Job Summary:
PowerSecure is seeking qualified candidates for exciting new projects throughout the US. Core competencies for the Mechanical Foreman include the ability to oversee Mechanical Project Installations including: Piping Replacements, Chillers, Boilers, Air Handlers, Pumps, VAV Boxes etc. by managing internal installers or technicians and subcontractors. Minimum Qualifications:
High School, GED Equivalent and/or Trade School.
Valid Driver's license.
Minimum of 10 years in the pipefitting/mechanical trade and a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
Experience with various types of pipe and fitment techniques, including screw pipe, grooved, compression, fusion, glue, sweat, braze and weld, of various materials including steel, copper, plastic, fiberglass etc, with diameters ranging from - to 12- or greater.
Experience with sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation.
Experience with electrical and controls installation (not required, but a plus).
Must be able to pass a government background check, drug test and other site pre-access requirements.
OSHA 30 training (not required, but a plus).
Position requires a willingness to travel to project locations when assigned to work on projects that require onsite presence for extended project durations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of pipefitting/mechanical skills within the commercial, institutional and/or industrial HVAC industry.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications and equipment submittals.
Ability to take off, measure and order materials as needed for a complete project installation.
Must have a working knowledge of software programs including Procore, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of general project accounting.
Ability to be a safety leader to ensure site safety standards are met and all personnel perform project and job duties safely.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Coordinate installation schedule with project manager, customer, and subcontractors.
Collaborate with project manager to produce weekly and monthly look ahead schedules to ensure material, equipment and manpower needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of work.
Create, utilize, and distribute Daily Reports to document project work.
Complete daily job safety briefings for site personnel at the beginning of each shift. This daily function also includes delegation of responsibilities to supervised staff.
Develop pipefitters, sheet metalworkers, HVAC technicians and apprentices in work-related areas to enhance work knowledge, productivity, and safety.
Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.
Maintain safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures; Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdiction requirements.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be physically capable of walking, climbing, kneeling, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and talking.
Workers can be subjected to possible bodily injury from pipe fitting equipment, tools, materials, etc. Work environment may include exposure to weather, extreme heat (including humidity) or cold, noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working at heights, and working around explosives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with HVAC Foreperson and project team to ensure material and equipment needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of actual work.
Read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and equipment submittals.
Utilize construction plans to layout and install HVAC equipment and supports.
Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related domestic water, hydronic and pneumatic system. Systems will vary in complexity, size, and pressure rating.
Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain ductwork for ventilation applications. These systems will vary in complexity, size, and rating.
Must be able to work well with others and be able to take direction.
Train apprentices in work-related areas to enhance installation knowledge, productivity, and safety.
Strong organizational and planning skills; Able to effectively allocate and develop resources.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a Southern Company Technology Organization (TO) End User Analyst, II that will partner with Southern Company Services (SCS) and related operating companies to provide technology consulting to business partners to deliver automated or enhanced technological solutions based on the business partner's personal use of technology.Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to educate and train business partners on the use of Southern Company standard products and services. Provides project coordination on technological projects for business partners. This position provides support to business partners located at the various locations of Alabama Power Company's (APC) Eastern Division. Education

This role is responsible for following work instructions created from engineering drawings to build power generation equipment to specified design. This engineer will be responsible for engineering related activities at a power generating plant. This position is responsible for providing plant technical support and developing long term plans and budgets to maintain and improve equipment performance. Power Generation Engineers manage capital and O&M projects, follow prescribed procedures and, conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components. This position is accountable for providing technical direction and troubleshooting for plant electrical and mechanical systems. The incumbent will be responsible for providing ongoing inspection and evaluation of equipment and for determining the appropriate direction on design and performance improvements, upgrades, and other modifications. This individual will be a troubleshooting resource for operations and maintenance.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide outage/project management, project budget management, long term maintenance strategies and technical support to the plant
Develop 5- & 10-year capital budgets and justification for associated capital projects
Provide monthly accruals and budget variance explanations to the Financial Analyst
Monitor plant performance and make recommendations to improve heat rate and unit reliability.
Utilize computer business tools to develop and justify budgets, write work orders, order material, develop project schedules, and monitor equipment.
Initiate, troubleshoot and review root cause analyses for system equipment failures
Work with Southern Company Services, OEM's and system owners at other plants to stay current of any upgrades or concerns that affect the plant and communicate these needs to plant management, corporate management, and peer groups.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited program/institution is required
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering preferred, but willing to consider other engineering disciplines
M.S. in Business or Engineering a plus
Professional Engineer (PE) license would also be a plus
Experience
Experience in an industrial facility with mechanical/electrical project or design focus involving the maintenance of the following types of equipment: pumps/motors, air/motor operated valves, fans, condensers, boilers, turbines, PLC's, distributed control systems, and industrial electrical switchgear, circuit breakers and transformers.
Demonstrated project management experience required
Strong technical expertise and problem-solving abilities required

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
Actively and accurately captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal and recognizes abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion, meters under stress, etc.
Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.
Assists in conducting investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters and special readings by meter reading validation.
Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.
Responds to questions from customers and provides answers directly or by referral.
Provide assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system to include:
Operating basic equipment and tools
Traffic control
Landscaping and general maintenance
Digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing and wrapping pipes
Pressure recording devices
Uses a variety of tools (hand, air, shovels, etc.) while performing distribution crew activities.
Ensures truck is stocked with equipment, supplies, tools and other equipment in neat and orderly condition.
Operates Automated Dispatch system to complete meter reads and turn-offs service at customer's premise.
Identifies abnormal operating conditions and takes appropriate actions.
Performs simple sniff tests to detect gas leaks.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Education, Certificate/Licenses:
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude
Basic knowledge and use of hand tools and equipment
Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments
Valid Driver's License
Preferred:
Field operations experience to include distribution crew work
Experience with heavy equipment operation
Technical school training and certification
Welding experience or certification; Commercial driver's license or permit

Basic Function:
Entry level position responsible for completing a variety of tasks in support of field operations to include deactivation of service, delayed match, corrosion inspections, meter paints, reading meters and assisting with other maintenance activities as needed. Serves as a member of a crew engaged in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines. Performs basic tasks including operating heavy equipment, using hand tools, basic leak investigation, assisting in mechanical joining, landscape maintenance and traffic control. Performs meter reading, ERT installations and ERT programming in conjunction Automated Meter Reading duties. This is a bargaining unit position (IBEW Local 1997). This position will have an automatic progression pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
