The Role

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

Must Have

Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate

  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

  • High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

Nice to Have

Seeking Engineering Technician 3 to partner with E44 Ford Class Platform new construction E44 Technical Point of Contact. Responsibilities and preferred skills include:

- Looking for an engaging individual who is well spoken, ready to sort out issues for clarity sake, resourceful, experienced in communicating messaging, and who has good deck plate skills through NNS or the US Navy enlisted ranks.

- Knowledge base in electrical ship systems; namely associated with instrumental, controls, and networks.

- Knowledge of the Shipboard Test Program.

- Will work in tandem with the E44 Technical Point of Contact and E44 Subject Matter Experts to provide the following support:

- Provide waterfront liaison support as may be necessary

- Agenda meeting support, coordination with team leads to resolve issues

- Support Ford Class Platform new construction Design product meetings with the E44 TPOC as required

- Support Ford Class Platform new construction Test agenda meetings as required

- Run interference interdepartmentally with the waterfront during times of high volume activity

- Event Management: Monitor, detect, analyze and respond to events

- Provide system analysis, troubleshooting and integration support as required

The Role

Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

This position is part of the Newport News Shipbuilding Reactor Servicing Engineering group, responsible for providing design and engineering support to service Navy nuclear reactors. The Role

The Role

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. The Role

Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Simulates real-time operations and develops software that simulates behavior of systems. Develops integrates and uses advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures. Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience

Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience

Ph.D. and 0 years of relevant experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • 4 years of modeling/simulation experience

  • Successful completion from a Modeling and Simulation Apprenticeship Program

The Role

The selected candidate will operate various bridge and gantry cranes. Candidates should possess the ability to perform basic math skills to include simple area, volume, weight calculations and center of gravity. Must be able to learn universal hands signals for proper crane operation.

Candidates must be able to climb, work at heights, and lift a minimum of 40 lbs

Must be able to work any shift

High school graduate or equivalent

The Role

Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process. Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules. Purchases, plans, and coordinates resulting material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences. The Role

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Ability to obtain a Confidential Clearance is required.

Additional responsibilities include:

Serve in the capacity of Re-Entry Control (REC) certifier.

Aid in the establishment of a formal training and qualification program for Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS).

Qualify as QAS and perform Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) reviews.

Provide assistance formulating responses to Special Emphasis Problem Resolution Sheets (SEPRS).

Provide direct assistance to the SUBSAFE Program Director (SSPD) by ensuring that training adequately supports personnel involved in Special Emphasis work and certification processes.

Develop and maintain a formal method for conducting reviews of REC packages.

Must Have

The Role

Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process. Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules. Purchases, plans, and coordinates resulting material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences. In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. The Role

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Provides technical program and equipment expertise in the area of both COTS and GOTS CBRN equipment.

  • Conducts preventative and corrective maintenance and functional testing equipment.

  • Identifies systemic problem trends and/or recurring equipment quality issues and provides feedback to supervisors and field units.

  • Recommends actions to resolve logistics management and operational problems with the goal of optimizing and improving current processes and systems.

  • Gathers and disseminates logistical information including readiness reports, pending shipment status, maintenance records, etc.

  • Tracks supported unit's inventory and prepares order quantities.

  • Tracks resupply activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of experience

  • Logistics experience

  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Military background

  • Familiarization with the DCRF Mission.

  • Familiarization with emergency management principles.

  • Familiarization with OSHA and NFPA regulations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarization with using Logistic Information System(s).
