JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking an experienced Senior Level - Lead Inspector for a large Pennsylvania Turnpike Project located at the I-95 / SR 276 Interchange. The successful candidate will work with the construction management and construction inspection teams to supervise standard inspection procedures of construction activities on behalf of our client the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance of contract documents.

  • Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards.

  • Monitor schedules and maintain appropriate schedule related documentation.

  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes

  • Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues

  • Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials.

  • Gathers and maintains project records (using standard PTC systems).

  • Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.

Required Skills

  • NICET Level III or Level IV in Transportation Highway Construction or a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management along with relevant experience may be acceptable.

Preferred Skills

  • Current Client Requested Certifications, including:

  • NECEPT- Bituminous Field Technician

  • PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite)

  • Current valid driver's license and a reliable motor vehicle
