DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this position you will be operating a roll off truck on a specified route.
Ability to read route tablet and service each customer identified on the Route Tablet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 4:30am to 2:30pm, with an occasional Saturday as needed, Average 45 hour work week.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Disposing of contents from Garbage cans Manually into the back of the Garbage truck.
Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.

Pierce County Refuse in Fredrickson is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join the accounting team. The Payroll Clerk will help coordinate payroll for multiple districts in union and non-union environments. This is a great opportunity for a dedicated individual who is a hard worker and enjoys problem-solving and new challenges in an ever-changing and growing environment.
Schedule will be Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM. The pay range will be $25 - $30 per hour.
Duties:
Perform all essential functions required to process payroll in an accurate and timely manner, using Workday software.
Payroll related data entry
Provide assistance to employees at all locations on day-to-day payroll questions and concerns, showing a high level of support and top-quality customer service
Answer general pay and deduction questions from employees, including helping them understand paystub information, maintaining absolute confidentiality
Provide support to employees/supervisors needing assistance with time entry, in order to facilitate accurate information and expedite approval procedures
Provide weekly follow up with location to ensure all time entries are completed and approved in a timely manner
Ensure accuracy of payroll data and timeliness of payroll in accordance to legal requirements and company policies. Review bi-weekly check registers for accuracy.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships and communication with business leaders
Assist with projects and other duties as needed
Understanding union contracts thoroughly to ensure proper implementation of payroll and time-off policies. As well as calculating payments of union benefits per union contract.
Requirements
Relevant accounting and payroll experience and education
Ability to work well while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Proficient in MS Office - strong Excel skills
Ability to develop strong working relationships with business unit leaders

5:00 am start time working a 45-55 hour work week, 10-12 hour days. A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Saturday, with a 5 day work week.

Responsibilities Include:
Ability to diagnose and repair heavy fleet vehicles in shop and on road calls.
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Test drive trucks after services and repairs
Ability to effectively communicate and understand service schedule and/or repairs
General shop maintenance/cleaning duties as needed
Equipment safety checks
Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Qualified candidate must have:
Demonstrated experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair. Completion of accredited vocational technical school a plus
Drivers license. CDL highly preferred
Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting issues on road calls
Basic tool set, tool box and proper personal safety equipment as required
Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software

Responsibilities:
Supervise personnel, and performance management through employee evaluations, training, work allocation, problem resolution and enforcing progressive discipline.
Approaching all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Manage daily administrative operations of a department including establishing work priorities; assist in resolving problems related to the day-to-day operations of the unit
Manage Purchase Orders for the district, process invoices for payment, mail checks to vendors, answer vendor questions.
Review, reconcile, and evaluate monthly ledgers, budgets, and financial reporting system reports, assist with fiscal planning, development, and management of annual budgets
Oversee, coordinate, maintain, and/or process payroll time sheets, sick and annual leave documents, travel reimbursements, purchasing documents, and/or employment documents for faculty, staff, and students
Provide and/or oversee the provision of administrative assistance and support to the district manager, to include problem solving, project planning and management, fiscal management, day-to-day office coordination, and secretarial services
Assist with the development and implementation of reporting procedures; oversee maintenance of department records and/or inventories
Oversee and provide personal computer functions such as scheduled and special reports, correspondence, and database management
May coordinate office assignments for the administrative staff
Coordinate department programs, seminars, workshops, travel arrangements, special projects, and/or events; may coordinate program/project development and planning
Other duties assigned as needed
Promote Waste Connections standard operating procedures, which assure efficient environmentally correct and safe workplace practices.
Demonstrate the ability to become proficient in the use of proprietary operational systems.
Requirements:
3+ years directly related management expertise in administration
Previous Management duties is preferred.
Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
Organizing and coordinating skills
Knowledge of accounting procedures
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Knowledge of management principles and practices
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control

Ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned by the Controller.
What this Position Requires:
1+ years of accounting experience preferred
Post-Secondary School degree/diploma with courses in accounting preferred
Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Detailed and able to navigate through competing priorities and deadlines.
Great written and oral communication skills.
Self-driven and takes initiative to improve processes and problems.

Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed, 50 hour work week.
