Duties and Responsibilities: Receives from sales clerk in Exchange locations store over shipped and/or damaged merchandise with customer receipts. Moves items by handcart or similar conveyance, unpacks, checks, and verifies items against merchandise, transfer for accuracy of identification number of items, model numbers, prices, and etc. Where discrepancies are found notifies appropriate department. As necessary makes spot markdowns on defective merchandise returned by customers. Prepares appropriate documents indicating description, quantity, unit, unit control reason for return etc. Upon receipt of authorization removes price tags, place identified stock items in temporary storage location, determines action to be taken on returned merchandise, prepares merchandise for shipment to distribution center and/or manufacturer. Seals, weighs, and labels merchandise. Attaches documents and forwards to appropriate office and/or shipping to vendor manufacturer. As required maintains record of shipping charges incurred in returning merchandise. Logs in and out all merchandise. Obtains signature for merchandise delivered. Contacts vendor to obtain return authorization (RA) number where applicable and required. Prepares appropriate documents for merchandise to be shipped to vendor, manufacturer, damaged return for credit, misdirected and defective merchandise following existing rules and regulations. Ensures merchandise to be shipped is properly packed and weighed, checks address labels against merchandise for accuracy of destination and return authorization (RA) number. Determines weight and cube of merchandise to be shipped. Prepares bill of lading determining the proper classification of merchandise. Contacts carrier and schedules pickup of merchandise giving pertinent information such as type of merchandise, weight and description of packing etc. Stages merchandise with carrier and verifies same against appropriate documents obtaining signatures. Signs for all merchandise shipped. Receives merchandise with accompanying documents from vendor. Completes appropriate forms verifying merchandise and price. Stamps and returns to location, stores for resale and or pickup by patron etc. Maintains files, records, and logs on all transactions processed. Files in numerical order, department, and/or date, maintains accurate address files of vendors/manufacturers. As required periodically compiles and prepares report of dollar value of chargebacks processed, merchandise shipped to vendors, documents handled and total cost of merchandise on hand for supervisor. Assists with inventory control. Performs other related duties as assigned. Title: QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR (SECURITY GUARD), Full-Time, NEDC, Suffolk Location: United States-Virginia-Suffolk Job Number: 230003KH Job Summary: Performs duties in connection with the physical security and quality assurance functions of Distribution Center. Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Functions Reviews receiving documents and pick tickets to verify all merchandise and quantities are correct. Reconciles discrepancies with appropriate personnel. Follows up to ensure corrective action has been taken. Completes forms documenting quality assurance checks completed. Assists in researching reconciling and correcting QA errors reported by stores. Coordinates with appropriate personnel and initiates corrective action as required. Prepares reports on all discrepancies found and makes recommendations to prevent future occurrences. Meets or exceeds established productivity standards. Physical Security Functions Maintains surveillance throughout the warehouse areas to prevent and detect illegal and dishonest acts such as the removal of government property. Ensures only authorized personnel vehicles etc. are allowed to enter the warehouses and or distribution center compound. Follows suspects and in accordance with established policies and procedures detains individuals suspected of committing illegal acts after receiving authorization from supervisor. Protects the integrity of the evidence until the proper authorities arrive. Maintains control of all seals at all times. Ensures all trailers in the compound with freight are locked and sealed. Ensures all vehicles are logged in and out the compounds. - Monitors warehouse internal and external security systems. Makes recommendations for revisions improvement where deficiencies and or weaknesses have been identified. Assists the supervisor in studying inventory shrink and conducting inquiries as assigned in high shortage areas. Reviews merchandise periodically to ensure that unauthorized changes in pricing or location have not been made. Witnesses as required the destruction of merchandise that has been marked down to zero . Conducts administrative inspections as directed by supervisor management. Assists base police and or Military Working Dog Teams as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Assists in all aspects of ensuring full operation of the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar to include but not limited to opening and closing the Convenience Bar preparing displaying replenishing goods and cleaning stations and equipment as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Applicable to Minimarts operating a Food and Beverage Convenience Bar Greets and engages customers in conversation for purposes of providing sales related assistance. Assists in the selection of merchandise and suggests additional items to complement the customer s selections. Where applicable offers customers the opportunity to purchase extended product warrantees. Explains coverage benefits and price. Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner which includes adhering to NEX dress code uniform standards and assisting supporting sales team members to the maximum extent possible. Is required to lift up to 25 lbs. as it relates to job duties including but not limited to assisting customers lifting merchandise assisting with stocking sales area as necessary etc. Applicable to Minimarts operating a Food and Beverage Convenience Bar Incumbents may be required to perform all or any combination of the following: Open and close the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar. Ensure all equipment is turned on during opening of the Minimart and turned off during closing i.e. display merchandiser signs etc. Preheats and display products in heated display merchandiser. Ensure sufficient goods and products are readily available for customers by replenishing products and condiments i.e. napkins straws cups lids creamer sugar etc required in the holding bins on the beverage bar. Ensure all products remaining at the close of business are time dated when placed in the refrigerator. Ensure cleaning of small wares equipment throughout the day and at closing effective time dating of food and beverage products to ensure quality and food integrity. Monitors the temperature on refrigerators and freezers a minimum of 3 times daily i.e. early morning mid-day and late afternoon to ensure equipment is maintaining required temperature. May be required to attend a 4-hour food safety training session initially and required an annual refresher thereafter. Performs other related duties as assigned.
