The Aesthetics Scientist conducts research, development and applications in camera software technologies for Apple Camera & Photos. This role has a specific focus on developing software for camera aesthetics - through algorithm design, data collection and preference studies that directly impact new features.

Key Qualifications

  • 9+ years relevant experience required, including 3+ experience in a leadership role for a commercial visual curation company.

  • A subject-matter expert in contemporary photography and photographic aesthetics with a demonstrated portfolio and proven track record to curate imagery for mainstream and large-scale commercial, editorial, and/or technological products.

  • Proven track record in data collection, annotation and content curation for large-scale algorithmic recommendation systems.

  • Proven track record in data analysis and working with statistical tools to follow industry trends.

  • Demonstrated experience with managing software development production processes and collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

  • Flexibility to travel when needed.

Description

Responsibilities - Algorithm Development - Serve as a leader to drive feature development in the preference space when relevant to new camera software products. - Build and maintain infrastructure and tooling requirements for algorithm development across the Camera software team. - Research & Preference Studies - large scale preference studies data collection and analysis program. - Scale long-term research initiatives data collection and analysis - Develop and lead research initiatives that quantify priority aspects of the photographic preference space, and the scale of photography's cultural impact on broad and niche communities around the world. - Manage contingent workers that support data collection initiatives

Key Qualifications

  • Strong logical thought process and analytical skill set. Ability to break-down complex problems fundamental blocks that can be analyzed via understanding of electro-magnetic interactions

  • Hands-on experience in system-level design

As a software engineer on the Training Platform team, you have the following responsibilities: - Contribute to the architecture, design, development, and operations of large-scale systems designed for machine learning. These may include, but not limited to: data management systems, data engineering workflow systems, distributed compute systems, and their web portal & web service components. - Partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers across different Apple organizations to define high impact product features and deliver them with quality. - You will help build the platform upon which other teams will develop data pipelines and machine learning applications. - Collaborate with a group of engineers to deliver high quality products/services. - Be able to learn and stay on top of current technologies and apply them in the job. The AIML Information Intelligence team is creating groundbreaking technology for artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing! The field of ML compression research continues to grow rapidly and new techniques to perform quantization, pruning etc are increasingly available to be ported and adopted by the ML developer community looking to ship more models in a constrained memory budget and make them run faster. We are passionate about productizing and pushing the envelope of the state of the art model optimization algorithms, to further compress and speed up the thousands of deep learning models shipping as part of Apple internal and external apps, running locally on millions of Apple devices. We work on a python library that implements a variety of training time and post training quantization algorithms and provides them to developers as simple to use, turnkey APIs, and ensures that these optimizations work seamlessly with the Core ML inference stack and Apple hardware. We are a small core team that collaborates heavily with researchers at Apple, ML software and hardware architecture teams and external product teams shipping state of the art optimized models on Apple devices. If you are excited about making a big impact and playing a critical role in growing the user base and driving the adoption of a relatively new library, this is a great opportunity for you. We are looking for someone who is highly self motivated and passionate about optimizing models for on device execution. Description

We work on developing, prototyping and productizing state of the art algorithms for neural network model compression. Our algorithms are implemented using PyTorch and optimizations are geared towards efficient deployment via Core ML. We optimize models across domains, including NLP, vision, text and large generative models. Our APIs are available to Core ML users, both internal to Apple and external developers via the Core ML Tools optimization sub module. As a successful engineer in our team, you will: * Implement latest algorithms from research papers for model compression and apply to latest model architectures such as diffusion models, large language models etc * Set up training jobs, datasets, evaluation, performance benchmarking pipelines. Applying training time and post training compression techniques * Understanding HW capabilities and incorporating those in optimization algorithm design / enhancement * Build upon the latest research to create new algorithms and invent new ways of applying compression to deep learning models from different domains * Keep up with the latest AI research and collaborate with diverse teams, both internal and external to Apple, including researchers, hardware architects, and software engineers, to co develop and implement algorithms customized for Apple hardware * Run detailed experiments and ablation studies to profile algorithms on various models, tasks, across different model sizes * Improving model optimization documentation, writing tutorials and guides * Self prioritize and adjust to changing priorities and asks

As a software engineer on the Training Platform team, you have the following responsibilities: - Contribute to the architecture, design, development, and operations of large-scale systems designed for machine learning. These may include, but not limited to: data management systems, data engineering workflow systems, distributed compute systems, and their web portal & web service components. - Partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers across different Apple organizations to define high impact product features and deliver them with quality. - You will help build the platform upon which other teams will develop data pipelines and machine learning applications. - Collaborate with a group of engineers to deliver high quality products/services. - Be able to learn and stay on top of current technologies and apply them in the job. Key Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years experience in performance media sales with at least 2 years experience using a self-serve type platform.

  • Deep understanding of the mobile ecosystem.

  • In depth comprehension of how advertisers go to market and measure success.

  • Strategic selling proficiency working with performance advertisers as well as advertising agencies.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - both in-person, on video conference, and over-the-phone.

  • You possess strong collaboration skills and you are able to work in a dynamic, exciting environment.

  • Very professional and positive demeanor.

  • Track record of overachievement.

  • Manage senior level decision maker relationships in-person with quarterly business reviews and with joint business plans.

  • Handle day-to-day relationships in-person and virtually with clients and agencies in the performance marketing space.

  • Maintain high level of outreach via email, phone and in-person meetings to ensure revenue growth, account activation, and a strong business pipeline.

  • Develop a strategy for long-term success across your portfolio of clients and prospects.

  • Act as a thought-leader with both clients and agencies.

  • Work closely and with a high degree of collaboration with your Manager & Platform Specialist team in-person and virtually to ensure proper execution and alignment with customer business goals and objectives.

  • Use internal and external data sets to understand how to best help grow your customer's business.

Description

You are an experienced Client Partner with a real passion for B2B sales to join our Ad Platforms, Strategic Accounts team to help businesses with promotion and discovery of their app or game in the App Store. You have very strong communication and inter-personal skills. You are highly analytical, resourceful, customer focused, team oriented, and have the ability to work independently to meet revenue and business objectives. You will meet with, travel, and connect with key customers to further senior relationships, in-person and virtually. You have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in the mobile and app developer space with performance type advertisers and agencies.

Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience 5-7+ years experience in performance media sales with at least 2 years experience using a self-serve type platform.

Description

The Platform Specialist team is essential to the business success, combining their abilities of analyzing data, optimizing accounts and articulating this in clear and simple terms with clients directly. With a focus on driving client growth and delivering best-in-class customer service, you'll have a hands-on, client-facing account management role with direct and agency customers in the Gaming vertical. The Platform Specialist is responsible and accountable for owning, growing and developing our key, strategic accounts across the AMR market. You will own and grow a book of business through making recommendations to clients on how to best optimize their campaigns to hit their business goals, while also forging long-term partnerships both in person and virtually. As a part of Apple's Information Systems & Technology organization, the Partner Engagement Manager will lead a highly capable team of system engineers, project managers and desktop support analysts who oversee Apple IT Infrastructure and Partner Systems for AMR Distribution Centers.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in managing projects, people and systems.

  • Knowledge of network and desktop management including Jamf/MDM and experience with macOS/iOS based platforms.

Description

Responsible for establishing team vision, goals and developing strategic and tactical execution plans including set up and support of Apple network and devices. Build capabilities of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication and mentoring. Lead team of resources, managing projects, prioritizing work, and driving multiple projects in parallel. Build and maintain positive relationships with business, BPR and other IS&T managers to help Operations ensure sustainable, secure and scalable network and systems. Strong accountability to business priorities, leading a distributed team of members who deliver on regional and cross-functional initiatives. Support team as the need arises to help them maximize business processes and technology solutions for efficiencies, cost savings, profitability and growth. Dedication to identifying and communicating innovative ideas in a way that gains consensus and builds partnership. Assist team with prioritization and escalation of issues that require investigation and troubleshooting related to software, devices, network access. Drive for continuous improvement within organization including processes and tools. Influence team to look for opportunities to improve and streamline processes focused on system performance, scalability, and reliability for all sites. Ensure team manages and implements system upgrades and apply patches as necessary to keep systems up-to-date and secure.

Education & Experience

Master's degree in relevant field (MBA a plus) or equivalent experience Leadership experience Familiarity with Supply Chain management, network tools, landscapes and operating environments
