Job Summary:
PowerSecure is seeking qualified candidates for exciting new projects throughout the US. Core competencies for the HVAC Pipefitter/Installer include the ability to complete HVAC installations including Piping Replacements, Equipment Installations including Chillers, Boilers, Air Handlers, Pumps, VAV Boxes etc. Our company provides a safety centric culture, great opportunities for upward growth, professional development, and competitive compensation packages.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
High School, GED Equivalency, and/or Trade School
Valid Driver's license.
Minimum of 3 years in the pipefitting trade in the institutional, industrial or commercial HVAC sector.
Experience with various types of pipe and fitment techniques, including screw pipe, grooved, compression, fusion, glue, sweat, braze and weld, of various materials including steel, copper, plastic, fiberglass etc, with diameters ranging from - to 6- or greater.
Hands-on experience with demolition and installation of various types of commercial HVAC equipment and related processes.
Experience with Sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation (not required, but a plus).
Experience with electrical and controls installation (not required, but a plus).
Must be able to pass a government background check, drug test and other site pre-access requirements.
Apprenticeship program (not required, but a plus).
OSHA 10 training (not required, but a plus).
Position requires a willingness to travel to project locations when assigned to work on projects that require onsite presence for extended project durations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with HVAC Foreperson and project team to ensure material and equipment needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of actual work.
Read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and equipment submittals.
Utilize construction plans to layout and install HVAC equipment and supports.
Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related domestic water, hydronic and pneumatic system. Systems will vary in complexity, size, and pressure rating.
Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain ductwork for ventilation applications. These systems will vary in complexity, size, and rating.
Must be able to work well with others and be able to take direction.
Train apprentices in work-related areas to enhance installation knowledge, productivity, and safety.
Strong organizational and planning skills; Able to effectively allocate and develop resources.
Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.
Maintain safe work environment by complying with safety policies and procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be physically capable of walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, handling, reaching, depth perception, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and talking.
Workers can be subjected to possible bodily injury from pipe fitting equipment, tools, materials, etc. Work environment may include exposure to weather, extreme heat (including humidity) or cold, noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working at heights, and working around explosives.

The purpose of this position is to provide back-office support for capital construction projects. Process New Business extension contracts, verify contribution in aid of construction (CIAC) information, and submit funds to Accounting
Process inbound credit card payments for CIACs and process refunds to customers due to project changes
Print, update, and distribute service cards to service centers. This process includes researching premise information via County GIS mapping, navigating the Southern Company Gas work management information system (WMIS) to update service cards, and pulling engineering drawings needed per the operations procedure manual (OPM)
Process invoices, analyze and resolve invoice discrepancies or missing data via recycle report

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
Actively and accurately captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal and recognizes abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion, meters under stress, etc.
Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.
Assists in conducting investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters and special readings by meter reading validation.
Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.
Responds to questions from customers and provides answers directly or by referral.
Provide assistance with all distribution activities involved with the installation, repair and maintenance of the distribution system to include:
Operating basic equipment and tools
Traffic control
Landscaping and general maintenance
Digging, shoring, repairing leaks, testing and wrapping pipes
Pressure recording devices
Uses a variety of tools (hand, air, shovels, etc.) while performing distribution crew activities.
Ensures truck is stocked with equipment, supplies, tools and other equipment in neat and orderly condition.
Operates Automated Dispatch system to complete meter reads and turn-offs service at customer's premise.
Identifies abnormal operating conditions and takes appropriate actions.
Performs simple sniff tests to detect gas leaks.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Education, Certificate/Licenses:

High school diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude

Valid Driver's License

Prepare field orders (e.g., turn-ons, turn-offs, transfers, meter sets and removals); updates and maintains customer account information. Determine documentation requirements; review and maintain hard copies when necessary.
Provide information related to outside assistance and other options.
Respond to service policy, rate questions, and billing inquiries.
Answer complex credit and billing inquiries, investigate high bills, analyze customer credit status, quote amount due, authorize extensions, and make arrangements for payment of past due bills, final bills, and returned checks.
Coordinate work requests with appropriate departments and service centers; informs customers of actions taken.

Adhere to established policy, procedure and quality standards within service standards or metrics for work performed.

At Nicor Gas, we handle emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, similar to a fire/police department. All other call types are handled 7:00 AM-6:00 PM Monday through Friday (i.e. start service, billing questions, etc...). Currently, employees are scheduled based on work preference (i.e. late/early) and seniority. Start times could fluctuate on a daily basis and could include: nights, weekends & holidays. JOB SUMMARY
The Telecom Field Operations Technician is responsible for the maintenance (both reactive and preventive) of Southern Company's voice, data, and telecommunications transport network devices.
