Position Summary: JMT is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join the Hunt Valley Water Resources group. The Project Engineer will perform aspects of water resources engineering analysis and design. U.S. Residency Required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Analyze and design storm drainage systems
Analyze and design stormwater management practices
Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis
Develop Erosion and Sediment Control plans
Perform inspection and assessment of constructed stormwater management practices
Complete permit applications for state and local agencies
Utilize general engineering principles and practices daily
Develop construction cost estimates
Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality

Position summary: Performs as the lead surveyor on a field survey crew and is responsible for the overall completion of the field survey phase of specific projects. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Participates in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, engineers, and contractor representatives
Assigns and monitors work, and provides input for evaluation of members of field survey crew
Instructs and trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures
Completes daily report cards and field note sketches
Provides time estimates for specific tasks
Performs complex surveying calculations using calculator, computer, and or coordinate geometry software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center

High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years' experience in a surveying
Advanced knowledge of coordinate geometry and math functions
Experience with Total Stations and data collectors, preferably Trimble and Trimble Business and GPS receivers

Work is performed in the field 90% of the time. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Work is performed within a general office environment 10% of the time. Office work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
