Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Great Lakes office. Sit in Detroit, Minneapolis or Grand Rapids and be part our international engineering practice. This highly motivated individual will design HVAC and plumbing for all building types including laboratories, clean rooms, healthcare, and high-tech clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing custom solutions for unique projects, , interacting with other AECOM engineers, and developing calculations, construction drawings, and design reports under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Junior Mechanical Engineer should be capable of taking direction from a Senior Engineer to complete both small and large projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients is required.

  • Candidate must be well organized, be able to demonstrate critical thinking to quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution.

  • Have knowledge of the ASHRAE standards and building codes.

  • Have experience with analysis and layout of HVAC systems for buildings. Experience with plumbing systems, hydronic piping, and/or medical gas is a plus.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Performs work to meet deadlines

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • BA/BS + 2 years of HVAC design experience in a consulting environment or related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experince and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering software: REVIT, CAD, load calculation software, Excel

  • Construction phase experience: submittal reviews, on-site inspections, RFIs, change orders, etc.

  • Plumbing and Medical Gas design experience for hospitals and labs

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $110,000.00.

This position is expected to begin in December 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of a experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering + none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to nature of work, US citizenship is required

AECOM is seeking a self-starter and experienced Aviation Program Management Director (Hybrid) to serve Aviation clients across the Western US. This external and internal facing leader will oversee complex program and project delivery to AECOM.   • Performs soil, groundwater, surface water, waste, sediment and air sampling.

  • Performs operation and maintenance (O&M) on treatment systems.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Participate in construction status meetings, covering all health and safety topics, recommendations, and requests

  • Maintain a program-wide safety program that is compliant with CALOSHA/FED OSHA/ and other applicable agencies, including initial and recurrent training materials. This includes field construction activity safety programs as well as managed subcontractor safety programs

  • Experience in the design and deployment of power and construction-centric safety-related procedures.

  • Ability to travel to other facilities to perform inventory duties using a AECOM provided Vehicle.

  • For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM's background check process to ensure compliance with the Company's driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications :

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • +5years of progressive construction project management experience that includes knowledge of MEP systems during all project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist/Engineer for employment within our DCS - Environment Health and Safety Compliance group in the Minneapolis, Minnesota office to support our environmental compliance projects. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual interested in learning new skills through both collaborative team assignments and individual projects with oversight from experienced mentors. Work assignments will include collection and evaluation of client environmental compliance data for preparation of regulatory agency reports and compliance records.   • Develop design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details.

  • Develop rigid and flexible pavement designs.

  • Prepare signing and pavement marking plans and details.

  • Prepare construction phasing plans and develop maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews.

  • Identify utility conflicts based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs.

  • Develop construction quantities and cost estimates.

  • Implement 3D CADD modeling techniques.

  • Develop technical reports, tables, and graphics per client and/or internal AECOM standards.

  • Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures.

  • Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client's scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program.

  • Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software programs.

  • Familiarity with OpenRoads and/or Civil3D software programs.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification registered in any state.

  • Ability and willingness to operate within a hybrid work environment with hybrid teams.

This external facing leader will represent AECOM in the marketplace and oversee business development, sales, strategy development and execution.   • Work with the US West Transportation growth team in developing annual targets and goals for the fiscal year for Aviation, and own the Awards and Bookings KPIs

  • Provide leadership in recruiting and retaining top talent to the Aviation team, aligned with client needs and strategic pursuits

  • In collaboration with senior leadership, develop and own the long-term vision for sustained growth of AECOM's Aviation business in the West

  • Oversee the capture process for key pursuits in Aviation to ensure best practices are being adhered to, and continuously improve capture results

  • Evaluate Aviation opportunities and determine which to pursue based on client understanding, pre-positioning, alignment with overall growth strategy, and AECOM strategic position

  • Oversee the client account management program for key clients in Aviation to ensure active management

  • Entry and tracking program and project pursuits in Salesforce Leading contract proposals for projects across the region

  • Collaborate and coordinate across relevant geographies and teams:

  • Across business lines with Energy, Buildings and Places, Construction Management (AECOM Hunt), Program Management, and Environment

  • With West Region Leaders (key Metro/Cities leads, Regional Business Line Leads, Finance, Operations, and project teams)

  • With the Transportation Global Aviation team, specifically around major Aviation conferences, major trends, critical pursuits, capture management, technical practice networks, and client engagement

  • With other geographic regions around subject matter experts, sharing work, best practices, and internal workshops

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Leader to join our well established and growing Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Practice in a technical leadership role managing projects, providing technical direction to project teams, and serving as a technical subject matter expert. AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to be based in New York, NY. Will Operate as a Construction Manager working directly with the NYC SCA on projects related to schools throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Works with the company financial and cornerstone systems and processes.

  • Applies financial terminology, measures, financial data analysis concepts and principles in assignments.

  • Recognizes processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impact.

  • Develops and maintains WBS for small projects.
