Position Summary: JMT is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join the Hunt Valley Water Resources group. The Project Engineer will perform aspects of water resources engineering analysis and design. U.S. Residency Required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design storm drainage systems

  • Analyze and design stormwater management practices

  • Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis

  • Develop Erosion and Sediment Control plans

  • Perform inspection and assessment of constructed stormwater management practices

  • Complete permit applications for state and local agencies

  • Utilize general engineering principles and practices daily

  • Develop construction cost estimates

  • Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction

  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality

Working Conditions

This position has excellent potential for career advancement including developing and leading a water/wastewater engineering practice in the region. This candidate will be responsible for delivering all project objectives for assigned projects including; scope, schedule and budget. The candidate will be expected to coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and internal staff.

In addition to the technical and project management skills, the successful candidate will have experience with and the desire to fully understand the business side of the practice including; business development, client management, financial performance, staff development, and overseeing the quality of our products and services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Monitors schedules, budgets, accounts receivable and manpower requirements and prepares invoices.

  • Develop Project Management plans for assigned projects

  • Establish project pricing and budgets

  • Create and maintain project schedules

  • Develop and maintain project specific quality plans

  • Develop and coordinate project scope

  • Manage sub-consultants

  • Participate in client presentation

  • Oversee and manage assigned staff working on project

  • Manage all technical resources on the project team

  • Development of extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals

  • Coordinate and assist Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders with marketing proposals

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program

  • Professional Engineer License (Florida or ability to obtain through reciprocity preferred)
