We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Media and Public Relations. This position can be based out of any of WSP regional office locations. This role is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and combines strong organizational skills with a flair for strategic communication.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive public and media relations strategies to enhance the organization's reputation and external visibility with direction from vice president of corporate communications.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists and influencers as directed to secure positive coverage.
Excellent writer/reporter with the ability to collaborate with marketing and communications team members, business executives and subject matter experts to source stories from across the U.S. business and proactively develop pitches in alignment with strategic plan priorities.
Draft compelling, accurate and newsworthy press releases, pitches, speeches, and other thought leadership communications materials to effectively convey key messages and stories about our people and projects.
Contribute to crisis communication efforts, including preparing responses, participation on calls, updates for crisis team and implementation of overall communications plan/timing in alignment with company procedures.
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales and executive leadership, to understand key initiatives and ensure alignment of messaging and objectives.
Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks, bringing actionable ideas and providing insights to vice president, corporate communications, and senior vice president, marketing and communications.
Work with director of corporate communications to engage with a team of communications and media professionals, including three consultant agencies, providing mentorship, guidance and support to achieve overall plan goals.
As needed, coordinate special events and promotional campaigns to generate positive media attention for the firm and related clients.
Measure and analyze the impact of PR initiatives, tracking key metrics and adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
Experience
Deep knowledge and practice of public and media relations
AEC and/or B2B experience highly desirable
Excellent writer: articles, news releases, contributed columns, letters to editor, people profiles, message points, remarks for executives, social media, other content as directed by SVP marketing communications and director corporate communications
Ability to research and source story ideas based on company projects, people, business initiatives, news of the day and current industry events; reporter mentality
Develop assigned content by interviewing internal subject matter experts; drafting engaging materials
Regularly align with business lines and marketers to uncover meaningful, targeted story lines/series
Familiarity with pitching stories to media outlets
Self-starter to generate and develop ideas for WSP's media program and Insights articles
Deadline driven and able to produce work quickly and with minimal editing
Seamlessly manage competing projects and timelines
Well versed in AP style, spelling and grammar
Adhere to WSP corporate brand and style guidelines
Approximately 10+ years prior experience in public or media relations, or external communications
Bachelor's degree

Provides professional accounting and financial specialist support to a project team, reviewing and evaluating project charges for accuracy, completing cost transfers, establishing and updating funding as needed, instituting and maintaining project budgets, and ensuring that all project data is current. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding infrastructure/transportation/professional services projects within Oracle, providing pre-billing information for project manager review, and are accountable for independently reviewing, providing QA/QC on invoices including recommendations to PM and ensuring compliance with the contract. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards, supporting the delivery of future-ready solutions to clients.
Your Impact
Works independently to manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenue; ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations, budget vs. actual cost, and developing and providing project financial performance and profitability to project/program management.
Responsible for lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in Oracle, to tracking projects and project budget, validating invoicing, project close-out, and reconciling overall project payables and receivables to project budgets.
Perform detailed and involved accounting tasks related to managing project contract revenue, billing events, and billing transaction exceptions.
Partner with the Project Manager and project team to establish the project budget, updating budgets as needed when contract modifications or budget changes arise.
Generate project financial reports, evaluating the reports for any items that need to be escalated for review by the Project Manager as necessary.
Authorize access to project accounts, and the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts in compliance with established accounting practices and guidelines.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records using Oracle, spreadsheets, and software.
For assigned projects, apply learned accounting expertise relating to project resources, labor and expenses, investigating project variances and submitting variance reports to management.
Verify contract and change order characteristics, including reading and interpreting contract language, method of compensation, modifications, purchase orders, and subcontract/consultant terms.
Responsible for ensuring draft invoices from billing are accurate based on the contract requirements agreed upon with the client, identifying any corrections needed, obtaining Project Manager documentation and signature, and finalizing the invoice approval with the Project Manager/billing team and submits the invoice to the client.
Subcontract management and coordination with Contract Administrators. This includes evaluating subconsultant invoice submittals for accuracy, establish and maintain purchase orders for subconsultants, and request and follow up on subcontractor payment requests with Accounts Payable.
Identify and record unpaid contract billings, following up on any delinquent accounts receivable and/or unbilled costs.
Respond to requests for more detail from clients, investigate all project expenses not billed to clients, and review and approve all project-related billings to clients.
Attend project-related meetings to inform the team regarding the current status of project financials, articulating problem projects and following up on any identified actions as discussed.
Create and submit government reports related to projects.
Compile information for review by a more Senior Consultant prior to submitting for internal and external auditors as required.
Remain current in latest project accounting principles and subject matter.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).
1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience in accounting, project contracts and change order documents.
Knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and methods and their application to project work-related issues.
Developing an analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound independent judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions with financial implications to the company.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an accounting and non-accounting audience.

Take part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, design, concept development, and construction of roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment. Your Impact

Works independently to manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenue; ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations, budget vs. actual cost, and developing and providing project financial performance and profitability to project/program management.
Responsible for lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in Oracle, to tracking projects and project budget, validating invoicing, project close-out, and reconciling overall project payables and receivables to project budgets.
Perform detailed and involved accounting tasks related to managing project contract revenue, billing events, and billing transaction exceptions.
Partner with the Project Manager and project team to establish the project budget, updating budgets as needed when contract modifications or budget changes arise.
Generate project financial reports, evaluating the reports for any items that need to be escalated for review by the Project Manager as necessary.
Authorize access to project accounts, and the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts in compliance with established accounting practices and guidelines.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records using Oracle, spreadsheets, and software.
For assigned projects, apply learned accounting expertise relating to project resources, labor and expenses, investigating project variances and submitting variance reports to management.
Verify contract and change order characteristics, including reading and interpreting contract language, method of compensation, modifications, purchase orders, and subcontract/consultant terms.
Responsible for ensuring draft invoices from billing are accurate based on the contract requirements agreed upon with the client, identifying any corrections needed, obtaining Project Manager documentation and signature, and finalizing the invoice approval with the Project Manager/billing team and submits the invoice to the client.
Subcontract management and coordination with Contract Administrators. This includes evaluating subconsultant invoice submittals for accuracy, establish and maintain purchase orders for subconsultants, and request and follow up on subcontractor payment requests with Accounts Payable.
Identify and record unpaid contract billings, following up on any delinquent accounts receivable and/or unbilled costs.
Respond to requests for more detail from clients, investigate all project expenses not billed to clients, and review and approve all project-related billings to clients.
Attend project-related meetings to inform the team regarding the current status of project financials, articulating problem projects and following up on any identified actions as discussed.
Create and submit government reports related to projects.
Compile information for review by a more Senior Consultant prior to submitting for internal and external auditors as required.
Remain current in latest project accounting principles and subject matter.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Your Impact
With limited guidance, provides talent acquisition advisory assistance and support for employees and management in designated business unit, region, and/or functional area. Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, or related discipline with major concentration in HR (or equivalent experience).

Responsible for ensuring draft invoices from billing are accurate based on the contract requirements agreed upon with the client, identifying any corrections needed, obtaining Project Manager documentation and signature, and finalizing the invoice approval with the Project Manager/billing team and submits the invoice to the client.
Subcontract management and coordination with Contract Administrators. This includes evaluating subconsultant invoice submittals for accuracy, establish and maintain purchase orders for subconsultants, and request and follow up on subcontractor payment requests with Accounts Payable.
Identify and record unpaid contract billings, following up on any delinquent accounts receivable and/or unbilled costs.
Respond to requests for more detail from clients, investigate all project expenses not billed to clients, and review and approve all project-related billings to clients.
Attend project-related meetings to inform the team regarding the current status of project financials, articulating problem projects and following up on any identified actions as discussed.
Create and submit government reports related to projects.

This Opportunity
Provides professional accounting and financial specialist support to a project team, reviewing and evaluating project charges for accuracy, completing cost transfers, establishing and updating funding as needed, instituting and maintaining project budgets, and ensuring that all project data is current. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding infrastructure/transportation/professional services projects within Oracle, providing pre-billing information for project manager review, and are accountable for independently reviewing, providing QA/QC on invoices including recommendations to PM and ensuring compliance with the contract. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards, supporting the delivery of future-ready solutions to clients.
Your Impact
Works independently to manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenue; ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations, budget vs. actual cost, and developing and providing project financial performance and profitability to project/program management.
Responsible for lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in Oracle, to tracking projects and project budget, validating invoicing, project close-out, and reconciling overall project payables and receivables to project budgets.
Perform detailed and involved accounting tasks related to managing project contract revenue, billing events, and billing transaction exceptions.
Partner with the Project Manager and project team to establish the project budget, updating budgets as needed when contract modifications or budget changes arise.
Generate project financial reports, evaluating the reports for any items that need to be escalated for review by the Project Manager as necessary.
Authorize access to project accounts, and the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts in compliance with established accounting practices and guidelines.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records using Oracle, spreadsheets, and software.
For assigned projects, apply learned accounting expertise relating to project resources, labor and expenses, investigating project variances and submitting variance reports to management.
Verify contract and change order characteristics, including reading and interpreting contract language, method of compensation, modifications, purchase orders, and subcontract/consultant terms.
Responsible for ensuring draft invoices from billing are accurate based on the contract requirements agreed upon with the client, identifying any corrections needed, obtaining Project Manager documentation and signature, and finalizing the invoice approval with the Project Manager/billing team and submits the invoice to the client.
Subcontract management and coordination with Contract Administrators. This includes evaluating subconsultant invoice submittals for accuracy, establish and maintain purchase orders for subconsultants, and request and follow up on subcontractor payment requests with Accounts Payable.
Identify and record unpaid contract billings, following up on any delinquent accounts receivable and/or unbilled costs.
Respond to requests for more detail from clients, investigate all project expenses not billed to clients, and review and approve all project-related billings to clients.
Attend project-related meetings to inform the team regarding the current status of project financials, articulating problem projects and following up on any identified actions as discussed.
Create and submit government reports related to projects.
Compile information for review by a more Senior Consultant prior to submitting for internal and external auditors as required.
Remain current in latest project accounting principles and subject matter.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).
1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience in accounting, project contracts and change order documents.
Knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and methods and their application to project work-related issues.
Developing an analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound independent judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions with financial implications to the company.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an accounting and non-accounting audience.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Proficient with technical writing, office automation and accounting software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, MS Excel, pivot tables, formulas, data format/sort/filter, predictive models, and tools.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply learned subject matter and technical knowledge to reach conclusions from data collation, documentation, statistical analysis, and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.

Leads CPI operations and staff for the US.
Oversees project delivery, business line operations, and performance metrics for CPI including direct labor, indirect labor, fringe, operating expenditures, and more.
Prepares and gives briefings and presentations of CPI's services to WSP US leaders across the firm

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing the integration, roll out and embedding for success of Cornerstone Content Anytime into all regions of WSP both on Oracle system and other regional systems as required. Your Impact
Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Cornerstone, Oracle and other systems regional systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements for the Cornerstone Project and translate them into operational realities.
Provide technical expertise in Oracle HCM Cloud integration including but not limited to Leaning Journeys, Course curation, training records, new product release impact and measuring ROI.
