Overview

To provide members and prospective members the full range of products and services offered by Navy Federal Credit Union including depository accounts such as checking, savings, certificate IRA, revocable trust and estate accounts; Lending products; and credit/debit cards. To perform moderately complex platform banking functions under supervision. Provide assistance/training to lower level team members.

  • Analyze, research and resolve problems and discrepancies related to member accounts/loans

  • Assist members with submitting consumer/mortgage/equity loan, overdraft protection and credit card applications

  • Counsel current and prospective members about Navy Federal's products and services

Overview

AVP of Cognitive Engineering Services serves as a key member of the Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM) leadership team, providing strategic vision and leadership for NFCUs data science, advanced analytics and applied artificial intelligence technologies. Oversee and direct a team of Cognitive Services engineers to develop and deliver generative and adaptive data science technologies. Provide forward-looking, industry perspective and research emerging technologies in the Cognitive Sciences domain and implementing full lifecycle processes for technology roadmap development, architecture fit, technology infusion, adoption, and operational governance. The incumbent will partner with cross functional teams to define appropriate business use cases for Cognitive AI/ML/NLP capabilities and transition them from incubation into mainstream production deployment and adoption across NFCU.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior business, technology product, and engineering leaders to develop strategic direction and goals to continuously evolve NFCUs Cognitive AI and Machine Learning platforms and capabilities.

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with technology vendors and professional services firms specializing in advanced analytics, generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), machine learning and advanced data management technologies.

  • Serve as technical leader for the Cognitive Engineering Services division, implementing best engineering practices (coding standards, automated testing, scalability) and growing the technical capabilities of the team.

  • Build core engineering competencies in GPT algorithms, data ingestion for Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering and NLP/Chatbot interface construction.

  • Partner with the technology and business leadership teams to identify, incubate and productionize a roadmap of generative, predictive, and adaptive data science capabilities.

  • Work with cross-functional partners and executives in Information Services (ISD), Product Engineering & Delivery Services (PEDS), Enterprise Architecture, Member Strategy Office (MSO), and Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) teams to build Cognitive and Open AI technology strategy and roadmaps.

  • Determine approaches and methods to leverage data science, machine learning, and other analytical techniques to improve productivity and technology product features and capabilities.

  • Serve as a champion for establishing governance frameworks for the ethical use of Cognitive and Generative AI capabilities.

  • Lead the end-to-end collaboration, planning and execution of data analytics and Cognitive Services proof of concept initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in advanced Data Science domains such as predictive modeling, Large Language Models, machine learning, text mining, geo-spatial modeling, time series forecasting, optimization.

  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience collaborating with and leading, mentoring, and engaging teams.

  • Extensive experience applying supervised/unsupervised modeling techniques to turn big data into actionable insights.

- Partner with Enterprise Architecture as an advisor to define, design, and deliver the blueprint for a Zero Trust platform that encompasses NFCU's assets, applications, network, data, and identities

To lead, develop and supervise the performance of team members within Mortgage Records. To plan, control and monitor daily operations of section. To support Mortgage and Equity Servicing management to ensure processes and procedures are consistent and in alignment with department/organizational objectives. Ensure regulatory deadlines are met to avoid incurring heavy fines/penalties. Establishing and monitoring vendor's performance. Oversee third party vendors for accuracy and timely, accurate processing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Mortgage Records output and trends to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with applicable rules and regulations (FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, federal, state, Investor and Navy Federal Credit Union regulations and guidelines)

  • Supervise and ensure, National Credit Union Association (NCUA) Consumer Financial Bureau (CFPB),FNMA, GNMA, FHLMC and MERS regulations are followed for the maintenance, recording and retention of mortgage/equity documents
