What You'll Do Here:
As a Senior Network Engineer, help supervise the software-defined performance, security, and availability of our data communications networks. In this role, design, document and build network security solutions for software-defined networks across Cengage's data centers, satellite offices, and public cloud. Serve as a key player in the development and implementation of domestic and international systems with significant exposure to our end-users. Key areas of focus for role include:
Collaborate with solution architects to devise infrastructure solutions that meet system and security requirements.
Perform project-based engineering, design, installation and troubleshooting of data/security networks.
Maintain up-to-date understanding of IT and Networking frameworks and standards.
Plan and coordinate system utilization; perform growth and capacity analysis.
Craft and maintain security monitoring systems for analyzing threats and vulnerabilities.
Support mission critical, 24x7 systems.
Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of sophisticated network security problems for a variety of end users; recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions.
Provide security systems and engineering support for firewalls, routers, switches, IPS, VMware/NSX, and networks.
Solutions Design
Improve the company's alignment with corporate security policies, security standards, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements.
Balance network architecture with business requirements.
Participate ongoing information risk assessments and audits to ensure our information systems and data are adequately protected and meet all regulatory requirements.
Provide network assessments; build detailed implementation plans, configurations, and change orders.
Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.
What You'll Need:
Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and integrating an organization's security infrastructure and solutions.
Integrity, a solid work ethic and the ability to nurture and lead teamwork across our network and security teams.
A degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent education, with experience deploying secure architectures and solutions such as Cisco Networks
3+ years designing and implementing software defined solutions.
Solid documentation experience using Visio, Lucid Chart, Word and Excel.
Detailed knowledge and experience with the design, implementation and support of key concepts and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, multicast, VPNs, VRF, VXLAN, EVPN, Cisco IoS & Nexus.
Experience with: Security compliance standards, Content Security, Authentication solutions, Network Access Control solutions, Malware Prevention, IDS/IPS solutions, Cisco ISE, Enterprise Wireless Solutions.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Cisco Nexus and Palo Alto firewalls.
Cisco Data Center Design and Deployment
Experience with Zero Trust, Micro Segmentation, 802.1x, MFA.
Experience with SDN such as VMware NSX and ACI.
Experience working with IT outsourcing partners.
Preferred Certifications

What You'll Do Here:
As a Senior Network Engineer, help supervise the software-defined performance, security, and availability of our data communications networks. In this role, design, document and build network security solutions for software-defined networks across Cengage's data centers, satellite offices, and public cloud. Serve as a key player in the development and implementation of domestic and international systems with significant exposure to our end-users. Key areas of focus for role include:
Collaborate with solution architects to devise infrastructure solutions that meet system and security requirements.

Are you energized by the thought of involvement in every functional area of our organization by providing direct, day-to-day support to product teams within your subject area? Administrative Tasks

The Regional Customer Success Manager (RCSM) role is a leadership position in inside sales. The Regional Customer Success Manager will primarily be responsible for servicing, renewing, and growing large adoptions of digital learning products across the Cengage Higher Education portfolio and across a full region and at select key accounts. The Customer Success Manager will focus on driving engagement with and effective usage of digital products by providing post-sales implementation support and training, ensuring consistent and high-quality customer support, monitoring digital product usage, and developing / implementing strategies to increase usage.
What you'll do:
Provide pre sale support for digital product sales, with a central focus on driving large digital adoptions
Develop and maintain relationships with IT decision makers and administrators at key digital accounts in assigned district
Maintain up to date knowledge of all systems, policies and procedures on campuses that can and could affect successful implementation of digital products
Partner with Learning Consultants across a region in digital learning solution sales by participating as needed in large adoption sales discussions and demonstrating depth of Cengage digital solutions support for named key accounts across the region
Identify potential Digital Power Users and collaborate to involve them in the Cengage Learning Digital Power User Program
Coordinate with Key Accounts Managers to develop digital product account development strategies at large accounts in the assigned district
Proactively engage with existing customers to drive retention of large digital adoptions
Provide digital training and product implementation support at large digital adoptions
Partner with customers' IT administrators and digital learning specialists to ensure smooth implementation of digital solutions
Provide virtual and in-person product training for faculty and other key users (eg TAs) at large adoptions
Coordinate and deliver First Class In-Service at start of each term for large digital adoptions across the named accounts
Provide weekly post-sale training and implementation updates to appropriate Learning Consultants and Digital Solutions Coordinators
Collaborate with other divisional and district based CSMs to plan and conduct Digital Implementation workshops to connect successful users of our digital products and build a concrete peer-support network
Coordinate with Learning Consultants, Digital Solutions Coordinators, and others to ensure complete customer service for large digital adoptions
Take intervention action as necessary to improve of customer service experience
Monitor usage of digital products and design & implement usage growth strategies at large digital adoptions within named key accounts across the region
Work with data & analytics provided by Sales Operations to monitor digital product usage at large adoptions
Proactively identify at-risk adoptions due to digital usage issues
Gather feedback from customers, Learning Consultants, Digital Solutions Coordinators, and other internal stakeholders to identify barriers to usage
Develop strategies to increase usage and work with internal stakeholders and customers to implement those strategies
Gather customer feedback and market intelligence and share with internal Product and Sales teams to help improve customer experience and outcomes from our digital solutions
Provide Editorial, Sales, and Marketing with competitive information and customer feedback regarding our digital solutions to improve customer experience, efficacy, and engagement
Ensure the transfer of product knowledge to the Field sales teams by working with Learning Consultants and conducting selected joint customers calls
Identify and report discipline- / school-specific trends affecting future product opportunities to Editorial, Marketing and Product Development
Provide product market feedback to in house teams on a bi-weekly basis
Work with in-house teams to identify targets for digital pilots
Support digital product training for field sales team through virtual and in-person trainings

The State Government Affairs Director will primarily be responsible for promoting, growing, and protecting Cengage business interests across the United States. The Director will be a critical strategic leader and contributor to the government affairs team, helping to define how the company analyzes, understands, navigates, and shapes policy at the state level. You will manage and direct contract-lobbying operational activities and develop a proactive engagement strategy in support of Cengage's policy and procurement objectives. The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. This particular Associate Portfolio PM role will cover our Higher Education World Languages portfolio within the Social Sciences & Humanities team.
Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. Similar to the PM, the APM is responsible for crafting the product strategy, making product decisions, and leading a cross-functional pod. The APM role differs from the PM role in that there is a larger focus on learning and development. The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. This particular Associate Portfolio PM role will cover our Higher Education World Languages portfolio within the Social Sciences & Humanities team.
Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. Similar to the PM, the APM is responsible for crafting the product strategy, making product decisions, and leading a cross-functional pod. The APM role differs from the PM role in that there is a larger focus on learning and development. During one's time in the role, an Associate Portfolio PM hones the skills and proficiencies expected of full Portfolio PMs.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead a profitable product line and develop a strategic business plan in partnership with the Portfolio Product Director. The ideal candidate can be objective and willing to make hard choices regarding investment prioritization for the good of the overall organization. Ability to:
use data to make market-informed business proposals, take mitigated risks and inform strategic decisions, translate strategy into organized end-to-end development plans with budgets, resources, performance goals, and key milestones.
execute plans effectively by hitting deadlines and goals.
demonstrate strong communication skills with keen ability to facilitate team meetings, focus groups, interviews, presentations and trainings.
understand the basic tenants of learning design and theory.
establish yourself as product champion and team leader - taking on accountability and ownership.
Understand, analyze, identify, define, and size market segments associated with the assigned portfolio.
Lead product lifecycle of multiple products simultaneously within scope and budget.
Fully understand and track all product activity that affects assigned portfolio, including any product launches/enhancements and competitor movement. Develop a keen understanding of all competitors; develop an ability to anticipate competitor activity as it pertains to product medium or subject area.
Identify and test product ideas within segments, including the administration of focus groups, advisory boards, reviews, customer meetings and sensing as appropriate.
Regularly analyze product and portfolio plans to align forecasting and measurement of progress towards goals; provide business case for investment decisions. Suggest and monitor production budgets and schedules.
Partner closely with Marketing and Sales teams to seed and secure adoptions and work closely with colleagues in other functional areas (Development, Production, Marketing, Sales, Technology, etc.).
Make presentations at company sales meetings, campus visits, and academic conventions in support of sales efforts and to drive sales.

Passion for improving education
Experience working on teams that built digital solutions and software
Familiarity with agile development process
Background in customer-facing positions
Understanding of how financial calculations and digital metrics are used in product management
Ability to travel during peak selling seasons

Experience leading a team
Experience in writing requirements and crafting user stories
Work experience in education technology, non-traditional players, or software development
