Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of HII is immediately seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our growing team at our Hanover, MD location.
This position will support a mission management tool called the Minotaur Mission Processor. Minotaur ingests data from various sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to enhance an operator's ability to identify tracks from various on-board sensors, from both sea and land, that is utilized in all branches of the military. Responsibilities would include developing prototype solutions to unaddressed, critical military operational shortfalls through research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation as a member of an established team that has fielded numerous highly regarded capabilities. Subject areas differ widely over time, but current projects focus on improving the exploitation of airborne sensor data through object tracking, multi-sensor correlation, and operational data display.
Possible Duties:
Research and concept development for solutions to unaddressed, critical military operational shortfalls.
System design and software implementation of proof-of-concept prototypes incorporating a variety of engineering disciplines: control theory, software development, signal/video processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, artificial intelligence, high performance computing, applied mathematics, network/web services, and visualization.
Support prototype evaluation, experimental operations at military facilities, and transitions of capabilities to government.
Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground and/or flight tests
Develop software interfaces to control and collect data from sensors
Potential to fly on aircraft to support system integration and train operators
Design and implementation of graphical user interfaces to meet customers' demands and needs.
Willing to travel between 10-20 % of the time.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Physics, Mathematics, or any related field of study

Summary
Mission Technologies a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Mobility Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (MAF DMO) in Orlando, FL. The selected candidate will provide technical solutions for MAF DMO standards development, verify interoperability of simulators and equipment on the network, execute MAF events as scheduled and perform integration and test of MAF DMO Aircrew Training Systems (ATS) platforms onto the Distributed Training Center Network (DTCN) per Air Mobility Command (AMC) MAF DMO Flight Plan.

What you will do
Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Develops software that simulates behavior of users and systems. Develops, integrates and uses graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and provides decision support for alternative architectures. Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis. May build and design training models.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Provide technical support to Coalition and MAJCOM training exercises.
Participate in software requirements development.

What you will do
Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Develops software that simulates behavior of users and systems. Develops, integrates and uses graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and provides decision support for alternative architectures. Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis. May build and design training models.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Manage and direct all proposal efforts to include preparation, revision, and submission; establishes and enforce the proposal schedule. Clarify, communicate, and enforce the roles and responsibilities of the proposal team members.
Collaborate with the capture manager, subject matter experts, and other writers to refine proposal sections to ensure accuracy, compliance, consistency, and reflection of win strategies. Also, finalize staffing plans, and management plans, and identify Past Performance references.
Work with the Pricing Manager to maintain the schedule for price reviews, BOE development (as necessary), and cost narrative development.
Lead/facilitate/drive the discussion during solution strategy sessions with the capture manager, volume lead(s), and subject matter experts; capturing and helping to document customer hot buttons, win themes, our approach/solution, and features and benefits at the level required for a compelling proposal response.
Work with the color review leads to convene color teams and prepare color team packages. Lead color review recovery from post-review assessment to providing guidance for implementation of approved content changes and modifications.
Maintain version control throughout the RFP response lifecycle; ensuring proposal artifacts are secured at all times.
Remain current on all solicitation modifications and communicates them to the team. Revise, schedule, outline, and compliance matrix as necessary throughout the proposal life cycle.
Ensure proposal compliance, checking submissions for compliance regularly throughout the proposal cycle.

Enable the Agency to maintain a portfolio that aligns programs, projects and operations with IT and Agency strategy
Play a key role in the implementation of a project portfolio management module (ServiceNow) to support portfolio analysis, demand management (pipeline management), resource allocation, budget formulation, cost modeling, and program execution and reporting
Develop and maintain investment management processes for a DoD agency IT portfolio. Develop Visio diagrams and workflows that demonstrate the progression of an IT concept, the management of portfolio components, and the alignment of portfolio components to DoD portfolio databases and web portals
Work with the IT Policy Manager to document role-based procedures that will facilitate standardization and, when implemented, result in consistent stakeholder behavior
Assist in developing, securing buy-in, and facilitating investment scoring models and criteria so that an IT portfolio can be easily prioritized and ranked
Facilitate the control and evaluation process to monitor IT investment health and overall performance
Review cost, schedule, scope, quality, and overall risks for significant portfolio variances and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
Collaborate with business partners on problem identification, solution development, and alternative analysis
Facilitate the development of presentation materials and ancillary persuasive communication that will allow agency investment governance review boards to understand the proposed solution, analyze courses of action (COAs) and make decisions on its viability
Assist in facilitating internal stakeholders through an agency intake process for potential IT projects
Facilitate the process of business case development and analysis. Assist project managers in updating cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and analysis of alternatives (AoA)
Support an IT portfolio's alignment with investment data from authoritative data sources such as Defense Information Technology Portfolio Repository (DITPR), Select and Native Programming Data Input Systems for Information Technology (SNaP-IT), Integrated Business Framework - Data Alignment Portal (IBF-DAP), and Defense Information Technology Investment Portal (DITIP)
Collaborate with EA to maintain compliance of defense business systems (DBS) with applicable laws, regulations, policies (LRP)
Summarize evaluation performance results for senior management to make decisions about system assets
Develop executive level governance board content and assist in developing board review packages
Assist in determining education needs of stakeholders and facilitate training

What we are looking for

Essential Job Responsibilities

- Ensure current security testing and evaluation software is sufficient to the task of conducting infrastructure security testing and regularly look for and recommend additional software that may fill gaps in current security testing toolset.
- Conduct analysis of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability scans and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to assess the cyber security posture of the networks and systems of the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).
- Provide subject matter expertise concerning known vulnerabilities, and become knowledgeable of newly released vulnerabilities, and discuss methods of exploitation, methods of mitigation or remediation, severity of impact and other pertinent considerations of vulnerabilities.
- Perform risk analysis/independent verification on security configuration and STIG finding risk reports / POA&Ms for devices on the network.
- Identify the applicable NIST 800-53 security controls or policies that correspond to any finding identified via manual or automated testing, to a specific CVE, IT technologies, or any other physical or logical subject.
- Conduct compliance reporting
- Enforce vulnerability management processes
- Create customized scanning/testing configurations within testing tools to suit security configuration requirements.
- Coordinate ASI details and planning as needed.
- Maintain system patches, O/S, and ESS STIG compliance.

The Role

The Role
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM, NX, or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. The Role
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Essential Job Responsibilities
Maintain the operational readiness of the LVC federation, ensuring that all systems are calibrated and synchronized for upcoming training exercises. Also plans for scalability by anticipating future needs and integrating additional capabilities without disrupting ongoing operations.
Oversee the implementation and management of DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) protocols to ensure effective and standardized data exchange and interoperability among the various components of the LVC training federation. Ensures all systems are compliant with these protocols to facilitate seamless live, virtual, and constructive interactions.
Stand up and configure HLA federations specifically for training exercises, ensuring that all participating systems are properly integrated and synchronized to support the planned scenarios. Monitors the federation's performance throughout the exercise to troubleshoot and optimize in real time.
Manage and synchronize enumerations across all simulation platforms to ensure they match the master class list. This involves updating and maintaining a consistent and accurate representation of entities, activities, and interactions within the LVC training environment to prevent conflicts and ensure data integrity.
Regularly assess and ensure compatibility of all simulation systems with DIS and HLA protocols. This includes verifying that hardware and software configurations adhere to protocol specifications and can interoperate within the established LVC architecture without issues.
Coordinate and manage system updates and upgrades to maintain protocol compatibility. Shall ensure that all system modifications enhance integration with DIS and HLA environments, supporting the broader objectives of the LVC federation.
Conduct rigorous integration testing across different systems participating in the federation to verify their compatibility with DIS and HLA protocols. Identify and address integration issues that could hinder interoperability or performance during LVC exercises.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues specifically related to DIS and HLA protocols. This includes troubleshooting problems during live exercises, virtual simulations, or constructive scenario implementations that stem from protocol misconfigurations or incompatibilities.
Provide real-time technical support during LVC training exercises, ensuring that any DIS and HLA related issues are quickly identified and addressed to minimize impact on training effectiveness.
Perform root cause analysis for recurrent or critical issues associated with DIS and HLA protocols. Document findings and implement long-term solutions to prevent future occurrences, enhancing system reliability and training accuracy.
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS)
- Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP

Job Description
Mission Technologies a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Buyer III as part of the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE). This is a hybrid position working out of Fairfax, VA or Norfolk, VA. The individual will represent the organization as a prime contact on contracts and projects and interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. The candidate may also develop and deliver presentations. This opportunity resides with Live, Virtual, Constructive Solutions, a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Essential Job Responsibilities
Procures, sources and negotiates the buying of machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Monitors performance of suppliers. Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions. Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

Minimum Qualifications
6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
Proficient in the use of PC's and MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) Deltek Costpoint Experience desired and other desktop applications software and electronic mail programs.
MUST currently possess and be able to maintain an active Secret clearance.
Preferred Requirements
Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards and full knowledge of industry practices.
Physical Requirements
Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
