Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to be based in University Park, PA

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2025. This position will support the Penn State Beaver Stadium Renovation project.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work

knowledge and abilities, The responsibilities of this position include, but are

not limited to:

  • Assist in overseeing activities of construction crafts/trades within an assigned

area of responsibility.

  • Receives continual supervision and direction in the performance of assigned

responsibility.

  • Receives technical and operational direction from the assigned

Superintendent or Project Manager.

  • Assists with the planning and coordination of sub-contractor activities within

the area of responsibility.

  • Monitor's subcontractor personnel to ensure adherence with project plans

and promotes quality control of all installations.

  • Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by Field

Management.

  • Assists with compliance of the AECOM Hunt safety program that creates a

safe and healthy work environment on the jobsite.

  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and

other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and

accurate including but not limited to updating drawings, RFIs, submittals,

meeting minutes and other documents as required.

  • When requested, interfaces with client, architect, and design professionals to

ensure compliance to design intent and client satisfaction.

  • Contribute to building good communications between field management,

project management, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and specialty

contractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and

company quality standards.

  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge

and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation

and productivity.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a large general contractor.

  • Previous relevant internship experience.

  • Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.

  • Experience engaging with multiple trades on a construction project.

Our NYC Interiors studio is actively seeking a dynamic Interiors Practice Leader for our Buildings + Places business unit who will function as the practice leader to grow, inspire and build the Interiors practice in the NY Metro area market.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :

  • Provide strategic vision and day-to-day administration of the Interiors group

  • Responsible for development and execution of goals, business plan and profitability, aligning efforts with regional and national business unit plans and goals

Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a Commercial Manager / Contracts Specialist to join our Transportation Construction Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as part of the Transportation construction management team. The projects include Transit infrastructure improvements throughout the NY Metro Region and in NJ. The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Identify conditions that could lead to a change order or claim. Negotiate design and/or construction change orders, preparing and processing the change order forms for MTA C&D signatures in accordance with MTA C&D procedures and guidelines

  • Prepare additional work order packages working in conjunction with MTA C&D procurement personnel. Review the contract documents and validate the justification for the additional work orders. Develop scopes of work and cost estimates. Coordinate, negotiate, and process all change orders

  • Analyze schedule and cost impact of all additional work orders. Where the Design-Build Contractor is performing approved additional work on a time and material basis, verify daily the amount of time and material provided and inform MTA C&D whether this work is progressing in a timely fashion

  • Maintain an up-to-date log of change orders and the status of each change order. Submit the log monthly to MTA C&D

  • Maintain a file of any claims and delays, along with associated costs and causes submitted by the Design-Build Contractor. Make cost and schedule recommendations at the time the claim or delay arises. Make recommendations regarding extensions of time, evaluate if delay is impactable, and if so, estimate impact costs. Verify the validity of requests, the material quantities, labor rates, and labor hours. Submit final recommendations to MTA C&D for approval. Prepare and submit claim responses as required.

  • BA/BS + 10 years of related transportation experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring Wisconsin roadways and providing real-time traveler information for planned and unplanned events impacting traffic and congestion using various Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) tools such as closed-circuit television, changeable message signs, ramp meters, traffic detectors, etc.

  • Real-time assessment of all incoming traffic data and prioritization of content and traffic reporting needs

  • Regular communication with first responders, law enforcement dispatchers, field technicians, and public service agencies to determine the severity of traffic incidents for dissemination to the motoring public

  • Locating, verifying, and monitoring of unplanned incidents, construction, special events and any other issues impacting traffic flow and/or motorist safety

  • Maintains traffic incident reports for incidents occurring on WI state highways

  • Assesses large volumes of data from a wide variety of sources to detect possible traffic incidents

  • Provides real-time status and situational awareness updates on control room activities such as significant incidents, special events, construction, etc.

  • Responsible for monitoring the functionality of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices including CCTV cameras, message boards, detectors, ramp meters, etc. and creating maintenance requests for devices

  • Perform functions similar to an emergency dispatcher within a call center environment dispatching various resources

  • Responsible for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of all information disseminated

  • Attend trainings and staff meetings as requested possibly outside of normal schedule

AECOM is seeking a Program Operations Manager to oversee a staff of over 100 full-time professionals, based out of our client's Virginia Beach and Hampton facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing client policy implementation, quality control, inter- and intra- Virginia governmental agency coordination efforts, regional contract management, and maintaining effective staffing levels.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact, on-site, for the client agency

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced person in traffic management control room operations to be the Quality Control (QC) Manager in Miami, Florida at the SunGuide Transportation Management Center (TMC). The SunGuide TMC is a 24/7 operation responsible for traffic and incident management for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six. District Six covers Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. This position is responsible for monitoring the quality of traffic event data entered by TMC Control Room operations staff and its impact on project performance metrics.

The QC Manager should have comprehensive knowledge of other positions at the TMC such as the Construction Coordinator, Shift Supervisor and TMC Operator. The QC Manager is expected to perform the Shift Supervisor and Control Room Staff tasks efficiently. The QC Manager may need to perform TMC Operator tasks during peak times and when TMC Operators are on breaks and/or leave. The QC Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Performing and managing the Quality Control of data in accordance with project procedures. This includes grading TMC Control Room staff recorded events, entering TMC Control Room staff errors into the OpQC software, and running reports on Control Room staff performance.

  • Monitoring and reporting adherence to the TMC Control Room Standard Operating Guidelines and Standard Employee Guidelines.

  • Providing support and supervision in the Control Room during shifts.

  • Supporting the training of new Control Room staff and keeping training material up-to date.

  • Coaching Control Room staff on areas needing improvement and recognizing when Control Room staff has made improvements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

We are looking for a proposal specialist to support strategic growth and winning work, for Federal, State and Local clients, in the disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation sectors. Job Responsibilities:

Proposal Management Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of compliant and compelling RFP/RFI responses for large (>$15 - $20M+), Federal, State and Local pursuits from capture through to interview stage, as required.

  • In partnership with the Capture Manager, leading/participating in Go/No-Go, capture planning and positioning activities and develop the win strategies, themes, discriminators, source content, graphic concepts, and other writer guidance.

  • Review and translate RFP and amendment requirements into a compliance matrix, annotated proposal outline, and content plans. Monitor and respond to amendments.

  • Write and/or edit proposal content such as executive summaries, past performance sections, management approaches, and resumes/staffing sections; and providing detailed writing guidance to others for the development of technical and pricing sections.

  • Lead Pink and Red reviews and serve as a reviewer on teams for DRS Federal pursuits, applying insight and knowledge related to this specific market sector.

  • This position has accountability for the quality, compliance and timely delivery of the final deliverable.

  • Supporting debriefs, after action reviews, and gathering of client feedback on proposals to provide continuous improvement.

  • May serve as an active mentor to other proposal specialists.

Marketing Communications Responsibilities

These activities include preliminary engineering for environmental approval, preliminary engineering for procurement, alternative technical concepts, detail design, and railroad and utility interfaces.

  • Coordinating cross functional engineering reviews of maintenance, operations, and integration of civil and structural engineering elements in advance of procurement.

  • Assisting with development, recommendation, and implementation of policies, as applicable, in relation to engineering management, engineering standards and technical requirements, infrastructure development, design, and construction support including change management.

Selected candidate will support technical design, marketing, strategy, sale, and execution of complex water infrastructure projects within the greater Texas region.

  • Serves as Project Manager for medium to large water/wastewater treatment and pump station projects.

AECOM's Water Infrastructure Team is looking for a highly driven Civil Engineer. This is a hybrid position.

The Water Business Line brings together the skills of project managers, civil engineers, H&H engineers, geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and environmental and planning specialists to provide integrated, sustainable and cost-effective solutions. Projects include flood risk reduction systems, dams, levees, floodwalls and floodgates, water supply, tunnels/trenchless technology, roads water/wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipe networks, sewerage, and outfalls.

This position would be responsible for assisting with the preparation of Civil/Site Drawings, supporting Calculations and Specifications. The selected candidate would assist with conceptualizing design and coordinating the flow of technical documents (drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost) between interfacing engineering disciplines.

Our clients include private, local, federal and global organizations, including water utilities and drainage authorities throughout the United States. This position would mostly work on federal projects for clients like, USACE, USIBWC, FEMA, NRCS, etc. Project types include horizontal, heavy earthwork design, like improvements to or new dams, levees, floodwalls, channels, etc. Additional project types include drainage, pipeline and collection stormwater facility design, tunnel design, planning, and construction management.

Job Duties:

  • Work as the project engineer on heavy civil flood control projects and provides technical support for a variety of civil design related projects.

  • Responsible for assisting and/or leading the preparation and successful completion of construction package deliverables (design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, alternatives analysis, technical memoranda, and design documentation reports), depending on project size and complexity.

  • Generate layouts/designs or dams, levees, floodwalls, floodgates, channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, operating ponds, spillways, rock drains, and haulage/access/circulation roads. Designs incorporate erosion control features, geosynthetics, and exposed or sub-surface piping.

  • Complete quantity and cost estimates, as well as alternative assessments.

  • Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.

  • Develop alignments, 3D models (BIMs), cross sections, plan sets, visual aids, etc using Bentley OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Design channels and energy dissipation structures that include concrete, riprap, articulated concrete block, fabric-formed concrete, and baffle blocks for erosion control

  • Coordinate and integrate civil design with results from geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.

  • Develop tangible engineering design skills through periodic field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and geotechnical investigations. Also provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.

  • Produce technical calculations to high standards of quality using current computer software.

  • Assist with the preparation of technical specifications.

  • Utilize standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while gaining understanding of advanced methods

  • Coordinates multi-discipline design efforts; work closely with the project team, including civil, geotechnical, H&H engineers, structural engineers, and surveyors to provide value to each project

  • Assists with the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid Driver's License required

Preferred Qualifications:

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;

  • 8 to 12 years of experience as a Civil Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited institution.

  • Professional Engineer license in state of residence.

  • Strong technical progression within Civil Engineering and Design

  • Mid- to Senior-level proficiency in civil engineering design and analysis, including BIM development for heavy earthwork design projects, site design, grading and drainage design, water line and sewer design, stormwater permitting and design, and erosion and sediment control

  • Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience in other design software (Bentley Design Suites, Water CAD, Sewer CAD, GEOPAK, ARC GIS, etc)

  • An understanding of how plans and specifications should be developed and used during construction.

  • Experience with cost estimating and quantity takeoffs for an engineer's estimate.

  • Ability to work on multiple ongoing projects at the same time

  • Willing to work overtime if needed to complete a task to meet the client's schedule or request

  • Experience with USACE engineering/construction projects

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Manager for the Amtrak ADASP projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale national joint venture program. The role can be worked remotely from the United States (Lower 48 States) with +/- 20% travel to sites.

General Program Description

The Amtrak ADA Stations Program (ADASP) is responsible for bringing Amtrak stations into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADASP implements design and construction of infrastructure improvements to provide accessibly to Amtrak's intercity rail transportation system. This position will be part of a Joint Venture (AECOM & Jacobs) that is providing staff and services to Amtrak.

Responsibilities

The Construction Manager (aka Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR)/Resident Engineer (RE) is responsible for providing technical and construction oversight of several concurrent construction contracts throughout the contracting life cycle from solicitation through final acceptance of contractor's work and contract closeout. The COTR/RE is the appointed technical liaison between the Contracting Official and a contractor. The COTR/RE monitors the contractor's performance and provides technical advice to the Contracting Official and contractor within the scope of work for a contract. The COTR/RE is the primary point of contact regarding a contractor's performance.

Construction projects will be at locations throughout the continental U.S.A. The COTR/RE's work is performed primarily remotely (off-site approximately 80% of working time) with travel required to project locations to review the contractor's work (on-site approximately 20% of working time).

The COTR/RE works directly with the Contracting Official, Design Manager and Designer of Record, and reports directly to the program's National Construction Manager.

The COTR/RE's responsibilities include:

  • Encouraging and supporting a culture of safety on all projects.

  • Assuring work is executed in accordance with the contract as well as good engineering and construction practices.

  • Being thoroughly familiar with all pertinent contract documents.

  • Verifying that the contractor's work is in conformance with applicable contract drawings and specifications.

  • Managing the contractor's work and coordinating with Design Manager, operations department, safety department, and engineering department personnel so that the interests of client are always considered.

  • Managing the contractor's work to allow Amtrak, host railroads, third parties and other project stakeholders to continue their on-site operations throughout the project.

  • Judging the quantity, quality, fitness, and acceptability of all parts of the work.

  • Accepting work based on specified criteria and testing results.

  • Interpreting technical specifications and drawings.

  • Coordinating with the Design Manager and Designer of Record on clarifications to the contract scope of work.

  • Reviewing the contractor's construction submittals on means and methods and delegating the technical reviews to the Design Manager or Designer of Record.

  • Managing field personnel responsible for inspection of the work in progress.

  • Performing site visits to inspect the work in progress.

  • Monitoring the contractor's quality for compliance with the contractor's approved quality control / quality assurance (QA/QC) plan.

  • Monitoring contractor's work for completion within the approved contract time and price.

  • Implementing claim preventive actions by working with the contractor to proactively resolve issues.

  • Managing the contract closeout process, including making recommendations on the substantial completion of work, developing a punch list of minor remaining work, and making a recommendation on the final acceptance and final completion of the contract work.

  • Managing the contractor's performance of warranty work during the contract's warranty period.

  • Keeping thorough records of actions taken that impact the contractor's ability to deliver or perform.

  • Maintaining all communications with the contractor.

  • Retaining all project reports and documentation in the Unifier document control system.

  • Hosting weekly contract progress meetings and preparing meeting minutes to be distributed to all attendees.

  • Attending meetings as required which relate to program management, design, procurement, third party coordination, historic preservation, railroad operations, and public outreach.

  • Maintaining contract logs for non-compliance notices (NCNs), change orders, requests for clarification (RFI's), submittals, and other as needed.

  • Conducting quality assurance audits.

  • Receiving and reviewing progress reports from the contractor.

  • Assisting the Project Scheduler in reviewing the contractor's proposed schedule of values, baseline schedule, schedule updates, and schedule recovery plans.

  • Assisting the Project Scheduler in assessing contractor's requests for changes to the contract time (period of performance).

  • Recommending approval or disapproval of applications for payment (invoices).

  • Providing written weekly reports that document the status of the contract and the contractor's progress.

  • Documenting any schedule delays, including cause and responsibility, to defend against possible delay or acceleration claims.

  • Notifying both the contractor and the Contracting Official of any performance or technical deficiencies by the contractor, or any violations or failure to conform to the terms and conditions of the contract.

  • Assisting with the Contracting Official in preparing contract correspondence.

  • Assisting the Contracting Official in assessing and negotiating contractor's requests for change orders and claims.

  • Assisting the Contracting Official in closing out a contract by confirming the contractor's technical deliverables have been received and accepted.

  • Assisting the Contracting Official in completing contractor performance surveys.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering or closely related field plus eight (8) years of experience in construction management or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this position

  • Valid United States Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices

  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Architect, PE, CCM, or PMP

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Construction oversite and inspection experience with a focus on facility renovation, historic preservation, rail transportation and ADA compliance

  • Communicate fluently in both the spoken and written English language

AECOM is seeking a Traffic and ITS Engineer to be based in either our PA, WV, or DE office.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position includes, but are not limited to:

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.

  • Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.

  • Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.

  • Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.

  • Will be responsible for preparing reports and studies and developing plans for various transportation facilities and traffic engineering projects.

  • Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.

AECOM is seeking a Traffic and ITS Engineer to be based in either our PA, WV, or DE office.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position includes, but are not limited to:

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.

  • Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.

  • Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.

  • Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.

  • Will be responsible for preparing reports and studies and developing plans for various transportation facilities and traffic engineering projects.

  • Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of traffic engineering concepts and a working knowledge of traffic analysis software programs. Advancement opportunities are available to those candidates who show initiative and firm understanding of design concepts and leadership skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Traffic and ITS Engineer to be based in either our PA, WV, or DE office.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position includes, but are not limited to:

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.

  • Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.

  • Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.

  • Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.

  • Will be responsible for preparing reports and studies and developing plans for various transportation facilities and traffic engineering projects.

  • Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of traffic engineering concepts and a working knowledge of traffic analysis software programs. Advancement opportunities are available to those candidates who show initiative and firm understanding of design concepts and leadership skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years' experience in the areas of developing traffic and ITS plans and performing traffic analysis internship or work experience.

  • Engineer-in-Training certification.

  • Experience with Synchro and HCS traffic analysis software, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is desired.

  • Any prior design experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) as it relates to traffic engineering, signal design, ITS design, plan production, project estimates, and specifications is a plus.

  • Applicable course work in Transportation/Traffic Engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

  • Effective oral and written communication skills are a must.

  • Must be self-motivated with a desire to work on a broad range of transportation projects.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $66,000.00 - $78,000.00.
