This opportunity entails being responsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project's profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB's 4 for 4 (Consistent delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client's satisfaction on every project) performance. Responsible for gross revenue of $10M-30M.

What You'll Do:

  • Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction.

  • Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.

  • Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.

  • Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.

  • Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree

  • 16 years relevant experience

  • In lieu of education, 20 years relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Responsible for conducting work in full compliance with the different commuter, LRT, BRT and intercity rail organizations safety departments, FTA, FRA, TSA, OSHA, along with all applicable local, state and federal safety guidelines/regulations.

  • Leads, summarizes, reviews and creates formal written reports delivered to the client for assessment and action.

  • Conducts audits of systems, equipment, and facilities documentation to check for compliance with current codes and regulations. Leads, reviews, and updates existing documents based on applicable oversight agency, including federal and local, for compliance.

  • Prepares reports for government agencies, American Public Transportation Association (APTA), and as requested.

  • Assists with implementation and coordination of audit related activities associated with the client's Safety Plan. Solicits input from relevant departments for required language and content for the program plan to meet State and Federal statutes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Make certain that the transit agencies safety and security objectives are integrated throughout all phases of our projects.

  • Developing various Safety and Security Certification Plans (SSCP)

  • Create Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP) documents

  • Support and review Preliminary Hazards Analyses (PHA)

  • Support and review Operational Hazards Analyses (OHA)

  • Support and review Threat and Vulnerability Assessments (TVA) including Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) tool

  • Be available to review and comment on any other documentation commensurate with track, BRT, and systems design, operations & construction such as the development of Certifiable Elements Lists (CEL), Verification Reports, and updates to Project Management Plans (PMPs)

  • 30 percent of travel time expected for the position, where the travel occurs, such as locally or in specific states, and the travel is overnight.

  • FTA Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (PTSCTP) certification

  • Certified Safety Professional

  • Safety Auditor certification

  • Internal Auditor certification

What You'll Do:

  • Ensures financial integrity and transparency by adhering to and monitoring compliance to internal and external governance requirements (HNTB policies and procedures, Client requirements, Industry standard accounting requirements and Government requirements).

  • Analyzes contracts, reports, and, key metrics to provide project assessment to team members in areas of budget, profitability, earnings variances, cash flow, and select contract compliance requirements/metrics. May create tools/independent spreadsheets to help analyze burn rate/earned value, earnings variances, cash projections, and other key project performance metrics.

  • Provides input to the overall Project Management Plan in areas affecting cost and profitability, includes communicating project specific contract guidelines and/or procedures to project teams and ensuring adherence to those items.

  • Assist project managers/other team members with proactive financial review/analysis and documentation for project review meetings. Communicates relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) affecting project performance. May document meeting minutes/relevant actions items from review meetings.

  • Assists with effective cash management by creating and/or maintaining cash flow management plans.

  • Assists project team members with the procurement process. Assists in review of contracts/request for proposals (RFPs) under guidance from other team members. Reviews and provides risk and opportunity information using historical client/project data and research.

  • Facilitates and assists in preparations and review of cost proposals and corresponding profitability review. Provides financial review of fee proposals.

  • Gives guidance/training to Project Management Staff/other office personnel on HNTB Processes and best practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or relevant degree

  • 2 years' experience in financial/project analysis or similar position

This opportunity entails the coordination of a broad range of administrative functions typically in support of larger, more complex offices which may consist of multiple locations. Serves as primary management liaison for staff regarding administration issues. Manages office workload and coverage, and manages performance of direct report.

What You'll Do:

  • Performs administrative duties in support of office staff including, coordinating and scheduling calendar appointments, meetings and travel, preparing a variety of correspondence under general guidance, receiving and directing incoming calls and welcoming visitors. Furnishes information and responds to routine correspondence when necessary. Coordinates the receipt, distribution and delivery of mail both to and from the office.

  • Coordinates local policy and procedures with the appropriate corporate and/or divisional functions to ensure full and complete procedures are in place covering assigned areas. Recommends changes in process or procedure to management.

  • Prepares reports, gathering and summarizing a variety of data from multiple sources. Organizes and maintains office files (electronic and hardcopy) and records in accordance with internal retention policy and procedures.

  • Prepares and submits expense reports on behalf of office staff, securing and maintaining supporting documentation and ensuring accurate coding of expense items. Supports Accounts Payable functions by accurately coding and processing invoices. May provide supervision and direction to A/P staff.

  • Tracks and coordinates the acquisition and distribution of materials, supplies and equipment. Maintains inventory of furniture and equipment. Working with Corporate Procurement and facilities, assists with office moves. Coordinates with facilities on any building maintenance issues. May track mileage and ensure maintenance of vehicle fleet.

  • Organizes and coordinates events for the office.

  • Delivers new hire orientation when needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

  • 8 years related experience

This opportunity entails being responsible managing assigned project(s) throughout their full lifecycle including developing the scope and technical sections of proposal and procurement documents to participating in contract negotiations and overseeing the delivery of the project plan to successfully accomplish HNTB's 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client's satisfaction on every project. This position proactively manages the budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications in support of the project's objectives. Provides high level technical tasks while managing and reviewing design related specifications, calculations, reports and plans. Coordinates with internal and external partners including cross-discipline and functional teams to address and problem solve design related issues or concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).

  • Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction. Leads client contract scoping and negotiations.

  • Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.

  • Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.

  • Responsible for/oversees project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.

  • Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mega and super mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic, mini-mega or mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.

  • May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience

  • 4 years of successful management of engineering projects

What You'll Bring:

  • Winning, contracting, and successfully delivering 4for4 (on-time, on-budget, quality, client satisfaction) on multi-disciplined or large/complex projects. Identifying and handling risk and change management independently.

  • Leading large teams inside and outside of HNTB using sub-consultants.
