Advises customers with automotive service needs determines work repairs to be accomplished and makes additional maintenance recommendations. Duties and Responsibilities: Greets all customers and assists them with their automotive service needs. Based on a sound and visual inspection of customers vehicle determines the type and fitness of work parts and repairs required to perform a repair or service. Schedules repairs or services on customer automobiles and assigns work to technicians. Prepares electronic Repair Estimates and Repair Orders from Mitchell1 Teamworks for all work showing customer details vehicle details parts supplies labor work description and price and receives customer approval. Issues orders parts and supplies to technicians. Processes special orders for automotive replacement parts to complete a specific job or for Do it yourself customers. Notifies such customers when order is received and maintains receiving log. Ensures that safety inspection maintenance schedules are conducted completed as applicable. Prepares a repair tag SS324 to identify partons merchandise left for repair such as tires batteries etc. Ensures that posted price lists are current. Ensures that pick tickets and chargebacks are prepared for returned parts and part cores. Is responsible for the security and tagging of this merchandise. Ensures completed repair work is performed on customers vehicles to validate that work is accomplished properly and charges are accurate. Ensures that authorized service is completed by having vehicle road tested by qualified individual. Resolves questions and complaints. As required may assist technicians in repair services e.g. assist in the bleeding of brake hydraulic systems tire air inflation battery boost vehicle test driving and other minor services where a technician requires the added assistance. Performs andor participates in required inventories. Observes all safety fire and sanitation regulations and maintains a neat and clean work area. Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers. Tactfully responds to patron inquiries and assists patrons in a prompt and friendly manner. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who issues broad guidelines and instructions. Performs assignments independently and within the framework of established policies and procedures. Completed work is reviewed in terms of efficiency of operation and customer satisfaction. Performs other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL EFFORT Is required to stand stoop bend and stretch. May lift parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally may lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS Normally works inside behind a service counter desk in a retail environment to greet customers but often accompanies customers outside to examine customers vehicle for required service repair work. Frequently enters the repair bays to issue repair work and parts to technicians and may be exposed to draft noise fumes dirt dust and oils. Is subject to cuts bruises burns shocks and strains. TRAINING REQUIREMENT Associate must receive hazardous material HazMat training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations Qualifications: A total of 4 years consisting of the following: GENERAL EXPERIENCE Three years of experience in retail or retail automotive or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge of retail or automotive service operational procedures and practices skill in dealing with others in persontoperson work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelors degree for 3 years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year of experience which provided a background in automotive customer service that allowed the applicant to gain knowledge of automotive parts and repair and the ability to advise customers of type of workrepairs required to restore vehicles to proper and safe working order.

Experience interfacing with subject matter experts SME OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE 1 year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelors degree in Management Human Resources Education IO Psychology Communication or other fields related to the position for 3 years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience analyzing data managing shortterm projects writing training plans presenting formal training to an audience or supporting HR systems such as an LMS payroll or talent management system.
