Customer Service Representative - Floater Position Locations: Headland, Abbeville, and Eufaula - Business Offices

Job Summary:

This position will act as the initial contact with the customer, whether in the local business office or through telephone or online inquiries. The successful candidate must be ableto handle cashier responsibilities, bill inquiries, applications for service, non-pay reconnects, payment arrangements, billing adjustments, and promote products and services. The successful candidate should be knowledgeable of collection procedures. They must have the ability to engage with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.Applicant should be customer service oriented and must have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and possess strong initiative.

The successful candidate must be flexible and is expected to float between the Headland, Abbeville, and Eufaula offices as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and greeting customers in the local office and/or over the phone or online

  • Processing payments and balancing cash funds:

  • Posting payments in CSS, processing Item 14 payments, daily balancing cash drawer and kiosk

  • Assisting customers with electrical service issues:

  • Connect/disconnect service, assessing deposits, outdoor lighting request, outage reporting, rate selection

  • Responding to customers with billing or collection inquiries:

  • Final bill collections, high bill explanations, payment arrangements, special agreements set-ups, transfer payments, issuing various meter investigation orders

  • Promoting and selling Alabama Power Company products and services:

  • Budget billing, flat bill, EFT, paperless billing, electric water heater conversions, All Connect transfers, Agency Assistance portal, landlord portal, OCC

  • Assisting customers with program requests:

  • Bill extender, summary billing, SSI, text messaging enrollments (billing and outage alerts)

  • Educating customers on ways to avoid/address service or payment issues in the future

  • Understands the meter reading process and billing cycle

  • Assisting with merchandise sales

  • Representing Alabama Power Company to customers in a positive manner

Experience:

  • Proven customer service experience

  • Cash handling experience preferred

  • Collection experience preferred

The Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for providing the overall leadership and direction for the engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities

ES will lead the engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning as well as implementation of the STEP observation tools. This includes ownership of our Diversity and Inclusion efforts as well as leadership in continuing to advance our Southern Company -Ensuring Equity- plans. Development of the team members as well as communications within the team are key responsibilities for the ES. The ES will provide leadership and guidance for planning, engineering, design, and construction of all activities in the area and will help monitor and guide area-wide Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance to ensure reliability. This includes investigating extended or significant outages as well as timely addressing customer issues that arise. The ES will provide performance management as well as leadership and guidance in dealing with customer issues (internal and external). This position will work closely with the other functional departments in the area to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and cost as well as supporting external community activities. The ES will also serve as the SERP Operations Director and will be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Proven leadership abilities and commitment to Safety Excellence.

  • Formal leadership experience is required

  • Proven record of dealing effectively with customers

  • Influencer and champion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion through words and actions

  • A minimum of 5 years Power Delivery experience preferred

This position reports to the Distribution Construction Supervisor and is responsible for contract crews performing overhead/underground new construction maintenance trouble calls and storm response. This position is also responsible for joint trench installation and billing, overhead re-conducting, cable replacement, storm duty, the safety of service crews and their performance in the Jonesboro Distribution Area.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Coordinating contract resources to ensure Distribution Construction Achieves Safety Excellence, budgetary needs, productivity, schedules, customer satisfaction and quality goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling/planning, attending pre-construction meetings, quality control, inventory and closing out assigned projects. To be effective in this position, the incumbent must work well with and communicate with Engineering and other departments, internal and external customers, builders, developers, joint trench partners, electricians, claims, etc. This job will require an alternate work schedule to accomplish the listed responsibilities. This person will have to work closely with the Joint Trench partners and the Power Services Organization. The DC Coordinator will work closely with region leadership to support their storm restoration plans.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • Valid Driver's License required.

  • 12+ years of experience directly managing high risk construction projects, with an emphasis on data center construction, electrical, and mechanical.

  • BS in Construction Management or equivalent work experience required.

  • PMP Certification is preferred.

  • OSHA 30 a plus

  • Demonstrated supervisory skills with diverse teams consisting of contractors, external vendors, material supply resources, construction crews, engineers, architectural designers; direct reports and scope of responsibility will average 15-45 personnel that are geographically dispersed nationally.

The EES Program Manager will serve as a strategic manager dedicated to the success of the assigned contract program. Southern Nuclear Operating Company's Plant Vogtle 3&4 Site Engineering organization is seeking a high performing Electrical Engineer with an analytical mindset and strong technical and leadership skills to support commissioning and operation of the next generation nuclear power station. This position will be located at Southern Nuclear Company's Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, Georgia.

Job Summary

This position is assigned to the Site Design Engineering organization in the Electrical Design group and is part of the Startup Engineering organization at the Vogtle 3&4 site. This position will provide electrical engineering support for design changes primarily for the station's electrical equipment.

Southern Nuclear, a subsidiary of Southern Company, manages and operates six nuclear power electric generating plants that provide approximately 20 percent of the electricity used in Alabama and Georgia. Southern Nuclear is leading the nuclear renaissance by building the first new U.S. nuclear reactors in more than 25 years. When completed, the two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors currently under construction at Plant Vogtle will make the facility the largest in the U.S. with four reactors on one site. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Obtain Design qualifications and support development and implementation of design changes for Vogtle 3&4 and designs interfacing with the operating units Vogtle 1&2

  • Obtain emergency response organization qualifications and serve on a duty team rotation.

  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge regarding AP1000 electrical systems and equipment design - Support development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, processes, and procedures as they relate to electrical systems.

  • Participate in industry groups (EPRI, IEEE, NEI, etc.) supporting electrical systems.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • EIT/FE or Professional Engineer Registration is a plus.

Job Requirements:

  • Though there will be opportunities to work from home, must be willing and able to work at the site and reside close enough to site to respond within 90 minutes.

  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience in electrical design, modifications, and/or systems engineering is plus.

  • Knowledge and understanding commercial nuclear power plant regulations, codes, and standards is a plus.

  • 3 years engineering experience in electrical design is desired.

  • 3 years nuclear power plant related engineering experience is desired.

  • Previous design change experience is desired.
