform professional civil and environmental engineering work and conduct complex/ comprehensive investigations and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, facilities, site grading, stormwater drainage, water supply, pipelines, groundwater and soil pollution sources, buildings, and power plants to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.

• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; prepare construction safety and phasing plans; and update infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.

• Provide oversight for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, hydrologic analysis, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.

• Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, solid waste facility design, remediation, rehabilitation and reconstruction, specifications, building materials, phasing, and construction safety plans.

• Develop and incorporate advanced technologies, monitoring devices, building materials, modeling techniques, design requirements, and operating strategies to account for the safety and functionality of end-users, sitewide stormwater flow, remediation, and implementing future-ready solutions with civil engineering design standards.

• Assist with engineering review of permit applications, engineering design plans and specifications, standby plans and engineering contracts, integrated waste management plans, and periodic construction inspections, to ensure that they comply with applicable state and/or federal regulations and sound engineering practice and standards.

• Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross-sections, and other illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, concepts, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address engineering, design, and/or construction issues or opportunities.

• Analyze, evaluate, and interpret data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk mitigation activities.

• Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).

• Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

• Collaborate with professionals, other engineers, planners, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related discipline.

• 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design.

• Virginia Professional Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).

• Experience with groundwater and soil remediation, including knowledge of conventional and innovative remedial technologies, contaminant assessment and delineation, equipment evaluation and specification

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a LiDAR Technician (Specialist, Surveying) to support our Northeast Region Geospatial / Surveying Team. The successful candidate will be part of a team conducting registration and extraction of LiDAR data using Leica Cyclone, Microstation, TopoDOT, Autodesk Revit, Civil3D and other software. Your Impact

• -Under direct supervision, assist with terrestrial lidar mapping/extraction for various projects.

• Provides land surveying assistance that accounts for accurate survey data, and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications.

• Demonstrates team work and maintains open communication between the field, office and client.

• Work with Team lead, project managers and other Laser Scan team members in LiDAR registration and extraction.

• Create and review digital models and mapping of LiDAR and other types of traditional survey projects.

• Processing Survey data.

• Perform Terrestrial LiDAR Extraction.

• Perform terrestrial Lidar data acquisition, LiDAR processing, and prepare final deliverables for review.

• Observe and comply with all company and related safety rules.

• Follows state specific standards of practice to provide professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data, and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications.

• Work collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasks.

• Perform point cloud registration with Leica Cyclone point cloud processing software.

• Perform model extraction from the recorded point cloud data using BIM tools. Implement BIM standards as outlined by clients.

• Demonstrate best practices for model organization and modeling technique.

• Ensure that both you and your crews comply daily with WSP and client specific safety guidelines and provide required safety documentation and records.

• Engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project survey activities.

• Remain current in latest survey knowledge, techniques, and practices.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• A High School Diploma is required; Bachelor or advance degree is highly preferred.

• At least 9 years of relevant post education experience OR an equivalent combination of post high school education and relevant experience.

• Experience with Laser Scanning Surveys, AutoCAD, Revit and Microstation software.

• Ability to work independently, and as part of a diverse team.

• A working knowledge of surveying mathematics, land surveying practices and procedures.

• Ability to extract raw laser scanning data and processing point cloud in Leica Cyclone software.

• Experience in Autodesk Revit and 3D modeling from point clouds. BIM360 system understanding.

• Experience with TopoDot, Cyclone 3DR software preferred.

• Able to read drawings, specifications, building codes, and other technical product and material specifications, as well basic DOT feature coding.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Overall knowledge of conducting field operations.

• Understanding of office operations.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

• Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening, including a valid Driver's license.

WSP is seeking a Transmission Line Engineering Manager to join our team in our growing Power & Energy team in Milwaukee, WI. The following locations will also be considered: NY, NY, Boston, MA and Rochester, NY . The Transmission Line Engineering Manager is primarily responsible for supervising a staff of technical designers and engineers responsible for the development of engineering designs, cost estimates, and communication of technical and design information to our customers. The Transmission Line Engineering is a subject matter expert in the design of transmission line projects with voltages from 69 kV to 500 kV HVAC. The Transmission Line Engineering Manager ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and safety code requirements and, at times, will collaborate closely with engineers performing substation, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication design.

Required Qualifications

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Technical Engineering Support Specialist for any of our WSP offices. Provides technical design and CADD support, guidance, and oversight to ensure the production of designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines with a focus on model-based .design. Responsibilities involve overseeing and generating CADD designs on various multi-site/phase construction projects of moderate to larger scale, scope, and/or complexity. Generates and substantiates accurate and concise digital and other related design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, terrain and other solid models, sections, details, specifications, and material lists. Ensures that responsibilities and work product are delivered in compliance with associated , scope and code requirements are adhered to, with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.

Your Impact

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, structural concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications, technical drawings, rough sketches, diagrams, and other matrices to support drafting and design activities for single, multi-phase, or multi-site project work.

• Use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and work closely with engineers to develop design details and/or resolve discrepancies, and to prepare drawings which require a high degree of precision on projects of moderate- to large-scale, complexity, and/or scope.

• Follow standard practices to provide technical design assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper illustration, fit form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance, and quantity calculations, while ensuring the construction and maintainability of designs according to design standard specifications and code requirements.

• Act as consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution; may serve as the only Drafting/Design Support resource on a project or assist in overseeing Drafting/Design Support activities for projects of a moderate/large scope and complexity within a district.

• Monitor and verify accuracy of calculations, design, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, recognizing moderate to slightly intricate construction or engineering problems and escalating or resolving any differences, errors, or technical problems for appropriate resolution.

• Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team to execute project work; occasionally leading tasks and Drafting/Design Support staff on technical assignments.

• Assure plans adhere to city code, state and federal regulations and presentation standards.

• Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineer.

This Opportunity

WSP USA is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be responsible for leading and delivering Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSM&O) consulting, planning, and field inspection services, ,supporting Business Development efforts, and supporting the P3 practice.

The Senior Project Manager position will directly support the Senior Vice President, Program & Construction Management in growing the PMCM Practice in the Mid Atlantic, and will play lead roles in projects. This role will also support the ITS National Practice and the local Traffic Engineering practices in Maryland, Virginia and associated states, as well as the National P3 and Alternative Project Delivery Practice and specific projects. The position will be responsible for field inspection of telecommunications, ITS and tolling field devices for highway projects. The position requires an effective team leader who works cooperatively to deliver projects and programs on time and on-budget, meeting the quality standards per the technical specifications and in accordance with quality, safety and security procedures. The TSM&O Senior Consultant will be client and industry-facing and will build and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, and teaming partners, and will represent the firm and the practice at industry events.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with the WSP Program and Construction Management group as a part-time inspector for transportation projects and other asset types in the Mid Atlantic, and will support the planning, design and consulting activities of the other Practices..

Your Impact

Job Duties:

• Conduct field inspection, QA/QC and IA/IV for telecommunications, ITS and tolling filed device installation

• ITS Planning including Concept of Operations, Functional Requirements and ITS Architecture

• Prepare and/or review ITS design

• Conduct systems engineering activities

• Plan, lead and implement development, renovation and improvement of Traffic Management Centers

• Development ITS and Tolling Operations & Maintenance Plans

• Prepare cost estimates (CAPEX and OPEX) for ITS and tolling systems

• Provide planning and consulting services for Connected/Automated Vehicles (CAV)

• Identify new projects, lead project pursuits, support Business Development in Virginia and Maryland in conjunction with other WSP staff

• Support national P3 practice in conjunction with SVP, providing technical advisory to owners and project proponentsRepresent public agency owners to provide project oversight, guidance and control during construction

• Develop technical specifications and requirements and other components of bid packages.

• Provide Construction Engineering & Inspection services for telecommunications, ITS and Tolling field installation

• Lead and oversee QA/QC and IA/IV efforts on projects

• Work schedule varies according to job assignments and/or contractor schedules, and may include night work, weekends, and holidays; and

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Qualifications:

• Virginia P.E.

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSM&O)

• Experience conducting project site visits

• Similar experience in other asset types such as public buildings, police headquarters, school buildings and fare payment systems is desirable

• Proven ability to manage complex budgets and schedules.

• Transit and/or rail experience is a plus.

• Knowledge of linear construction means and methods

• Understanding of project finance in Design/Build P3 context

• Working skill in operating computer equipment, software programs and field inspection equipment; read and interpret transit rail, roadway, bridge, and structure plans and contract specifications; maintain detailed records, and communicate effectively with agency, contractor personnel and the public.

• Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
