Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to implement and manage HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) programs relative to a large national/international corporate account or market area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of a client account(s). Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.

Monitors injury, illness, and incident related performance within the account, market area, or other assigned area of responsibility. Monitors performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance and develops and implements strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.

Manages, develops and implements HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of the client account.

Oversees HSE plans, playbooks, and procedures for the account, market area, or assigned area of responsibility. Ensures information is current, complete and effectively implemented.

Monitors HSE (Health and Safety and Environmental) regulatory compliance within the account, market area, or assigned area of responsibility. Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible managers to effect timely and necessary corrections. Assist in the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required.

Assists in identifying in opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services for a client/account.

Promotes safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting safety meetings, giving timely feedback, on safety suggestions and visibly supporting the safety program(s).

Acts as a resource to staff and employees as an HSE subject matter expert.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and / or facility maintenance and management is preferred.

The Surgical Regulatory Affairs Sr Manager handles all regulatory development aspects of surgical devices. The incumbent participates on the product development team to provide regulatory guidance for surgical devices assigned. The Construction Administrator will have heavy site involvement being the conduit between field staff and design staff serving as adviser and implementer of decisions related to site conditions. Accountabilities:

  • Function as the lead construction coordinator which may include lead communicator between client, contractor and design team. Ensures comprehensive understanding by all team members of scope, quality expectations, budget, deadlines, etc. in order to deliver successful projects. Serves as the primary responsible contractor contact with responsibility for overall client satisfaction of the assigned project.

  • Attends construction meetings to support the coordination with all internal and external constituents to ensure project needs are met.

  • Procedures, methodology and practices required for a successful project execution.

  • Coordinates construction development of architectural details and construction practices that are being used in the field to inform future drawing development on the design team.

  • Works closely with design team and engineers to resolve conflicts and differences in the field.

  • Performs other duties and special projects as required.

  • Collaborate with department for reviewing of drawings, specifications and details to align with construction practices in the field.

    Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.

  • Education requirements may be satisfied through equivalent combination of education and job experiences on a case by case basis.

  • 5-7 years' relevant work history in the construction field.

  • Experience with project leadership and/or management.

  • Solid experience with building products, construction details, and regulations is required.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge and ability to work in Procore platform

  • Flexibility to travel as needed

Responsibilities Project Manager in the Facility Design and Construction Branch. Performs project management activities associated with Design and Procurement, Construction, Closeout, and Post-Project Review phases of the NEXCOM Capital Improvement Program. Coordinates work on assigned projects through other phases of the capital project process. Performs professional work in connection with preparation of scopes of work, design standards, schematic drawings and fixture plans of projects. Manages project design and construction scope, schedules and budgets. Responsibilities Develops and/or reviews designs and estimated costs of construction of new buildings and major renovations of Navy Exchanges, Minimarts, Warehouses and Navy Lodges worldwide. Assists in selecting architectural and engineering (AE) firms to prepare plans and specifications for such projects and related activities, and inspection and acceptance of construction sites. Develops budget costs for new projects from preliminary plans and functional requirements originating from Navy Exchanges system wide. Projects range from all Navy Lodges, old and new, to one-stop shopping complexes (large, multi-story, multipurpose facilities), to such minor construction or renovation projects as construction of gasoline dispensing facilities. Upon tentative approval, these projects form the basis of the NEXCOM Projects for the ensuing fiscal year. Prepares scope of project, written description and schematic drawing of projects which forms the basis for advertisement in connection with the selection of architectural and engineering (A/E) firms and renovation work to be done by NEXCOM in-house construction crew. Tracks, forecasts and controls funding throughout the complete design and construction cycle of assigned renovation and construction projects. Responsible for assigned projects total funds expenditures to remain within approved limits. Ensures change orders are reviewed/approved in accordance with established guidance. Actively participates and represents NEXCOM in pre-negotiation, pre-design and coordination meetings, with selected architectural and engineering firms and the field activities concerned for the purpose of instructing in specific design and construction procedures and requirements to be followed. Discusses and clarifies problem areas and answers technical architectural and engineering questions. Reviews and coordinates with NAVFAC such matters as scheduling; resolves such problems as siting, relationship to other existing structures. Acts as prime point of contact (P.O.C.) and project representative with outside agencies such as NAVFAC, PWD and local activities during design and construction phases. Reviews, on a continuing basis, design submittals of contracted architect and engineering firm, for functional, technical and aesthetic adequacy, including their cost estimates. Where inadequacies and/or deficiencies are noted, advises architect and engineering firms of corrective submittal stages until final approved package is obtained. Coordinates with NAVFAC and other Navy commands as well as with the field activities concerned for concurrence of designs submitted.
