A Day in the Life

The Cardiac Ablation Solutions(CAS) division is focused on disrupting the Electrophysiology (EP) market to be the number one arrhythmia care pathway, cardiac mapping, and ablation solutions provider for our customers and patients. Inspired by the Medtronic mission and dedicated to transforming the lives of people with cardiac arrhythmias, to date CAS has transformed the lives of over 1 million patients.

Preference is for this position to be based in Mounds View, MN but a remote worksite may be considered.

The Senior Principal Regulatory Affairs will play a key role in providing regulatory affairs support for Class I, II and Class III medical devices.The Sr Principal Regulatory Affairs Specialist is responsible for activities to launching new products and sustain the current regulatory activities that lead to and maintain regulatory approval for medical devices primarily associated with ablation therapy that supports the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation. The Sr Principal Regulatory Affairs Specialist will work directly with development and sustaining teams to support regulatory activities throughout the product lifecycle. The Sr Principal Specialist has primary responsibility for compliance with US and EU regulatory requirements and partners with the international regulatory affairs specialist and in country specialists as needed, to support regulatory submissions worldwide for Class I, II, and Class III medical devices. Activities will include careful and clear documentation of regulatory decisions, authoring well written submissions to agencies, reviewing promotional materials, and ensuring that product technical documentation is current and accurate. Responsibilities are performed through the collaboration with various functions across the Operating Unit, including but not limited to Regulatory Affairs, Research and Development, Clinical, Quality, Operations, Global Supply Chain and Marketing and externally with regulatory bodies in the US, EU and other agencies as needed.

Responsibilities also include keeping senior management informed of the regulatory status of products and significant regulatory issues while continuously maintaining proficiency in global regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be able to deal with advanced concepts and undefined paths, work independently, develop new regulatory strategies and solutions based on experience and work collaboratively within the Regulatory department and other business functions. This position reports to the Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager.

Role And Responsibilities:

• Develop and support global regulatory strategies for Class I, II, and Class III ablation therapy and diagnostic devices and the relevant accessories.

• Responsible for identifying submission deliverables, timelines, and strategic direction. Reviews and approves technical documentation.

• Provide feedback and work with engineers and technical experts to resolve potential regulatory issues and questions from regulatory agencies and provide ongoing support to product development teams to assure timely resolution to regulatory issues and questions.

• Prepare FDA, IDE and PMA and PMA supplements or 510(k) submissions for new products and product changes as required to ensure timely approvals to support clinical studies and market releases.

• Negotiate with regulatory authorities to resolve questions/issues that arise prior to and during product submissions.

• Interact directly with major market regulatory agencies in support of product registration, approval, and commercialization.

• Participate in product change assessments and define the regulatory impact of product changes in global markets.

• Provide support to market-released products. This includes reviewing labeling, product changes, manufacturing site transfer activities and documentation for changes requiring government approval.

• Establish and maintain good relationships with agency personnel.

• Collaborate with International RAS to understand worldwide regulatory requirements to enable the development of strategies and requirements for global commercialization.

• Develop options of regulatory strategies, risks mitigation, issues and submission decisions/content and provide recommendations to the manager for decisions based on business impact.

• Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

• Or minimum 5 years of medical device regulatory affairs experience with Master's degree

Preferred experience:

• 4+ years of medical device industry experience with US FDA 510(k) and EU MDR submission experience.

• Proven expertise in all aspects of Regulatory Affairs; Strategy Planning, US and major market regulatory requirements, project management, and negotiations

• Demonstrated ability to work well in dynamic and cross-functional team environments

• Demonstrated collaboration and leadership skills in team setting

• Solid understanding of manufacturing and change control, and an awareness of regulatory trends

• Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (engineering, physical/biological or health sciences).

• Effective interpersonal skills

• Ability to comprehend principles of engineering, physiology and medical device use.

• Good analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$152,000.00 - $228,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

• Works with regional SMEs to develop and execute U.S. regulatory advocacy strategies and action plans, including identifying opportunities for advocacy/educational opportunities with regulators.

• May direct interaction with regulatory agencies on defined matters and engage with industry associations, including AdvaMed, and other stakeholders to influence U.S. regulatory policy development.

• Keeps abreast of developingU.S. regulatory guidelines, regulations, and policies related to medical devices, provides analysis of impact to Medtronic, and communicates relevant updates to internal stakeholders.

• Monitors industry trends and emerging U.S. regulatory issues impacting Medtronic's business and regulatory environment.

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identifyU.S. regulatory challenges and develop and implement advocacy strategies for addressing them.

• Leads on commenting for external documents and participateon external working groups, as needed.

• . Works with project manager to maintain and update the Global Regulatory Policy SharePoint, including providing summaries of key policy updates, identifying commenting opportunities, and maintaining advocacy trackers to support U.S. regulatory advocacy efforts.

• Directs or performs coordination and preparation of document packages for regulatory submissions from all areas of company, internal audits, and inspections.

• Leads or compiles all materials required in submissions, license renewal and annual registrations.

• Recommends changes for labeling, manufacturing, marketing, and clinical protocol for regulatory compliance.

• Monitors and improves tracking / control systems.

• Recommends strategies for earliest possible approvals of clinical trials applications.

MUST HAVE

CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES - POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Aortic Clinical Specialist provides technical, clinical, educational and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of the Medtronic Aortic technology. The Aortic Clinical Specialist works closely with physician implanting teams, the Medtronic Aortic Field Sales and Cardiovascular field organizations to drive procedural and practice success.

• Technical and Clinical Support (50%)

• Provide clinical expertise for Aortic implanting centers, including case sizing and planning, and providing technical support in accordance with the instructions for use, and best-practices to facilitate procedural consistency and best clinical outcomes.

• Educational Support (35%)

• Provide support for site performance and to facilitateprocedural growth. Assist in education and training activities with physicians, hospital support staff and Medtronic personnel. Stay abreast of, and communicate, clinical data regarding Medtronic products and Aortic therapies.

• Sales Support (15%)

• Collaborate and strategize with territory sales representative and Aortic field organization in achieving sales targets and executing business plans.

A DAY IN THE LIFE: POSITION RESPO NSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are to be performed as appropriate in case support.

• Technical and Clinical Support

• Provide quality technical support to help sites achieve procedural success.

• Provide technical support to Medtronic employees and implanting teams for Aortic implant procedures in accordance with Medtronic guidance.

• Provide technical leadership for Aortic device procedures. Educate implanting teams on proper indications for Aortic procedures. Provide support on questions regarding device suitability with measuring ability and CT reconstruction expertise.

• Provide comprehensive technical support including knowledge of imaging modalities (angiography/CT), wires and catheters, and ancillary procedural solutions.

• Knowledge of Medtronic Aortic product IFUs for safe and effective use of devices.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive clinical and technical product knowledge.

• Understand current published Aortic and relevant literature.

• Recognize and understand competitive products, industry trends, and Aortic/Peripheral portfolio. Liaison with Upstream Marketing for technology improvements and next generation needs.

• Educational Support

• Oversee local education and training activities including coordination and set up of procedure simulators, facilitation of simulated Aortic procedures and procedural troubleshooting, and coordination and facilitation of staff in-services to include pre/peri/post Aortic procedures.

• Provide education on safe and effective use of Medtronic products.

• Educate/train/In-service general surgery, vascular and cardio-thoracic fellows, and residents.

• Ensure all vascular and cardio-thoracic fellows and residents are entered into the Aortic National Database.

• Graduate all residents and fellows in SalesForce to ensure an appropriate handoff to the receiving territory.

• Customer Service and Sales Support

• Support district sales strategy working with sales representatives and managers to achieve business plans within the Aortic business. Contribute to the development of a strong team effort.

• Ensure comprehensive technical and customer support within territory to maintain superior customer service levels and effective time management.

• Shared responsibility of inventory management. To include customer management of inventory ordering, shelf stock, stagnant and returns. Ensuring there is no expired inventory in the field or implanted in a patient.

• Identify, establish, and maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.

• Participate in customer/society education meetings and conventions where appropriate.

• Respond to customer requests and resolve complaints in a prompt and effective manner.

• Report device complaints within 48 hours through Medtronic mPXRin order to ensure proper reporting and compliance of device and procedural issues.

• Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

• Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.

• Professional Development

• Assist in training new hires to Medtronic Aortic team.

• Administrative Responsibilities

• Submit accurate and timely expense reports. All reports should be submitted every two weeks.

• Maintain completion of all assigned Cornerstone trainings and assigned Allego trainings.

• Schedule travel arrangements through Concur to ensure multiple objectives are accomplished.

• Maintain hospital eligibility/access with various vendor credentialing services.

• Communication

• Maintain a high level of communication with appropriate Aortic sales and leadership within assigned geography.

• Communicate market intelligence/competitor activity promptly, including potential sales leads, and information regarding product price or account activity to District Manager and other appropriate company personnel.

• Always ensure a professional standard of written and verbal communication.

• On-Call

• Provide on-call case support for territories where needed. This includes week nights and weekends.

• Travel

• Travel within the region, area and nation may be required up to 50% of time.

• Travel may require overnight stays.

A Day in the Life

The Regional Manager supports the Therapy Development team of TDMs and FCEs in driving procedural success in TMVR and TTVR cases. The Manager directs the daily operations of the team and coordinates with a cross functional team including Research and Development, Clinical, Quality, and others to ensure therapy adoption by customers, safe patient outcomes, meaningful device iteration feedback, best in class customer education, and, ultimately, successful commercialization of the TMVR and TTVR devices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities are to be performed as appropriate to ensure safe adoption and optimal patient outcomes.

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the Therapy Development team for clinical trial case support, executing on the strategies outlined by the Director, Therapy Development TMVR/TTVR.

• Recruit, develop, retain and manage staff of Field Clinical Specialists accountable for delivering technical support to ensure safe adoption and procedural outcomes.

• Monitor, guide, and coach remote direct reports to achieve enrollment targets, improve skills and productivity, and build sustainable customer relationships.

• Develop, implement, and manage business strategies to meet and exceed financial objectives.

• Develop global staffing matrix to ensure adequate case support needs are met.

• Partner with global cross-functional leaders to ensure adequate ancillary case support availability, delivery of industry leading physician training in accordance with local regulations and CIP, support of on-site training/in-servicing for local hospital physicians, nurses, techs and staff.

• Assist in AOP management, forecast creation, achieve revenue and expense goals.

• Support Therapy Development team in coordination and delivery of local training programs.

• Partner with Clinical, Quality, and the field team to ensure customer and device complaints are reported and resolved in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with the Sr Global Training Program Managers to ensure FCS' follow procedural best practices, are current on all imaging modalities (echo, CT, angiography), receive training on current and future device iterations, and stay up to date on relevant published data for both Medtronic and its competitors.

• Perform annual field evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve individual performance.

• Manage corporate resources, including demo product, simulators, and imaging equipment, direct allocation of resources and team members globally.

• Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.

• Participate in customer/society education meetings and conventions.

• Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.

• Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

A Day in the Life

The Regional Manager supports the Therapy Development team of TDMs and FCEs in driving procedural success in TMVR and TTVR cases. The Manager directs the daily operations of the team and coordinates with a cross functional team including Research and Development, Clinical, Quality, and others to ensure therapy adoption by customers, safe patient outcomes, meaningful device iteration feedback, best in class customer education, and, ultimately, successful commercialization of the TMVR and TTVR devices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities are to be performed as appropriate to ensure safe adoption and optimal patient outcomes.

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the Therapy Development team for clinical trial case support, executing on the strategies outlined by the Director, Therapy Development TMVR/TTVR.

• Recruit, develop, retain and manage staff of Field Clinical Specialists accountable for delivering technical support to ensure safe adoption and procedural outcomes.

• Monitor, guide, and coach remote direct reports to achieve enrollment targets, improve skills and productivity, and build sustainable customer relationships.

• Develop, implement, and manage business strategies to meet and exceed financial objectives.

• Develop global staffing matrix to ensure adequate case support needs are met.

• Partner with global cross-functional leaders to ensure adequate ancillary case support availability, delivery of industry leading physician training in accordance with local regulations and CIP, support of on-site training/in-servicing for local hospital physicians, nurses, techs and staff.

• Assist in AOP management, forecast creation, achieve revenue and expense goals.

• Support Therapy Development team in coordination and delivery of local training programs.

• Partner with Clinical, Quality, and the field team to ensure customer and device complaints are reported and resolved in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with the Sr Global Training Program Managers to ensure FCS' follow procedural best practices, are current on all imaging modalities (echo, CT, angiography), receive training on current and future device iterations, and stay up to date on relevant published data for both Medtronic and its competitors.

• Perform annual field evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve individual performance.

• Manage corporate resources, including demo product, simulators, and imaging equipment, direct allocation of resources and team members globally.

• Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.

• Participate in customer/society education meetings and conventions.

• Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.

• Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred

• 7+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree

• 5+ years case support experience

• 10+ years medical device industry, clinical or sales experience in an industry setting; supporting interventional cardiology, vascular or surgical products

• 5+ years' experience in Clinical Research, hospital, engineering or medical devices (3+ years' experience with Master's degree or 1+ years with PhD)

• 2+ years people leadership experience

• 2+ years' experience in the management of clinical devices

• 5+ years' experience in a cath lab, operating room, biomedical engineering, hospital/clinic or medical sales

• Excellent influencing and consulting skill

• Ability to manage in remote self-structured environment

• Experience with teaching/training medical personnel

A Day in the Life

The Regional Manager supports the Therapy Development team of TDMs and FCEs in driving procedural success in TMVR and TTVR cases. The Manager directs the daily operations of the team and coordinates with a cross functional team including Research and Development, Clinical, Quality, and others to ensure therapy adoption by customers, safe patient outcomes, meaningful device iteration feedback, best in class customer education, and, ultimately, successful commercialization of the TMVR and TTVR devices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities are to be performed as appropriate to ensure safe adoption and optimal patient outcomes.

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the Therapy Development team for clinical trial case support, executing on the strategies outlined by the Director, Therapy Development TMVR/TTVR.

• Recruit, develop, retain and manage staff of Field Clinical Specialists accountable for delivering technical support to ensure safe adoption and procedural outcomes.

• Monitor, guide, and coach remote direct reports to achieve enrollment targets, improve skills and productivity, and build sustainable customer relationships.

• Develop, implement, and manage business strategies to meet and exceed financial objectives.

• Develop global staffing matrix to ensure adequate case support needs are met.

• Partner with global cross-functional leaders to ensure adequate ancillary case support availability, delivery of industry leading physician training in accordance with local regulations and CIP, support of on-site training/in-servicing for local hospital physicians, nurses, techs and staff.

• Assist in AOP management, forecast creation, achieve revenue and expense goals.

• Support Therapy Development team in coordination and delivery of local training programs.

• Partner with Clinical, Quality, and the field team to ensure customer and device complaints are reported and resolved in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with the Sr Global Training Program Managers to ensure FCS' follow procedural best practices, are current on all imaging modalities (echo, CT, angiography), receive training on current and future device iterations, and stay up to date on relevant published data for both Medtronic and its competitors.

• Perform annual field evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve individual performance.

• Manage corporate resources, including demo product, simulators, and imaging equipment, direct allocation of resources and team members globally.

• Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.

• Participate in customer/society education meetings and conventions.

• Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.

• Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred

• 7+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree

• 5+ years case support experience

• 10+ years medical device industry, clinical or sales experience in an industry setting; supporting interventional cardiology, vascular or surgical products

• 5+ years' experience in Clinical Research, hospital, engineering or medical devices (3+ years' experience with Master's degree or 1+ years with PhD)

• 2+ years people leadership experience

• 2+ years' experience in the management of clinical devices

• 5+ years' experience in a cath lab, operating room, biomedical engineering, hospital/clinic or medical sales

• Excellent influencing and consulting skill

• Ability to deal with difficult situations and resolve conflict

• Ability to manage in remote self-structured environment

• Experience with teaching/training medical personnel

• Ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure

• Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures and the medical device industry

• Demonstrate ability to go broad with a value analysis committee (VAC) or similar personnel by sharing a mix of both economic and clinical messaging with key decision makers.

• Use Salesforce.com and Cognos to research account data, capture key finding about VAC members and input pertinent business data to allow for accurate forecasting.

• Convert product's technical features and benefits into financial/safety related messages per relevant audience.

• Identify, prioritize and recruit potential clinical and economic champions according to relevant criteria. Prepare champions for VAC meetings.

• Build rationale for a clinical evaluation with key decision-makers so that the evaluations are expected to succeed an intended primarily to demonstrate clinical acceptability.

• Identify opportunities to efficiently deliver hands-on training outside of the OR and selectively prioritize opportunities to be physically present during product use.

• Develop pre-call plans for quarterly reviews with customers: defining data to share, issues to discuss and agreements/action plans to pursue.

• Collaborate and invite colleagues from other COTs to join at appropriate discussion points with customer to drive cross-portfolio sales.

• Meet and exceed assigned quota and sales objectives including assigned quota uplift.

• Utilize technology and data to analyze territory, effectively target accounts and pre-call planning.

• Organize and maintain storage locker, samples and other sales material.

• Maintain knowledge of the current industry / competitive landscape including, GPO's, healthcare economics, reimbursement, competitors and competitive products etc.

• Interact with Marketing, Customer Service, and other internal departments.

• Resolve customer complaints in accordance with Company policy, and advises sales management promptly of any situation beyond the Sales Representative's

A Day in the Life

Provide detailed technical support for peripheral products and procedures to a wide range of clinical base including physicians, nurses and technicians. Support sales representatives with coverage for critical cases, primarily focused on cases with physicians that require technical support on the safe and effective use of our products.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide clinical and technical support as well as education to Medtronic customers in the area of PAD treatment

• Receive direction from the Sales Reps and District Managers on cases and physicians that require technical support and expertise

• Educate and provide information regarding clinical results and the clinical efficacy of our full bag portfolio

• Support regional sales strategy; work with sales representatives and managers to achieve business plans. This may include inventory support, technical case support, and compliant market development activities. Strong direction should be provided by the sales representative and the district manager

• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to be able to provide last minute technical case support where the organization or customers require it

• Provide education and support to CVG sales and clinical counterparts on peripheral products and partner within the team and CVG to share and leverage best practices

• Support all BU activities including but not limited to; training, PO collection and inventory management

MUST HAVE - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME

• H.S. Degree and 6+ years

• Associate degree and 4+ years

Principal Regulatory Affairs Specialist - Global Regulatory Strategy and Advocacy position sits in the regulatory organization of Medtronic Diabetes and is charged with cross-functional collaboration to help build and advocate for innovative global regulatory strategies for next generation diabetes devices. These strategies will require a global mindset and critical thinking skills related to cutting edge regulatory topics such as digital health technologies like AI and SaMD to cybersecurity. In this role, you will work in a heavily matrixed environment consisting of specialists from every aspect of the device lifecycle.

Your work will be focused on supporting all activities to advance new product technologies from a regulatory perspective, which can include optimizing workflows and processes. This intersectionality provides an excellent entry point for those with experience in other areas of the medical device space who are looking to evolve their careers, including those with backgrounds in device advocacy, systems engineering, software design, cybersecurity, and/or quality assurance. • Develop and refine fit-for-purpose regulatory strategies to support innovations in the Diabetes business with stakeholders across the business-US, EU, international regulatory teams as well as from various partner functions such as quality assurance and R&D.

• Maintain proficiency of worldwide regulatory intelligence, including competitor filings, as part of developing innovative regulatory strategies.

• Establish advocacy channels and maintain good relationships with regulatory agency personnel, allies in industry, and advocacy organizations to promote our objectives in the global regulatory landscape.

• Manage projects assigned to support business improvement initiatives including process improvement and maintenance.

• Socialize strategies, advocacy efforts, and new learnings with our partners to resolve potential regulatory issues and questions that may arise from regulatory agencies to achieve desired results. All significant issues will be reviewed with the manager.

• Provide strategic input for preparation of submission packages (e.g. PMAs, 510k, Technical file dossiers, international submissions, etc.).

• Review of supporting documentation (e.g., labeling, design verification, clinical study design, etc.) to assure alignment with global regulatory strategy.

• Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.

Must Have Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and a minimum of 7 years of regulatory experience within the medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries

• Or, advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years of regulatory experience within the medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree or Doctorate in scientific/engineering fields and related medical device-oriented disciplines (e.g. Regulatory Affairs)

• Critical thinking and creative problem solving

• Technically savvy: must be able to discuss, understand and make decisions regarding a wide array of engineering disciplines and complex technical / logistical issues

• Clear communicator, able to break down highly technical information with stakeholders of various backgrounds and functional responsibilities to find a common understanding

• Experience in assembling facts from various areas, analyzing data, and providing informed recommendations

• Able to participate effectively in multiple workstreams with different goals and expectations. Capable of meeting the needs of teams in a timeline-dependent environment

• Experience with technical presentations and/or education sessions

• Product experience with software medical devices and quality systems

• Good working knowledge of FDA and international regulatory agency requirements, ISO/GHTF standards

• Experience with regulatory submissions, such as IDEs, Original PMAs, 510(k)s, 180 Days, Design Dossiers, Technical Files, 30-day Notices, and Real Time Reviews

• Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC)

• Professional skill level with writing and presentation tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe software

A Day in the Life

The Regional Manager supports the Therapy Development team of TDMs and FCEs in driving procedural success in TMVR and TTVR cases. The Manager directs the daily operations of the team and coordinates with a cross functional team including Research and Development, Clinical, Quality, and others to ensure therapy adoption by customers, safe patient outcomes, meaningful device iteration feedback, best in class customer education, and, ultimately, successful commercialization of the TMVR and TTVR devices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities are to be performed as appropriate to ensure safe adoption and optimal patient outcomes.

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the Therapy Development team for clinical trial case support, executing on the strategies outlined by the Director, Therapy Development TMVR/TTVR.

• Recruit, develop, retain and manage staff of Field Clinical Specialists accountable for delivering technical support to ensure safe adoption and procedural outcomes.

• Monitor, guide, and coach remote direct reports to achieve enrollment targets, improve skills and productivity, and build sustainable customer relationships.

• Develop, implement, and manage business strategies to meet and exceed financial objectives.

• Develop global staffing matrix to ensure adequate case support needs are met.

• Partner with global cross-functional leaders to ensure adequate ancillary case support availability, delivery of industry leading physician training in accordance with local regulations and CIP, support of on-site training/in-servicing for local hospital physicians, nurses, techs and staff.

• Assist in AOP management, forecast creation, achieve revenue and expense goals.

• Support Therapy Development team in coordination and delivery of local training programs.

• Partner with Clinical, Quality, and the field team to ensure customer and device complaints are reported and resolved in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with the Sr Global Training Program Managers to ensure FCS' follow procedural best practices, are current on all imaging modalities (echo, CT, angiography), receive training on current and future device iterations, and stay up to date on relevant published data for both Medtronic and its competitors.

• Perform annual field evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve individual performance.

• Manage corporate resources, including demo product, simulators, and imaging equipment, direct allocation of resources and team members globally.

• Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.

• Participate in customer/society education meetings and conventions.

• Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.

• Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred

• 7+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree

• 10+ years medical device industry, clinical or sales experience in an industry setting; supporting interventional cardiology, vascular or surgical products

• 5+ years' experience in Clinical Research, hospital, engineering or medical devices (3+ years' experience with Master's degree or 1+ years with PhD)

• 2+ years people leadership experience

• 2+ years' experience in the management of clinical devices

• 5+ years' experience in a cath lab, operating room, biomedical engineering, hospital/clinic or medical sales

• Excellent influencing and consulting skill

• Ability to deal with difficult situations and resolve conflict

• Ability to manage in remote self-structured environment

• Experience with teaching/training medical personnel

• Ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide clinical and technical support and training to physicians and staff on the EP mapping and navigation system and all CAS products.

• Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters relating to CAS products and related procedures.

• Understand and support national, regional and territory sales objectives to achieve or exceed sales goals within all CAS products.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Craft a flexible and reliable test automation framework tailored to our company and product needs.

• Elevate existing test coverage through new code, codebase optimization, and collaborative code reviews (MR/PR).

• Be a problem-solver: identify and resolve challenges in both manual and automated testing infrastructures. Kick off new initiatives and own them.

• Lead a project and/or a module from start to finish . That includes but not limited to create Test Strategy, write Test Design/Test cases, Test plan, Hardware and software requirement needs, review product requirements, identify the gaps and risks, delegate the work to the other team members, gather daily and weekly updates and ensure overall project testing is on track.

• Become a knowledge hub: create training materials and mentor teammates .

• Smooth transitions: support onboarding, offboarding, and team member integration.

• Hands on experience and deep understanding in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) testing.

• Be an in-house expert and SME of the automation framework, programming language which is in-use, Appium, Jenkins, GitHub, BLE testing, Pump emulator/Simulator, SPIS boards, POSTMAN and API testing, Database testing.

• Optimize existing device farms and make them useful, while exploring alternatives like BrowserStack and Saucelabs.

• Lead geographically dispersed test engineering teams effectively.

• Quantify success: define KPIs and metrics to track team and project performance, leveraging data to identify and address issues proactively. Analyze dashboard stats weekly to find any issues happening on specific platforms, OS and help drive JIRA tickets to be assigned to right folks to mitigate the issues (Example dashboard logs, Firebase, Crash events).

• It is crucial for engineers to have access to physical test devices, including pumps, sensors, mobile and boards, to gain a comprehensive understanding of their hardware functionality and performance. This hands-on experience is essential for leading the design of effective and optimized tests and modules.

• Proactively track upcoming mobile OS releases and device launches to minimize support risks.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field and 7+ years of experience

• Or, Advanced Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field and 5+ years of experience

Nice to Have:

• Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer with a focus on mobile applications.

• Extensive experience in test automation using tools like JavaScript, Java, Python, Appium, Jenkins, CI/CD, test reports, parallel execution, or similar tools.

• Strong scripting skills in JavaScript and Appium for test automation and infrastructure management.

• Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts and web services.

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, BlazeMeter) and methodologies.

A Day in the Life

Provide technical, clinical and sales support, in collaboration with the sales team, within the region or assigned territory in support of the launch and adoption of the EP mapping and navigation system (Affera) and all products within the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) business. Collaborates with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to develop and execute on short-and long-term strategies, including the growth of the mapping and navigation system. Overall technical, clinical and educational support for the assigned territory.

Required Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum 6 years of work experience in the healthcare, engineering or medical field

OR

• An Associate's Degree AND a minimum 4 years of work experience in the healthcare, engineering or medical field

OR

• A Bachelor's degree AND a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the healthcare, engineering or medical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record with technical training assignments.

• Experience in the cardiac catheter ablation field, EP lab, in a hospital/clinic or EP medical sales providing technical / clinical support.

• Evaluates, selects and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.

• Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

A Day in the Life

The Product Manager for the US Acute Care & Monitoring team will be responsible for developing downstream marketing activities for the Core Airways portfolio. This entails creating marketing strategies, launch plans and portfolio management. The role also involves inventory management and performing product demonstrations for sales and surgeon customers.

In conjunction with sales and sales support staff, the Product Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive product marketing plan that includes competitive strategy, pricing analysis, sales forecasting, product launches, distribution analysis and inventory management. They will also continuously analyze competitive information to recommend product enhancements or developments.

The Medical Surgical Portfolio strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions.

This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic's Acute Care & Monitoring and/or Medical Care Management Systems businesses.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute comprehensive commercialization strategies

• Engage daily with the sales force and sales leadership teams to effectively drive the market growth of our adjunctive therapies portfolio

• Identify unmet clinical needs by analyzing existing opportunities and current and potential programs/tactics

• Create marketing strategies, launch plans, pricing tactics and portfolio management

• Maintain a two-year demand forecast reviewed monthly, reflecting market changes and sales input

• Plan and execute quarterly activities with a broad sales force and collaborating across a matrix to drive new sales initiatives

• Coordinate product plans and activities with a wide range of internal cross-functional partners including sales and global marketing

• Analyze competitive information and recommending product enhancements or developments

• Provide ongoing customer support and service to internal and external customers

• Track KPIs for key programs, tactics and activities and establishing regular state of the business communications to key stakeholders

• Responsible for product line sales forecasting and budget planning

• Travel requirement: 20-30%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Responsibilities include the following:

• Experience developing and maintaining complex mobile applications (iOS or Android)

• Self-motivated with great written and oral communication skills

• Ability to collaborate with system and software architects to interpret, analyze, and implement software requirements

• Ability to coach others on software development and provide constructive feedback to improve other's designs and implementation

• Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and unit tests mobile apps, components, and tools independently without any guidance

• Develop in Android Studio or Xcode

• Be an expert in one of the following languages: Dart, Java, Kotlin, C/C++, Objective-C, Swift

• Have a deep understanding and experience working with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; can identify root cause of complex problems and provide solutions to such complex issues

• Knowledge of Database operations on mobile devices

• Knowledge of integrating with REST based APIs

• Provide feedback to members of the requirements, development, and test team

• Work closely with quality and systems teams to ensure the product works properly from end-to-end, both pre and post-release.

• Work in agile/scrum environment

• Participate and contribute to product code and design reviews

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• 4 years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences

• Or, advanced degree with 2 years of experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in cross-platform technologies such as Flutter

A Day in the Life:

The Wound Management Specialist position, reporting directly to the Area Sales Manager, is responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals by advancing high quality medical supplies such as Sutures and Topical Skin Adhesives; utilizing a solution based concept sale to the hospital marketplace within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Discover customer priorities through current state assessment to determine pain points, economics, quality of care issues, staff morale and beyond.

• Effectively build an account plan which incorporates consolidated account-level data on sales, short term and medium term goals and customer mapping with VAC members and other stakeholders.

• Demonstrate ability to go broad with a value analysis committee (VAC) or similar personnel by sharing a mix of both economic and clinical messaging with key decision makers.

• Use Salesforce.com and Cognos to research account data, capture key finding about VAC members and input pertinent business data to allow for accurate forecasting.

• Convert product's technical features and benefits into financial/safety related messages per relevant audience.

• Identify, prioritize and recruit potential clinical and economic champions according to relevant criteria. Prepare champions for VAC meetings.

• Build rationale for a clinical evaluation with key decision-makers so that the evaluations are expected to succeed an intended primarily to demonstrate clinical acceptability.

• Identify opportunities to efficiently deliver hands-on training outside of the OR and selectively prioritize opportunities to be physically present during product use.

• Develop pre-call plans for quarterly reviews with customers: defining data to share, issues to discuss and agreements/action plans to pursue.

• Promotes and sells Medtronic's Medical/Scientific Equipment products and services including non-implantable medical or scientific equipment products and/or services (e.g., diagnostic medical equipment, medical imaging machines, medical laboratory equipment, and non-implantable medical devices) within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.

• Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including hospitals, physicians, and Radiology and Surgical personnel.

• Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's Medical/Scientific Equipment products and/or services.

• Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.

• Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree required

• Minimum of 3 years of sales experience and working knowledge of company products and services

Nice to Have

• Minimum of three years of documented outside sales success in a competitive, sophisticated environment, preferably tangible products (i.e. office equipment, copiers, payroll systems, information systems)

• Evidence of top sales achievement with experience in multilevel account management is required.

• Ability to travel domestically and within region often involving overnight stays and stays up to one week in duration.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of engineers and scientists within the Mitral & Tricuspid Implant team. This role is responsible for managing the team that performs image analysis of patient anatomies, develops FEA models for testing of implants, develops predictive clinical models, designs preclinical studies, supports clinical complaints, improves screening methods, and generates boundary conditions for Implant development. This individual will interface closely with other members of the Implant group to develop a cohesive product development strategy and establish best in class competencies.

The Structural Heart and Aortic integrated operating unit offers minimally-invasive approaches to restore proper structure and function of the heart and the aorta. We focus on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valves-aortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspid-and the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the body's largest artery, the aorta. This position will primarily support programs in Mitral and Tricuspid therapy areas.

This position is within the Structural Heart and Aortic (OSH-SHA) operating unit and is not open to remote candidates. The candidate must be local to Minneapolis/St Paul area and must be able to work on-site.

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Engineering Manager. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

• The Engineering Manager will work closely with other leaders of the Implant development team to establish the strategy for new Implant development

• Closely monitors emerging trends and technologies. Incorporates latest technologies and best practices in the team's PDP workflow

• Interfaces with customers to understand user needs and requirements.

• Organizes activities with external partners and consultants to ensure timely delivery.

• Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies and processes. Interfaces with peers across Medtronic to establish best practices and build competencies

• Accountability for mentoring, developing and coaching staff on performance expectations and defined objectives, providing leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives to include defining performance goals and targets, conducting performance reviews, and staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development efforts and manage toward departmental goals

• Provide technical input supporting submissions to regulatory bodies and governmental agencies.

• Implement and apply human data privacy restrictions

MUST HAVE - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE BE SURE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a technical discipline

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Engineering; managerial experience, OR advanced degree in Engineering, and/or Quality with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with 3 years of managerial experience

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree in engineering, science, or equivalent technical discipline

• Demonstrated understanding of Imaging Analysis.

• In depth knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology.

• In depth knowledge of tricuspid valve, mitral valve, and surrounding structures

• Ability to read and interpret cardiac imaging modalities: CT, echo, fluoro

• Analysis of large datasets

• Experience with Python and/or MATLAB

• Experience with physics-based modeling such as CFD or FEA

• Knowledge of catheter-based technologies

• Experience with heart valve development and manufacturing.

• Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably implantable medical devices

• Knowledge of product development cycles including clinical and regulatory requirements

• Ability to coach and mentor highly technical engineering team members.
