What you'll do here:

Reporting to the District Manager, as a Customer Success Manager you will provide pre-sale support for digital product sales, with a central focus on driving large digital adoptions

  • Working with your District Manager you will create district-wide strategies to increase digital sales and usage

  • Develop and maintain relationships with IT decision makers and administrators at key digital accounts in assigned accounts

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all systems, policies and procedures on campuses that can and could affect successful implementation of digital products

  • Partner with District Manager, Account Executives, and Learning Consultants in digital learning solution sales by participating as needed in large adoption sales discussions and demonstrating depth of Cengage digital solutions support

  • Identify potential Digital Power Users and collaborate to involve them in the Cengage Learning Digital Power User Program

  • Coordinate with Engagement Manager to develop digital product account development strategies at large accounts in the assigned district

  • Proactively engage with existing customers to drive retention of large digital adoptions

Provide digital training and product implementation support at large digital adoptions

  • Partner with customers' IT administrators and digital learning specialists to ensure smooth implementation of digital solutions

  • Provide virtual and in-person product training for faculty and other key users (eg TAs) at large adoptions

  • Coordinate and deliver First Class In-Service at start of each term for large digital adoptions

  • Provide weekly post-sale training and implementation updates to appropriate District Manager, Account Executives, Learning Consultants and Digital Solutions Coordinators

  • Collaborate with other CSMs to plan and conduct Digital Implementation workshops to connect successful users of our digital products and build a concrete peer-support network

  • Coordinate with District Manager, Account Executives, Learning Consultants, Digital Solutions Coordinators, and others to ensure complete customer service for large digital adoptions

  • Take intervention action as necessary to improve of customer service experience

Monitor usage of digital products and design & implement usage growth strategies at large digital adoptions

  • Work with data & analytics provided by Sales Operations to monitor digital product usage at large adoptions

  • Proactively identify at-risk adoptions due to digital usage issues

  • Gather feedback from customers, Account Executives, Learning Consultants, Digital Solutions Coordinators, and other internal stakeholders to identify barriers to usage

  • Develop strategies to increase usage and work with internal partners and customers to implement those strategies

Gather customer feedback and market intelligence and share with internal Product and Sales teams to help improve customer experience and outcomes from our digital solutions

  • Provide Editorial, Sales, and Marketing with competitive information and customer feedback regarding our digital solutions to improve customer experience, efficacy, and engagement

  • Ensure the transfer of product knowledge to the Inside sales teams by working with Account Executives and Learning Consultants and conducting selected joint customers calls

  • Identify and report discipline- / school-specific trends affecting future product opportunities to Editorial, Marketing and Product Development

  • Provide product market feedback to in house teams on a bi-weekly basis

  • Work with in-house teams to identify targets for digital pilots

  • Support digital product training for Inside sales team

Skills you will need here:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • Flexibility and adaptability to change

  • 3-5 years of successful direct sales, marketing or editorial experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of and comfort with computer-based technology

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Strong training / presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly in virtual and in-person settings

  • Evidence of strong customer orientation and ability to form and build effective customer relationships

  • Ability to travel overnight as required to close sales and attend internal meetings

Preferred

  • Experience in Higher Education sales

  • Experience in the use and implementation of digital learning products in higher education settings

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other instructional technology highly desired

  • Experience delivering digital product training educational settings; higher education experience highly desired

  • Ability to work effectively in a group and reach decisions by consensus

What you'll do:

Plan for Success

  • Plan, organize, and prioritize sales activities to achieve sales targets.

  • Use database tools to develop and maintain opportunities pipeline for every account in assigned territory.

  • Create and implement strategic plans for opportunities through resource management and internal collaboration.

  • Develop product knowledge and digital skills for sales calls, presentations and delivery of digital courses.

  • Provide support for instructor course set-up and student course access to drive digital activations, and usage.

  • Build itineraries and daily plans that effectively address territory priorities and optimize customer engagement.

Deliver Results

  • Achieve and/or exceed established sales targets by promoting Cengage solutions to all customers.

  • Conduct sales calls with decision makers to identify needs, propose solutions and establish relationships.

  • Represent all product offerings and platforms across disciplines for the territory.

  • Collaborate internally with account partners to implement institutional sales strategies and ensure complete coverage of all Cengage solutions for an account.

  • Use resources and internal sales support for digital customer course builds, training and implementation.

  • Work with data & analytics provided by Sales Operations to monitor digital product usage at large adoptions

  • Proactively identify at-risk adoptions due to digital usage issues

  • Gather feedback from customers, Account Executives, Learning Consultants, Digital Solutions Coordinators, and other internal stakeholders to identify barriers to usage

  • Develop strategies to increase usage and work with internal partners and customers to implement those strategies

Gather customer feedback and market intelligence and share with internal Product and Sales teams to help improve customer experience and outcomes from our digital solutions

  • Provide Editorial, Sales, and Marketing with competitive information and customer feedback regarding our digital solutions to improve customer experience, efficacy, and engagement

  • Ensure the transfer of product knowledge to the Inside sales teams by working with Account Executives and Learning Consultants and conducting selected joint customers calls

  • Identify and report discipline- / school-specific trends affecting future product opportunities to Editorial, Marketing and Product Development

  • Provide product market feedback to in house teams on a bi-weekly basis

  • Work with in-house teams to identify targets for digital pilots

  • Support digital product training for Inside sales team

Skills you will need here:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • Flexibility and adaptability to change

  • 3-5 years of successful direct sales, marketing or editorial experience

What you will do:

This dynamic and high visibility position within our Academic Outreach & Engagement team is vital to driving customer success retention at North American colleges and universities. This position delivers on the promise of ensuring every customer derives maximum value from our digital solutions by actively managing customer relationships. The Customer Success Manager, Academic Outreach & Engagement delivers high levels of account services through building and maintaining consultative relationships with customers as well as internal partners and cross-functional teams. Although separate from the sales department, this role supports sales activities through proactive calls and activities. The team is dedicated to ensuring our academic library partners, their faculty, and their students gain value from their electronic resources through the integration of technology, marketing, training, and support into the relationship.

Proactive customer interactions include but are not limited to:

  • New product on-boarding and implementation ensuring customers are fully engaged and getting the value they expect

  • Maximizing exposure of electronic resources through web site review, marketing, promotion, and training

  • Creating awareness and boosting usage of Gale products

  • Connecting libraries to support resources including digital toolkits, direct access URLs, database icons, promotional materials, training resources, MARC records, and more.

  • Share creative ideas on how customers can use support resources to drive usage across their campus

  • Walk customers through Gale Admin where they can set up preferences, change or update authentication, and generate usage reports.

  • Analysis of customer usage data of online resources

Main Purpose of Job:

  • Ensure customer are gaining value and meeting resource goals across entire Gale product portfolio

  • Develop and maintain excellent collaborative partnerships with internal and external customers in an assigned territory.

  • Gain a comprehensive view of customers in your assigned market

  • Work with customers to help facilitate new product installation in its community or campus (i.e. training, website placement, tools to drive usage, etc.)

What you will do:

This dynamic and high visibility position within our Academic Outreach & Engagement team is vital to driving customer success retention at North American colleges and universities. This position delivers on the promise of ensuring every customer derives maximum value from our digital solutions by actively managing customer relationships. The Customer Success Manager, Academic Outreach & Engagement delivers high levels of account services through building and maintaining consultative relationships with customers as well as internal partners and cross-functional teams. Although separate from the sales department, this role supports sales activities through proactive calls and activities. The team is dedicated to ensuring our academic library partners, their faculty, and their students gain value from their electronic resources through the integration of technology, marketing, training, and support into the relationship.

Proactive customer interactions include but are not limited to:

  • New product on-boarding and implementation ensuring customers are fully engaged and getting the value they expect

  • Maximizing exposure of electronic resources through web site review, marketing, promotion, and training

  • Creating awareness and boosting usage of Gale products

  • Connecting libraries to support resources including digital toolkits, direct access URLs, database icons, promotional materials, training resources, MARC records, and more.

  • Share creative ideas on how customers can use support resources to drive usage across their campus

  • Walk customers through Gale Admin where they can set up preferences, change or update authentication, and generate usage reports.

  • Analysis of customer usage data of online resources

Main Purpose of Job:

  • Ensure customer are gaining value and meeting resource goals across entire Gale product portfolio

  • Develop and maintain excellent collaborative partnerships with internal and external customers in an assigned territory.

  • Gain a comprehensive view of customers in your assigned market

  • Work with customers to help facilitate new product installation in its community or campus (i.e. training, website placement, tools to drive usage, etc.)

  • Communicate with customers post-sale to help facilitate awareness and high use of Gale products

  • Proactively monitor account level usage, making consultative recommendations as appropriate.

  • Verify and work to exceed customer expectations

  • Outside of technical or invoicing issues, serve as the primary support contact for customers: field customer inquiries, help diagnose the root cause of problems, and assist them in navigating the organization as needed to achieve their desired outcome.

  • Advocate customer needs cross-departmentally and prioritize as necessary to meet customer timelines.

  • Work with sales, training, and marketing to develop post-sale, account-level customer success strategies pursuing customer advocacy and the promotion of best practices.

  • Communicate with vested internal partners and support groups where appropriate.

  • Record all customer events and conversations in Strikedeck CRM ensuring effective use of internal tools.

  • Leverage Salesforce CRM for call preparation and to gain general knowledge of account purchases and internal interactions with Gale staff.

  • Partner with management providing updates, status, and support trends.

  • on occasion take place over weekends.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have/be:

The Supervisor, Account Development is part of our Inside Sales team and focuses on moving qualified leads through the sales pipeline while tracking the teams' productivity to ensure the team achieves the sales goals. What You'll Do Here:

As a Senior Network Engineer, help supervise the software-defined performance, security, and availability of our data communications networks. In this role, design, document and build network security solutions for software-defined networks across Cengage's data centers, satellite offices, and public cloud. Serve as a key player in the development and implementation of domestic and international systems with significant exposure to our end-users. Key areas of focus for role include:

  • Collaborate with solution architects to devise infrastructure solutions that meet system and security requirements.

  • Perform project-based engineering, design, installation and troubleshooting of data/security networks.

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of IT and Networking frameworks and standards.

  • Plan and coordinate system utilization; perform growth and capacity analysis.

  • Craft and maintain security monitoring systems for analyzing threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Support mission critical, 24x7 systems.

  • Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of sophisticated network security problems for a variety of end users; recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions.

  • Provide security systems and engineering support for firewalls, routers, switches, IPS, VMware/NSX, and networks.

Solutions Design

  • Improve the company's alignment with corporate security policies, security standards, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements.

  • Balance network architecture with business requirements.

  • Participate ongoing information risk assessments and audits to ensure our information systems and data are adequately protected and meet all regulatory requirements.

  • Provide network assessments; build detailed implementation plans, configurations, and change orders.

  • Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.

What You'll Need:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and integrating an organization's security infrastructure and solutions.

  • Integrity, a solid work ethic and the ability to nurture and lead teamwork across our network and security teams.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent education, with experience deploying secure architectures and solutions such as Cisco Networks

  • 3+ years designing and implementing software defined solutions.

  • Solid documentation experience using Visio, Lucid Chart, Word and Excel.

  • Detailed knowledge and experience with the design, implementation and support of key concepts and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, multicast, VPNs, VRF, VXLAN, EVPN, Cisco IoS & Nexus.

  • Experience with: Security compliance standards, Content Security, Authentication solutions, Network Access Control solutions, Malware Prevention, IDS/IPS solutions, Cisco ISE, Enterprise Wireless Solutions.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Cisco Nexus and Palo Alto firewalls.

  • Cisco Data Center Design and Deployment

  • Experience with Zero Trust, Micro Segmentation, 802.1x, MFA.

  • Experience with SDN such as VMware NSX and ACI.

  • Experience working with IT outsourcing partners.

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco Networks (CCNA / CCNP).

  • Palo Alto Networks (ACE/PCNSE).

  • VMWare Certified Professional - Network Virtualization (VCP-NV).
