Description for Internal Candidates

Position will be filled as an Apprentice Lineman or Lineman depending on the qualifications, experience and skills of the successful candidate. This position will report to Hattiesburg, MS.
This position will be covered by the Memorandum of Agreement between Mississippi Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
Job Summary
This position will be filled as a Journeyman Lineman or Apprentice Lineman depending on the applicant's qualifications. This position is responsible for working in a line crew on overhead and underground construction and maintenance of distribution systems. This position is responsible for responding to and correcting problems with the electrical distribution system during normal working hours, after hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
Job Responsibilities
Candidate must safely perform any work normally or reasonably required in this classification. This position builds, maintains, inspects, trouble-shoots, replaces, and repairs distribution power lines, poles, and related equipment according to Company specifications and manufacturer's recommendations. Successful candidate will review work orders and determine material needed to complete jobs; along with being able to safely load wire coils, poles, equipment, and materials onto trucks. Candidate is responsible for using hand tools to assemble materials, connectors, brackets, and other equipment in preparation for installation on pole-lines or underground systems. This position frequently works aerially from a ladder, lift bucket, and pole-climbing tools to remove/replace/repair equipment. Successful candidate must climb utility poles and other structures. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining tools/trucks. Successful candidate must maintain regular attendance and comply with all safety procedures, practices and requirements. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in person, by radio, and by phone to various company personnel in the normal course of duties. If this position is filled as an apprentice, the applicant will complete a prescribed Journeyman Development Program.
Job Requirements
Must pass or have passed the Construction and Skills Trade Test (CAST) in order to be considered
Must currently have or possess the ability to obtain a valid Mississippi Commercial Drivers license within 6 months of employment
Must maintain weight to comply with equipment manufacturer's restrictions
Must be available for call out overtime work, scheduled overtime work, and overnight travel as needed
Availability for timely response to call outs are required
The successful applicant must currently live within or be willing to relocate to within a 30 minute commute from the assigned headquarters office. No relocation assistance available.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of customer relation skills and the ability to think clearly and make logical decisions under pressure.
Average or above average computer skills are desired.
Working knowledge of electricity and the maintenance of electrical lines is necessary.
Ability to operate machinery and vehicles, use basic hand tools, the ability to work at heights, climb tall structures, read blueprints, lift, carry and pull heavy objects.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and work in enclosed, dark areas
Work methods must adhere to all safe work practices and must possess the ability to build solid interpersonal relationships with other employees
Other Requirements
In order for the applicant to be hired as a journeyman lineman, 5 years distribution line crew experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Instrument and Controls (I&C) or Mechanical craft planning for implementation, evaluation, corrective work instructions, and providing general support to the Maintenance teams as needed. Within the skill areas, a Nuclear Planning Specialist is expected to produce a high-quality product, be engaged with the work force, and seek ways to improve the product, use computer programs, analyze data and offer recommendations to engineers and supervisors. This position may be required to coordinate different projects or tasks.

Primary point of contact for the unarmed security contract company and Corporate Security.
Ensure all security posts are staffed and equipped to prevent unauthorized personnel and contraband from entering the campus.
Manage all contract security staffed at each location, to include conducting uniform inspections, ensuring all posts are staffed according to contracted terms, verifying hours worked align with hours billed, incident reporting and tracking.
Manage training on all emergency response procedures, fire notifier systems, access control and CCTV; to include security system upgrades or enhancements to officers at each location.
Assist in maintaining positive liaison with leadership on each staffed site, to include facilities, as well as local law enforcement and emergency first responders.
Ensure continuous strategic and operational alignment with the expectations of the Corporate Security Management, as well as all internal and external stakeholders.

Summary of Position Duties
The Environmental Analyst / Engineer position is responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing water-related environmental programs, guidelines, and compliance strategies for Georgia Power. Job-Specific Responsibilities
Develop cost-effective compliance strategies for water related regulations and permits, including environmental guidelines, communications, and training. Specific compliance programs include but are not limited to the Clean Water Act, Georgia Water Quality Act, Georgia NPDES Program, and Safe Drinking Water Act.
Obtain all required water-related environmental permits, licenses, and certifications to support electric generating facilities.
Monitor compliance programs through regular program reviews, task tracking (Enablon) and customer engagement to assure adherence to applicable regulations and permits. Assist with development of and revision to business unit procedures/policies related to water programs.
Make decisions as to the effectiveness of compliance activities and report to environmental management and company business units.
Influence, track, and interpret environmental regulations and policy at the federal and state level. Positively engage regulatory agencies to promote informed, balanced, and science-based regulations and permit requirements. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the U.S. EPA, Georgia EPD, and others.
Provide interface and input to Southern Company environmental personnel regarding federal or industry environmental issues related to water programs. Organize and coordinate with other utilities and industry groups to influence and comment on proposed state rules, regulations and permits.
Develop partnerships with all levels of business units and electric generating facilities management to implement cost-effective solutions, training programs and innovative technologies to eliminate or minimize environmental risks. Incorporate Environmental Management System (EMS) components in business unit processes and identify opportunities to improve compliance.
Promote and support the Company's environmental policies, conservation, and stewardship in all areas of the business and external engagement.

The Corporate Services Systems Portfolio, within the SCS Technology Organization (TO), provides support for ~160+ highly diverse application solutions for ~20+ different functional & departmental Business Partners, across the enterprise. The Application Development Supervisor - Corporate Back-Office Technologies (CBOT) will function as a key role within the Corporate Services Systems Portfolio, providing technical leadership and consultation, in support of the unique and evolving business imperatives - and associated technology needs - of the supported Business Partners. This position will be responsible for supervising a team of Application Developers and Analysts responsible for a sub-set of ~70+ application solutions for External Affairs (Corporate Communication, Governmental/Legislative Affairs, & Region/Division Affairs), Charitable Giving & Volunteer Services, Corporate Safety & Health, Risk Management, and Disability Management.
The Application Development Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Portfolio - CBOT Business Partner relationships and associated application solutions, which includes strategic planning, current and new application solutions, application lifecycle management, stakeholder communications, resource and vendor management, and technology budgeting. This position will provide work/task planning, direction, and prioritization, performance feedback and coaching, and training/development plans for the Portfolio-CBOT team to ensure they have the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to provide comprehensive application solution support that meets or exceeds Business Partner expectations.
As a leader in TO, the Application Development Supervisor will combine business and TO acumen with cross-functional leadership skills, to collaborate and innovate with both TO and Business Partner stakeholders, to facilitate and execute a range of diverse, line-of-business projects to achieve maximum business value and exceptional customer service/satisfaction through the appropriate use of technology.
Job Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance and direction to the Portfolio - CBOT technical team, leading the strategic and tactical directions for day-to-day activities.
Embed with supported Business Partners - building strong relationships and serving as a trusted technology advisor - to enhance the strategic partnership with TO.
Serve as the initial, management point-of-contact for Portfolio - CBOT application solutions.
Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager, Technology Planning Analysts, and Application Solutions Architect to explore technology governance and strategic technology planning opportunities for supported Business Partners, to drive development of requisite technology roadmaps to provide prioritization of pertinent technology projects/initiatives for implementation, in support of business imperatives.
Own and manage end-to-end software lifecycle plans/processes for Portfolio - CBOT application solutions.
Implementation of new application solutions (custom development, third-party package, or SaaS).
Enhancements, upgrades, migrations, etc. of existing application solutions.
Coordinate planning and execution of application solution release cycles.
Assist in rationalizing eligible application solutions.
Operational support/maintenance activities for all application solutions.
Ensure all required support documentation is in place and routinely updated, inclusive of applicable business continuity/disaster recovery plans.
Implement and maintain support/maintenance processes focused on identification and mitigation of root cause.
Develop and execute communication plans to notify stakeholders of operational or project activity with application solution and/or business process impacts.
Own and manage a comprehensive, prioritized Portfolio - CBOT team workplan to ensure delivery on commitments.
Ensure technical resources are effectively utilized; maintain the ability to flex to meet Business Partners demands.
Own and manage new application solution requests for supported Business partners - solution research, evaluation, recommendation, design, implementation/cost proposal, and execution.
Own and manage Portfolio - CBOT application solution vendor relationships - contracts, SOWs, service levels, etc.
Focus on strong value-add partnerships to meet the imperatives of supported Business Partners.
Establish and maintain strong partnerships/working relationships with other TO organizations and resources.

Education & Experience

JOB SUMMARY
This position will provide leadership, guidance and direction to Protection & Control Applications (PCA) and serve as a technical resource in the Protection System Applications area to Substation Engineering, System Operations, and Field Services personnel. Functional Expertise:
Develop technical procedures, projects, and engineering designs, by interacting with staff and performing quality reviews to ensure designs meet PHMSA, State, and Company standards
Perform analysis in support of MAOP Reconfirmation method selection including review of hydrotest vs replace, downrate or retirement
Implementation support of regulator station data including operating diagram, health scores, SFL's, as-found drawings into existing systems including AR and GIS.
Familiarity with GIS transmission and core modules as well as Laserfiche. Job requires analytical analysis utilizing a combination of GIS and other record sources.
Familiarity with review of construction documentation include contractor as-builts, engineering as-builts, weld log, material log, enhanced GIS data, MTR's and hydrotest documentation.
Work to establish and organize the detailed historical records pertaining to gas system integrity
Track projects from concept through completion with responsibility for schedule and budget variances
Follow established Asset Development Processes (ADP) to ensure meaningful structure exists to meet departmental and company objectives
