Leidos Dynetics is seeking a talented Industrial Engineer (IE) to join a diverse team that is creating unique manufacturing solutions for our growing Defense Department customers! Our work today supports the warfighter tomorrow!

This position will support all manufacturing locations to develop, document, and execute manufacturing processes, systems, and procedures that support fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly integration and test. The IE will provide technical expertise to efficiently layout the manufacturing areas and balance the work content.

The Industrial Engineer will also provide critical input in formulating manufacturing strategies, defining business processes, facility planning, and driving engineering standards throughout the sites. You will be part of the leadership team, working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and Project Management staff. Duties require application of engineering & manufacturing principles, analysis, and techniques to optimize the production line and drive results.

Incumbents of this position regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Primary responsibilities include various activities to make the production workflow smoother and more efficient, detailed below.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve manufacturing challenges, which include supporting manufacturing growth while consolidating core competencies into common manufacturing facilities.

  • Support the development or management of technical capabilities, process roadmaps, and manufacturing strategies to meet key customer requirements including both internal and external customers.

  • Assist the site manufacturing teams with the development, justification, and execution of long-range plans to meet corporate objectives. This will include production launch activities, plant layouts, and engineering change control activities.

  • Assist in evaluation of capacity planning for fabrication, machining, weld, paint, and assembly equipment and processes to ensure ability to meet takt time and customer requirements.

  • Identify, prioritize, and implement solutions for process improvement opportunities including application of lean manufacturing principles, process mapping, root cause analysis, time studies, and problem-solving techniques.

  • Fostering an environment of continuous improvement through sharing of best practices within all manufacturing sites.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical discipline with at least 4 years of experience, OR Masters in technical or business discipline with at least 2 or more years of experience.

  • Candidate must have experience in manufacturing engineering functional support teams for Defense, Aerospace, Space or Commercial projects with an understanding of manufacturing engineering and quality requirements for such projects.

  • Technical experience in the creation of manufacturing strategies including make/buy decisions, equipment requirements, process definition, work area layout, tooling requirements, takt time evaluation, and capacity planning.

  • Ability to effectively work across multiple teams to drive manufacturing excellence across plants.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software and AutoCAD.

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in facility planning.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles, manufacturing metrics, and continuous improvement.

  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Solumina MES software is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Agile or Windchill PLM software is a plus.

  • Strong personnel, planning, and project management skills.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

The Commercial and International (C&I) Sector within the Leidos Corporation has an opening for a Chief Engineer. In this role, you will grow and manage the Engineering function within the C&I Sector, coordinating across the Leidos enterprise to ensure application of engineering discipline and rigor throughout the system lifecycle, as well as flawless program execution and increased efficiency.

This leadership position demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in commercial and defense markets, both domestically and internationally. Expertise in foundational technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), Cybersecurity, and Digital Engineering is necessary to help the Sector scale efficiency while reducing risk.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Define and manage the overall systems engineering, model-based systems engineering, reliability engineering, and digital engineering efforts across the Sector

-Define, maintain, update, and execute rigorous systems engineering tools, processes, and resources in all Sector Business Areas - and drive technical innovation into these areas

-Ensure proper engineering discipline, rigor, reporting, and focus in Sector solutions, and support planning for new business opportunities

-Provide hardware and software engineering to support production and manufacturing, logistics, maintenance, and sustainment (LMS) in commercial and international environments

-Provide engineering resource and talent planning

-Actively participate in the definition and implementation of the long-term engineering strategy aligned to the Sector and Corporate Technology Strategies, and the ever-evolving set of Sector and Corporate goals.

-Collaborate with Sector Management, Office of Technology (OOT)/Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Growth, and Line Leadership to execute our strategies and to further Sector business goals.

-Support Sector Manufacturing Leads with appropriate engineering processes and procedures.

-Active participation in the Capture Process to include writing and reviewing proposal material. Manage and execute peer-reviews throughout the business lifecycle, ensuring adherence to engineering processes and proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

-Collaborate on all engineering matters within the Sector and with any organization within Leidos.

-Develop and mentor a set of mid to senior level engineering staff to include providing career guidance and professional growth opportunities for high potential employees

-Collaborate with the CTO to further Leidos technical discrimination and growth goals with speed, scale, and security.

-Actively manage a diverse portfolio of Intellectual Property (including joint IP shared with commercial and government partners). Drive business differentiation through the use of patents, trade secrets, joint IP, and contact R&D.

-Collaborate with Growth and client-facing technical teams to understand customer needs, provide technical insights, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and customer/market expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

-Advanced (Ph.D. or Master's degree) degree in an Engineering or applicable Technical discipline from a recognized institution.

-Minimum of 15 years of technical leadership experience in both commercial and defense sectors. Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, complex engineering projects.

-Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams, integrated product teams, and working groups

-Experience driving innovation in the system engineering process and tools in areas like Model-Based System Engineering, Digital Engineering, and AI/ML

-Experience developing, enforcing, and improving engineering policy, standards, best practices, and management

-Experience working on international projects, with an understanding of global engineering standards and practices.

-Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Experience conducting technical and process trade studies and analysis of alternatives (AoA's)

-Understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) requirements, ability to collaborate with contract and legal advisors to enable compliant technology transition across international boundaries.

-Proven ability to manage and oversee over a rigorous system engineering process and tools to include requirements management, baseline management, risk management, configuration management, schedule management, verification and validation, and reporting

-Demonstrated experience in technical risk management throughout the system lifecycle

-Strong oral and written communication skills, along with public speaking skills

-Ability to influence and persuade others, as well as handle difficult negotiations requiring a well-developed sense of engineering execution

Desired Qualifications:

-Experience leading a globally distributed, highly technical workforce. Past history effectively navigating and bridging cultural differences within international teams, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes communication and understanding.

-Prior history helping programs -return to green- after faulty performance. Experience performing root cause analysis, re-baselining, and implementing new controls to assist in program recovery of schedule, cost, and technical baselines.

-Demonstrated performance managing a technical matrix - managing skilled resources spread across multiple projects, with shifting priorities.

-Familiarity and use of standard program management tools such as Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), etc

-Significant experience supporting capture activities to include chairing/participating in Gate Reviews, writing specific sections of proposals, and providing preliminary technical guidance for solutions

-Prior experience developing and implementing strategies for the recruitment, development, and retention of engineering technical talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

-Understanding of various domestic and international policies and regulations in the defense and security product sectors relating to system accreditation, use of data/data privacy, and others. Experience ensuring compliance with emerging regulatory constructs.

This contract supports CMS goals to deliver an efficient, easy-to-use hosting environment to migrate legacy applications from on-premises to the public cloud, to modernize existing applications for efficient use of infrastructure resources and integrate new applications into the environment. The program supports the entire application product lifecycle. The program operates to support the Application Development/Delivery Organization (ADO) agile cadence while providing a secure environment. Leidos has an opening for a highly qualified Cross Domain Integration Engineer for the Multi-Domain Solutions Division. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your experience to support across all-domain large-scale weapon systems, Information Technology Systems, and Command and Control Systems to realize the Department of Defense Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2). In this role you will support an Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) Processing Node (PN) to design and implement solutions that can be delivered at speed, scale, and with the necessary security to deliver operational advantages to the joint warfighter. ABMS is a top modernization priority for the Department of the Air Force and will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across JADC2. This position will work closely with Program Managers, other domain engineers, and Government counterparts across Government and Industry partners.

This position will allow for a flexible schedule, with some telework allowed. Our preferred candidate will reside in Alexandria, VA, but we may be able to consider other locations if they are local to our sites in Richardson, Texas, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Melbourne, FL.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead systems efforts to integrate cross-domain and communications encryption technologies into US military data processing nodes.

  • Implement and configure cross-domain transfer devices (Diodes, Guards), cross-domain access technologies (cross-domain remote desktop brokers, cross-domain thick client VM streaming), and remote desktop technologies and standards (RDP, PCoIP) to ensure secure data transfer and access across domains.

  • Deploy and manage Type-1 encryptors, particularly TACLANE, including key management, to safeguard sensitive information and maintain compliance with encryption standards.

  • Integrate embedded communications encryption technologies, specifically CSfC, to enhance data security and confidentiality within military data processing nodes, ensuring adherence to rigorous security protocols and standards.

  • Develop comprehensive integration plans and workflows, ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives while mitigating potential risks and challenges.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance integration capabilities.

  • Facilitate technical and programmatic information exchange in support of Program Objectives

Basic Qualifications
