The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in guaranteeing that the pipeline assets built by both our internal and external teams are the backbone of our Company's success, delivering safe and reliable gas service to millions of customers. This position at Southern Company Gas is essential for ensuring our pipeline assets are constructed with a focus on safety, quality, compliance, and efficiency.
Please note, this position is posted as a job family and can be filled at a Project Coordinator, I (Level 3), Project Coordinator, II (Level 4) or Project Coordinator, III (Level 5). Individuals who exhibit advanced proficiency through their work experience, education, and certifications may qualify for the higher grade.
Please be aware that this position can be based at any of our service centers.
As our Project Coordinator, a typical day might include:
Provides oversight of natural gas transmission and distribution infrastructure construction projects
Analyzes costs, benefits for specific construction projects, and evaluates alternatives to ensure cost effectiveness of construction projects.
Maintains customer satisfaction through timely and thorough communication with individual customers, municipalities, and other governmental agencies at pre-con meetings and throughout the project (such as state DOTs, counties, etc.)
Contributes to the achievement of a project's safety, quality, financial, and schedule goals

Intermediate knowledge of piping construction techniques, welding, fusion NDE, excavation, compaction, coating, inspection, pressure testing, pigging/cleaning; basic knowledge of tapping/stopping, purging, flow interruption
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
The Project Coordinator may be required to be on the job site during construction hours. Long workdays and weekend work may be required. Periods of night shift work may be required.
Standing and/or walking construction sites for long periods of time may be required.
Lifting objects up to 50lbs maybe required.
Driving a Company vehicle for long trips or commutes may be required.
Overnight travel may be required up to 50% of the time.
Working in all types of weather conditions may be required.
Climbing in and out of excavations, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders to inspect pipeline construction activity may be required.
Walking on changing elevation and/or uneven surfaces may be required.

Research Engineer
Reporting to the Advanced Nuclear Program Manager, the Research Engineer will coordinate projects related to the development, demonstration, and deployment of advanced nuclear reactor technologies, including technologies which implement molten salt as a working fluid. The Research Engineer will support the execution of programmatic activities and drive projects to completion. This work will include interaction and/or collaboration with Reactor Designers, National Labs, Universities, DOE, NRC, and Industry. The Research Engineer must be able to create, manage, and execute work scope definition across multiple organizations.
In this role the Research Engineer may also be responsible for influencing policy makers and early engagement with regulators. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in siting and environmental compliance for new reactors, supporting license applications for new nuclear plants or regulatory activities at an operating plant, and safety case development. Familiarity with recent progress in risk-informed and performance-based nuclear regulatory frameworks, including the Licensing Modernization Project, is valuable. Additionally, background in regulation related to risk-informed applications, physical security, emergency preparedness, nuclear plant O&M, nuclear Quality Assurance, or nuclear construction will be beneficial. The candidate must possess outstanding communication skills and be able to take initiative in executing project responsibilities.

Job Experience and Education Requirements :
BS degree in Chemistry or other field of science with a MINIMUM of 12 semester hours in Chemistry required.
This position requires call-out and overtime and works 10-hour shifts on a rotating day/weekend/evening schedule. Must be available for nights, overtime, weekends and holidays work as required.
Experience and competency in the use, calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation/equipment.
Knowledge of proper analytical methods and techniques.
Previous experience in large water treatment operation desired.

JOB SUMMARY:
The main responsibility of this position is to supervise a team of CAD drafting specialists supporting Distribution and Transmission design activities. This role provides leadership, training, and technical support with respect to CAD drafting work process and related software updates.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide drafting support services to Engineering Design, updating design templates, overseeing drafting activities for designers, processing DOT atlas map and redline requests, addressing software issues, upgrades and training related to AutoCAD software and tools.
Manage day-to-day activities of the drafting team, prioritizing and balancing workload, providing guidance and addressing issues to ensure timely and quality deliverables. Propose and develop changes to drafting process and related AutoCAD software to improve efficiency.
Communicate with DOT Liaison and Engineering Design leads to ensure the drafting team meet their drafting/redlining needs and expectations.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert on drafting projects, develops solutions for Nicor Gas drafting issues, and analyzes current business processes and recommends best practice solutions.
Develop performance goals and metrics and deliver performance feedback and reviews.
Ensure workflows with various internal departments are accurate, up to date and documented.
Assist the External Design group to get their external designers access to Southern Company Gas network (i.e. X2 account creation, access to SharePoint, PCTS, Globe GIS, MAXIMO, etc.)
Assist with the administrator functions for Nicor Engineering SharePoint site and related project tracking tools. Provides training to users on SharePoint. Works with business users, Technology Organization, and IT Application Support to resolve production issues and implement enhancements.

Digital Modernization Project Manager:
The Digital Modernization Program is a complex effort to upgrade and standardize the SNC fleet to a modern digital control infrastructure. With numerous projects being implemented across the fleet there will be a need for coordination between operations and alignment in our technical implementation.
Responsibilities:
Management and oversite of onsite resources and daily activities in support of successful scope development, implementation, and project closeout phases of digital projects at Vogtle (and other site projects as necessary), using the established Project procedures and measured by achieving required project performance in safety, quality, schedule, cost, scope, and risk.

This position supports all Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Software Integrated Loop Testing (SWIL), and Verification and Validation (V&V) required to support the various Digital Program Projects or obtains the appropriate technical expertise to support.

The Shoreline Land Management Specialist position's primary purpose is to protect and enhance Georgia Power's land and water assets as it relates to regulatory, environmental, aesthetic, and recreational requirements.

Key contact for lake residents, homeowner associations, and governmental agencies
Manage shoreline development through established permitting program ensuring compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license requirements and our Georgia Power's Shoreline Management Guidelines to allow lessees, adjacent landowners and commercial developers to access and use Company lands and waters
Meet shoreline residents, governmental agencies, and other key stakeholders on site for construction plan review, issue management, and guideline enforcement to ensure compliance with company guidelines and FERC requirements. Monitor company owned bulk property managed by the Oconee-Sinclair office for unauthorized activity

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
