We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Anchorage, AK!

Pay to be $20-$24 per hour, DOE.

Key Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:

• Communicate with controllers, billing manager, and office leads on a regular basis

• Expert in RMO billing system

• Strong understanding of RCA regulation

• Learn rate structure for all 15 sites in Denali Division

• Create custom billing reports for special contracts and broker accounts

• Complex customer account audits

• Collections phone calls, e-mail blasts, call blasts

• Stop accounts that have been suspended for non-payment

• Validate credit balances & request customer refund payments

• Validate past due balances & write off accounts to collection agency

• Assist with training & development of new customer service employees in RMO

• Review and post deposit, charge/credit batches, review and poste work orders

• Run audit reports prior to monthly billing & make necessary account corrections

• Cross train on all functions of the billing department including EFT deposits, cash deposits, cash reconciliation, electronic payment scrub files.

• Encourage increased inter-department communication at all sites

• Support customer service call center as needed during high call volumes or when short staffed

• Other duties & special projects as assigned by billing and accounting team

• Contact customers to inform them of delays or missed pick-up; communicate revised timelines for pick-ups

• Call customers to inform them of on-site issues (e.g., blocked driveway) that need to be resolved in order for Waste Connections to complete pick-up

• Relay customer needs for increase or decrease to current level of service obtained from driver (e.g., insufficient containers) to Sales team to follow up re: changes to existing services

• Enter codes (e.g., dry run) on customer order to ensure correct billing information

• Close out and finalize routes from previous day (generate reports for management)

• 2-3 years of customer service/office admin experience

• High-volume call center or inbound calling experience
