Job Description

Title: (NEX OCEANA CAR CARE CENTER) AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 220001QA Job Summary: Serves as the primary customer service contact in the Automotive Service Center. Advises customers with automotive service needs determines work repairs to be accomplished and makes additional maintenance recommendations. Duties and Responsibilities: Greets all customers and assists them with their automotive service needs. Based on a sound and visual inspection of customers vehicle determines the type and fitness of work parts and repairs required to perform a repair or service. Schedules repairs or services on customer automobiles and assigns work to technicians. Prepares electronic Repair Estimates and Repair Orders from Mitchell1 Teamworks for all work showing customer details vehicle details parts supplies labor work description and price and receives customer approval. Issues orders parts and supplies to technicians. Processes special orders for automotive replacement parts to complete a specific job or for Do it yourself customers. Notifies such customers when order is received and maintains receiving log. Ensures that safety inspection maintenance schedules are conducted completed as applicable. Prepares a repair tag SS324 to identify partons merchandise left for repair such as tires batteries etc. Ensures that posted price lists are current. Ensures that pick tickets and chargebacks are prepared for returned parts and part cores. Is responsible for the security and tagging of this merchandise. Ensures completed repair work is performed on customers vehicles to validate that work is accomplished properly and charges are accurate. Ensures that authorized service is completed by having vehicle road tested by qualified individual. Resolves questions and complaints. As required may assist technicians in repair services e.g. assist in the bleeding of brake hydraulic systems tire air inflation battery boost vehicle test driving and other minor services where a technician requires the added assistance. Performs andor participates in required inventories. Observes all safety fire and sanitation regulations and maintains a neat and clean work area. Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers. Tactfully responds to patron inquiries and assists patrons in a prompt and friendly manner. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who issues broad guidelines and instructions. Performs assignments independently and within the framework of established policies and procedures. Completed work is reviewed in terms of efficiency of operation and customer satisfaction. Performs other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL EFFORT Is required to stand stoop bend and stretch. May lift parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally may lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS Normally works inside behind a service counter desk in a retail environment to greet customers but often accompanies customers outside to examine customers vehicle for required service repair work. Frequently enters the repair bays to issue repair work and parts to technicians and may be exposed to draft noise fumes dirt dust and oils. Is subject to cuts bruises burns shocks and strains. Duties and Responsibilities: Examine vehicles to determine extent of maintenance and repairs required. Make repairs that can be accomplished by cleaning reinstalling or replacing defective parts or components of vehicle systems. Determine if parts should be cleaned and reinstalled or replaced. As necessary remove and replace parts with parts of the same fit and fitness of original equipment whether aftermarket or original equipment manufacturer OEM. Make settings and adjustments of components to OEM specification. Use a variety of common hand tools such as wrenches pliers screw drivers sockets and ratchets impact tools ignition tools and others. Perform prescribed testsinspections including test driving using such specialized equipment as infrared engine analyzer compression gauge and computerized diagnostics to insure vehicles meet manufacturers recommended specifications. Using state prescribed special testing and inspection equipment performs required state inspections and tests. Where deficiencies are noted withholds sticker and informs vehicle owner of the need for deficiency corrections quoting from the state manual as necessary. Perform checklists as prescribed to ensure all components are examined including belts hoses steering linkage tires brakes fuel system lights wipers glass etc. Study and plan maintenance and repairs to OEM specification using professional management information systems MIS technical manuals diagrams and experience. Test and adjust vehicle systems to meet OEM performance specifications. Maintain automotive equipment in good serviceable condition. Consult with Service Advisors recommending comprehensive repairs and maintenance of customer vehicles. Exercise tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers. This is expressed by tactfully responding to patron inquiries and assisting patrons in a prompt and friendly manner. Receive assignments from a supervisor orally or in the form of repair orders. Select tools and determine methods of use receiving advice and guidance on connection with unusual problems which may arise. Completed work is reviewed for acceptability and conformance with requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned. ASE Certifications for assigned work responsibilities are required. Ensures availability of shopping carts to patrons by ensuring only properly functioning shopping carts are in circulation, clear of debris and stored in shopping cart corral for customers to access. Duties and Responsibilities : Uses caution and is attentive to surroundings to prevent accidents or mishaps while gathering abandoned shopping carts located within the NEX facility(ies) and nearby vicinities outside. Removes abandoned shopping carts in NEX vestibules and other areas within the NEX store as needed and required. Gathers shopping carts to arrange in joined-interlocked formation required to maneuver multiple carts simultaneously to designated areas for customers to easily access. Gathers and arranges shopping carts in an orderly assembly in designated shopping cart corrals. Provide assistance in handling customer complaints involving management as necessary. Utilizes the Property Management System PMS to access the guest information retrieve reservation information change or cancel reservations as requested by the guest or register guests. Verifies registration information secures a credit card for incidental expenses and authorizes credit card for room charges. Provides guests with their room key or card. Receives requests and processes reservations within established guidelines. When rooms are not available provides a certificate of nonavailability CNA andor alternative lodging in the area. Registers and assigns rooms to guests issuing room keys or cards transmitting and receiving messages keeping records of occupied rooms and guest accounts making and confirming reservations and presenting statements to and collecting payments as necessary. Receives and is accountable for a change fund. Prepares Close Bank Report and deposits cash receipts at the end of each shift in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for inventorying all keys and any other supplies or amenities maintained at the front desk. Keeps the front desk and lobby area clean and neat. May be required to run and print various reports from the PMS such as Expected Arrivals Departure List InHouse Guest List and Night Audit reports to include Daily Monthly and Annual occupancy reports.
