This IT Application Analyst position will provide application and technical leadership for Data Integration products within Caterpillar IT. The incumbent will have product ownership of Data Services (DS) Extract-Load-Transform (ETL) tools and responsibilities. They will engage with business partners, developers, and support teams to provide integration services for a wide variety of projects and business needs. The selected candidate will also be a key team member of the DS Data Integration team and ETL, participating in strategic decisions that shape the landscape and services provided to Caterpillar. This role reports to an Information Technology Manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform an active, leading role in shaping and enhancing the overall product(s) architecture.

  • Ensure solution designs adhere to product architectural standards.

  • As a Core team member of Enterprise ETL migration project, work with business partners and vendor teams to successfully deliver the projects within committed timelines.

  • Contribute to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes.

  • Facilitate in application design reviews and walkthroughs.

  • Create and evaluate technical alternatives for complex applications.

  • Interpret application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.

  • Participate in technical design specification activities.

  • Design and develop applications or technology interfaces and bridges.

  • Document existing best practices for system or technology integration processes.

  • Identify and quantifies risk of proposed alternatives to a system or technology integration initiative.

  • Deliver training on major issues, interfaces, considerations and potential pitfalls and risks.

What You Have:

  • Computer science educational background and strong experience in IT-related field

  • Expert skills in DataStage Nice to have: SnapLogic, Snowflake Oracle, SQL, Integration Concepts.

  • Hands on experience in DataStage Development with good debugging skills.

  • Proficient in Expression Language.

  • Experience in JSON, XML manipulation.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Developing interfaces, documentation, troubleshooting and fixing bugs

  • Understanding of systems architecture and security for internal and external communication

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed.

  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.

  • Strong communication and business engagement skills

At Caterpillar's Decatur facility, we manufacture large mining and construction equipment. In this role as a Manufacturing Engineer, provide technical expertise necessary to design all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.

As a Warehouse Associate at Caterpillar Inc., you will work from a variety of source documents to verify part numbers, part locations and quantities. In addition to counting parts and filling orders, you will conduct first line, basic quality assessment of parts for damage and defects.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

-Utilizing and inspecting heavy equipment including sit down fork truck, pallet jack and overhead hoists

-Perform material handling and warehousing functions

-Order filling, processing, storing/ picking of parts, materials, equipment and supplies

Operating automated packaging equipment, shipping and receiving

-Multiple systems interactions

-Interaction with carrier drivers

-Adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous distribution center, warehouse, and/or order filling experience.

  • Previous computerized warehouse management system experience.

  • Experience with operation of material handling equipment.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodations):

  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes.

As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to the Peoria S.O.S Services fluid analysis laboratory team and overseeing daily operations. Role Definition

The US Drivetrain facilities within Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division produce world-class drivetrain components and assemblies for global Caterpillar machine plants, aftermarket parts, and OEMs. The US Drivetrain facility in East Peoria, IL, has an exciting career opportunity as a Sr. Manager of Production (Group Manager) in Assembly Operations. This is a key operations leadership role reporting to the Factory Manager and sets the direction for multiple operations value streams regarding People & Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise operations Section Managers and potentially other Group Managers and support resources and coach/manage performance accordingly. Rollup includes bargained hourly workforce and could include supplemental and contract resources.

  • Instill a zero-injury mindset and execute the Drivetrain safety recipe. Be present on the shop floor and utilize observation with a risk-focus to proactively improve the work environment.

  • Create a culture of continuous improvement utilizing LEAN principles, especially Gemba and Kaizen

  • Be a recognized facility Leader in LEAN, including coaching outside of areas within your direct control as warranted.

  • Assess manpower and resource needs partnering with Supply Chain and the S&OP process.

  • Pursue zero defect processes and culture partnering with multiple functional areas.

  • Develop rock-solid relationships with functional areas such as Quality, Mfg Eng, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, HR, and Accounting to leverage high engagement in the business to drive improvements.

Utilities Repair Technicians needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will be responsible to mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machines and related equipment that perform assembly, torque, and material movement functions in the assembly areas. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair the following types of machines and components: mechanical repairs to utilities, test cells, building and grounds, pump rebuilds, HVAC, boiler operation and assembly maintenance.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Extensive experience in the mechanical and/or electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment is helpful.

  • Must have successfully completed an approved HVAC training program and possess practical experience in the HVAC field.

  • Possess the ability to install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, precision bearings, HVAC, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the assembly areas.

  • Example of related equipment: Boiler operation, pumps, P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, torque tools, washers, ABB robots, paint booth, Test Cells.

Candidates must have a strong machining background with experience in boring milling, drilling and reaming. Must have knowledge of CNC programs and be able to make offset adjustments as required. Candidates will machine engine components using lathes, mills, drills, boring machines, and / or grinders. Must be able to use various gages to verify part quality.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping and other related duties associated with the operations.

  • Set up and operate NC machines, transport material, audit, operate wash tanks and operate some manual operations

  • Interpret Job Instruction Sheet, Standard Work Documents, GageIt (gage tracking), CMM data, and accountable for processes by monitoring Infinity.

  • At times may be required to work overtime to support the manufacturing requirements.

  • Troubleshooting ability to solve everyday problems.

This position description is for Level 4 CNC Machinist within the Large Power Systems Division located in our Lafayette, IN facility.

Candidates must have a strong background with experience in boring milling, drilling and reaming. Must have knowledge of CNC programs and be able to make offset adjustments as required.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping and other related duties associated with the operation and set up of CNC and NC controlled machines, transport material, audit, operate wash tanks and operate some manual operations.

  • Interpret CNC programs Job Instruction Sheet, CMM data, Gageit (gage tracking) and accountable for processes by monitoring Infinity.

  • At times may be required to work overtime to support the manufacturing requirements.

  • Must have the ability to trouble shoot and solve problems dealing with machine, tooling, and program malfunction and solve everyday problems.

  • Must be able to manage time and work well in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment: multi-axis CNC machining experience, ability to program CNC machines with Fanuc, Siemens or other controllers.

  • Strong working knowledge of machining principles; basic SPC, blueprint reading; understanding of geometric tolerances; ability to interpret CMM reports; quality data; and work experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Must pass CNC skills assessment in order to win position

  • Required to stay in section for 12 months except for a promotion or nights to days move

Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.

  • Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.

  • All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.

  • Some positions require the ability to perform tasks on a moving conveyor under time constraints

  • Some positions require the ability to climb ladders, stairs, work on platforms and work at heights

  • Some positions require the ability to work in confined spaces

  • Some positions require the ability to wear a respirator

  • Must be able to lift and manipulate engine components during the assembly process

  • Must be able to use hand and pneumatic tools as well as automatic torque equipment

Tool & Die Technicians needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will perform a variety of functions in the construction, alteration and repair of jigs, fixtures, gauges, metal working dies and machine tool parts. You will be required to trouble shoot and repair jigs, fixtures, dies, etc. on the shop floor.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up, operation, and adjustments on one or more machine tools to perform machining operations for various industrial production & maintenance operations, including dies, jigs, fixtures, repair parts, miscellaneous tooling, experimental parts, etc. to required tolerances

  • Determine methods and procedures applicable to operations to be performed, which include improvising of setups, selection of materials and tooling

  • Use of gauges, performs basic welding and heat treatment

  • General housekeeping and other duties as assigned to maintain a safe and productive department

  • CNC controlled machines are required in this position. Including the ability to read, write, & edit programs

  • Basic computer skills with experience with Office 360

  • Ability to properly communicate verbally & electronically

  • Applicant must be willing to work overtime opportunities to support production demands.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years' Job Shop or Tool Room experience and/or an Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School with four years of experience and/or completion of an accredited four-year Toolmaker Apprenticeship.

  • Successful completion of the Tooling Services Intermediate Math assessment

  • Knowledge and ability to plan & execute complex tooling jobs

  • Ability to hold tight tolerances on grinding, lathe work, and milling/drilling work on both manual & CNC equipment

  • Machinist skills (ALL types: Grinders, Mills, Lathes, Drills, Welding, Heat Treat, Jig/Bore grinding, etc.)

  • Possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair fixtures, tooling, and machines in the shop

  • Ability to gauge tight tolerance parts

  • Ability to determine heat treat required and perform said functions

  • CAD/CAM software

  • Ability to interpret complex machine schematics & blue prints

Utilities Repair Technicians needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will be responsible to mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machines and related equipment that perform assembly, torque, and material movement functions in the assembly areas. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair the following types of machines and components: mechanical repairs to utilities, test cells, building and grounds, pump rebuilds, HVAC, boiler operation and assembly maintenance.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Extensive experience in the mechanical and/or electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment is helpful.

  • Must have successfully completed an approved HVAC training program and possess practical experience in the HVAC field.

  • Possess the ability to install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, precision bearings, HVAC, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the assembly areas.

  • Example of related equipment: Boiler operation, pumps, P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, torque tools, washers, ABB robots, paint booth, Test Cells.

  • Applicant should have a thorough understanding of leveling and alignment of machines, alignment of shafts, gearing, welding, lubrication principles, pipefitting, and tube bending.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Industrial utilities and repair experience.

  • A background with the ability to troubleshoot and repair large scale dynamometers will be helpful.

  • Applicant should have proven boiler operator experience.

  • Applicant must be able to read and understand mechanical prints and possess a basic electrical troubleshooting skill.

  • A background with ABB robots will be helpful.
