BCD Meetings & Events: Audio Engineer - Hybrid in Chicago, IL
BCD is looking for an inhouse Audio Engineer to operate as an A1 for small shows and A2 for large programs. All the benefits and consistency of full-time employment while utilizing audio operation expertise.
The Audio Engineer, A1, designs and runs event audio for events - from broadcast to live. An A1 has experience in audio setups and equipment. This role works predominantly on-site, traveling to live events, broadcasts, and hybrid events. The position also does technical research on new equipment and manages BCD equipment.
This person has a background in audio and is a flexible team player who is willing to go the extra mile while maintaining work-life-balance. This position reports to the Director of Event Management.

Traveling regularly

Lifting up to 50lbs and working with equipment and large cases
Understanding of audio, power, and rigging in terms of PA systems

Troubleshooting efficiently in high pressure circumstance

You should know:
This role requires significant travel and office work for equipment storage.
There will be time spent working from home.
Travel for this role is 50-70%, international and domestic.

About the role:
We are looking for a Meeting Planner to join our dynamic team. In this client-facing role, you will act as the event planning lead and project manager. You will collaborate with peers and vendors alike to ensure each event is executed flawlessly from site selection to registration, to room set & menu planning through onsite execution, budget reconciliation and everything in between. As a Meeting Planner you will:
Plan and execute from start to finish all logistics related to Professional Education and Commercial Education events.
Act as the main point of contact for your client, and ensure all milestones are clearly communicated and met. Be consultative in your approach. Afterall, you are an expert in event management.
Work with your clients and peers on obtaining an ideal venue for each event.
Build, monitor and maintain concise and accurate event budgets. Think outside of the box on creative cost savings ideas. Negotiate vendor contracts and build long lasting partnerships.
Create clear & simple attendee communications and registration websites. Create a well-timed and accurate communication plan.
Communicate effectively with all hotel & vendor partners. You'll handle hotel rooms, designing and communicating room sets, AV/Production needs, offsite events, ground transportation, and signage (and more!).
Ensure everyone, from client to attendee to staff person, has a positive and memorable experience from invitation stage through onsite and departure. We aim to please!
You're good at:

About the role:
We are seeking a Program Manager at BCD Meetings & Events to serve as the focal point from the Client's event team, representing the client brand with vendor partners and key stakeholders. As a Program Manager you are responsible for developing and executing all necessary logistics for multiple client programs. The Program Manager is supported by a Program Coordinator and together, act as advisors to the client to ensure a seamless program.

Create a targeted plan for selling products and services to existing clients. Includes expansion, retention, and bid avoidance.
Develop and maintain good relationships with prospects and existing client key contacts and decision makers continually looking for opportunities to present and sell products and service
Coordinate product p ricing strategies with the commercial decision maker
Us e sales and marketing materials and BCD Travel product demonstration sites to present to prospects and clients during presentations and meetings to sell solutions offered by BCD Travel
Recruit, manage and coach a team of virtual, global solutions engineers. Set goals and deliverables
Assign engineers to each opportunity, and ensure all activity is tracked in the company CRM
Own the budget for the Solutions Engineer team
Provide input from your team to the pricing, commercial and product teams on ways to enhance and collect revenues for products and services
Provide and train self-service demo capabilities for certain products
Ensure that all client negotiations are consistent with the company's commercial policy
Provide business planning as requested by sales management
Use the diagnostic and benchmarking tools to conduct an analysis and recommendation that lead to solutions offered by BCD Travel for prospects and clients.

About you
Minimum of 10+ years of business travel industry experience
College degree with an institute of repute
Fluency in a second major language is a plus

Strong BCD product knowledge
Effective communication skills, oral, written, and presentation
Excellent commercial English language skills
Experienced with Microsoft business software applications
Ability to liaise between key contacts & foster relationships within/outside of the organization
Exposure to third party providers, client purchasing teams, travel industry consultants & strategic travel industry suppliers
Thorough knowledge of business travel management and supplier landscape
Travel +50% of the time both domestically and internationally

Search and confirm travel reservations for the customer
Strong understanding of a client travel policy and can appropriately guide and consistently provide consultation to the customer
Provide travel offers and general travel advice to travelers
Respond to requests accurately and completely
Excellent knowledge and application of travel supplier rules
Provide the client with the required industry information, such as low fares, exchange costs and penalties
Fulfill all requests regarding necessary regulations (DOT, TSA, passports, visas, etc.)
Actively support other team members within and across teams
