LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Reference Test Clerk to join our team. This position will be responsible for preparing and sending specimens and test requests to LabCorp and/or contracted reference laboratory for testing, as well as releasing referral test results into the computer system.

The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 7:00pm with OT as business needs demand.

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing

  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems

  • Send test requests to proper location and release test results

  • Assist clients with any specimen related requests or inquires

  • Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities

  • Provide support to various areas of the laboratory

  • Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving

  • Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred

  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Basic computer and data entry skills

  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment

  • Well organized and a high level of attention to detail

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test

The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

The schedule for this position will be: Monday-Friday 5:00pm-1:30am rotating every 3rd Saturday and 15th Sunday.

This testing uses a variety of wet chemistry extraction techniques including liquid-liquid, solid phase, and dilute-n-shoot methods. These extractions utilize both tubes and 96-well plates via manual or semi-automated pipetting systems which are then analyzed on a variety of instrument and software processing platforms.

Schedule : Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM

Differential : This position qualifies for a 10% differential

Required Education, Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

  • Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is not required

  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus

  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Key Responsibilities:

Job Description

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Burlington, NC. This role works in a high volume, production based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.

The schedule for this position will be a Third Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 4:00am-12:30pm.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens

  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis

  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information

  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance

  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues

  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred

  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills

  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask

  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Job Description

We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Come work in our Pathology laboratory located in Burlington, NC alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient.

In this role, the Histotechnician will perform technical duties related to production of histopathological slides. Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves histology related inquiries and problems within the laboratory and for LabCorp's clients.

The working schedule for this position will be: 3rd shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00pm-4:30am. This position is eligible for 15% shift differential for 3rd shift hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic exam

  • Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimens

  • Perform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections

  • Process mounted sections through routine and special staining procedures

  • Properly orient and embed surgical tissue specimens

  • Prepare the stains and reagents needed for special procedures

  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

  • Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments

  • Perform and document equipment maintenance as needed

  • Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner

  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies

  • Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reporting

  • Document problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions when needed

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with 1 year of Histology experience preferred. Must meet federal and local regulatory requirements

  • ASCP certification in Histology not required but preferred

  • Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment

  • Immunohistochemistry experience is a plus

  • Experience with embedding both large and small specimens

  • Ability to accurately read all labels and documents

  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail

  • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirable

  • Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols

  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls

  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary

  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

  • Previous experience is not required at the Technologist Trainee level

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus

  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
