Position Overview
We are searching for a Sales Operations professional with expertise in in both project management and process improvement. This individual will report directly into the Americas Sales Acceleration and Planning Leader. This role is specifically focused on the Fiscal Planning Process (which happens bi-annually at VMware). The role is responsible for the overall Planning Process as well as the sub-processes that support the Planning Process.
Specific responsibilities include
Mange the Fiscal Planning Process, including developing & managing deliverables and timelines across multiple functions & teams
Identify opportunities for process improvement and then work together with key stakeholders to implement changes to those processes
Responsible for documentation, communication, enablement & governance of processes within Fiscal Planning Process
Act as change agent, and process improvement subject matter expert, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees on process improvement methodologies and tools
Required Skills
Skills must consist of a blend of process improvement and project management that come together to allow you to think strategically and look for opportunities to continuously innovate and transform
Demonstrated experience in process improvement within Sales Operations. Experience leading a Business Planning or GTM Planning Process a plus.
Excellent communication, collaboration, problem solving, and time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Experience with Salesforce.com, Tableau or Business Objects and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
Minimum 7 years experience within Sales Operations
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

The VMware Global Account Program is responsible to serve approximately 100 of VMware's largest customers. These premier accounts are managed by a team of experienced Global Account Managers (GAM) with the objective to establish a significant VMWare footprint in the largest and most influential corporations worldwide. Our selling is focused on our customers primary business initiatives and connecting our value to our customers business value. Our Value Selling strategy is the investment of time, talent and technology from VMWare and our partners to invent (transform) our customers business for their benefit. This strategic objective is being accomplished using a highly focused and experienced account management, marketing, and engineering teams, as well as substantial executive level engagement.
The Global Account Manager will have principle responsibility for VMware sales to Apple within the VMware portfolio. The individual in this role will be responsible for overall account management including the creation and execution of the strategic account plan, goal obtainment and revenue growth. The GAM takes a consultative approach to selling and works toward a trusted advisor status serving as the executive contact across the customer on behalf of VMware, communicating VMware's unique value. Leads overall account strategy and matrix management of sales, specialist and partner resources to ensure value-added benefits and deeper/wider reach into the customer. The GAM is responsible for taking share from our competitors.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Sets the global account strategy that drives new VMware revenue through the ownership and implementation of an actionable, business-outcome based account plan
Oversees and implements business case & value selling strategies which align the customer's needs, up to the Board/C-Suite, to VMware solutions and services including the development of business cases with specific metrics & ROIs identified
Manages tactical business while investing in larger, longer term strategic opportunities

Act as change agent, and process improvement subject matter expert, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees on process improvement methodologies and tools

Demonstrated experience in process improvement within Sales Operations. Experience leading a Business Planning or GTM Planning Process a plus.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Drive an indirect sales organization across all routes to market to generate growth for both our strategic partners and the Americas sales organization. Key measurements will include bookings, transactions, solution mix, account acquisition, and deployment /consumption of advanced technologies.
Develop a strategy with sales, marketing, solution architects, professional services and inside sales across all segments for strategic partners in market along with all indirect channel business.

Accurate and timely forecasting and internal account updates and communications
Build and leverage an effective executive call strategy and communications cadence to drive top-down sponsorship that will result in an effective joint business plan amongst assigned Cloud Providers
Engage and leverage extended Teams within Solutions Engineering, Cloud Practice, Business Units, Sales Specialists, marketing and Sales Operations all to support the strategic and joint business plan/s
Ensure effective communications and engagement cadence amongst key stakeholders (internally and externally) for optimal account management and business/project velocity
Engage customer sales, pre-sales engineering and marketing Teams with consistent cadence to grow and convert pipeline opportunities (Sell Through)
Manage and drive customer technical support escalations effectively
Provide guidance to extended sales Team to drive effective Sell WITH synergies
Proper and effective escalation of critical Customer issues.
Work with and leverage VMware 'Aggregators' supporting the VMware Service Providers.
Leveraging of VMware legal and business leadership resources to negotiate contracts as needed.
Responsible for achieving/exceeding all assigned sales goals and MBO's.
Typically, up to 40% travel time is expected, however, due to the pandemic challenges, travel is expected within reason.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of solution and consultative sales experience in large accounts, preferably with cloud providers/MSPs. Telco experience a plus.
Proven ability to develop, grow and maintain eStaff relationships for top-down sponsorship and strategic alignment
Solid understanding of scope and experience in selling TO, THROUGH and WITH Partner Customers to develop a strategic alliance
Exhibits exceptional sales and business acumen, credibility, and presence to enable effective relationship building, influencing, and instilling confidence at all business levels
Proven success in exceeding quarterly and annual revenue and bookings goals
Ability to leverage a matrixed organization of extended resources to execute the strategic business plan synergistically
Excellent communication and presentation skills demonstrating executive presence
Knows how to leverage broad and diverse Teams
Ability to navigate through and solve for complex business problems
High comfort level with complex cloud technology, solutions and concepts

Accurate and timely forecasting and internal account updates and communications
Build and leverage an effective executive call strategy and communications cadence to drive top-down sponsorship that will result in an effective joint business plan amongst assigned Cloud Providers
Engage and leverage extended Teams within Solutions Engineering, Cloud Practice, Business Units, Sales Specialists, marketing and Sales Operations all to support the strategic and joint business plan/s
Ensure effective communications and engagement cadence amongst key stakeholders (internally and externally) for optimal account management and business/project velocity
Engage customer sales, pre-sales engineering and marketing Teams with consistent cadence to grow and convert pipeline opportunities (Sell Through)
Manage and drive customer technical support escalations effectively
Provide guidance to extended sales Team to drive effective Sell WITH synergies
Proper and effective escalation of critical Customer issues.
Work with and leverage VMware 'Aggregators' supporting the VMware Service Providers.
Leveraging of VMware legal and business leadership resources to negotiate contracts as needed.
Responsible for achieving/exceeding all assigned sales goals and MBO's.
Typically, up to 40% travel time is expected, however, due to the pandemic challenges, travel is expected within reason.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of solution and consultative sales experience in large accounts, preferably with cloud providers/MSPs. Telco experience a plus.
Proven ability to develop, grow and maintain eStaff relationships for top-down sponsorship and strategic alignment
Solid understanding of scope and experience in selling TO, THROUGH and WITH Partner Customers to develop a strategic alliance
Exhibits exceptional sales and business acumen, credibility, and presence to enable effective relationship building, influencing, and instilling confidence at all business levels
Proven success in exceeding quarterly and annual revenue and bookings goals
Ability to leverage a matrixed organization of extended resources to execute the strategic business plan synergistically
Excellent communication and presentation skills demonstrating executive presence
Knows how to leverage broad and diverse Teams
Ability to navigate through and solve for complex business problems
High comfort level with complex cloud technology, solutions and concepts
High levels of energy, drive and commitment, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experiences with Managed Service Providers, Professional Services a plus.
Strong business acumen and financial modeling experience.
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
Deep understanding of Cloud Computing and all the XaaS offerings in market
Proficiency in data analysis with tools like Excel, Tableau and others.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Gaining the required knowledge on the Atlassian infrastructure, processes, framework, team and stakeholders... Completing the required Knowledge transfer/transition activities and starting to contribute on day to day tickets and long pole efforts as the team needs per the priority defined by the management.
As an Atlassian Administrator in first 120 days yow will be performing day to operations like creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboard, and reports configuration on Atlassian products upgrade like Confluence, JSD and Jira applications. Within nine months you will be upgrading the applications, doing the performance tuning. For customer facing application you will make sure that availability should be as close as possible to 100%.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
You will be spending your time doing the following activities
Install, manage and administer Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions.
Understand and Configure integrations with 3rd party applications and internal tools as necessary.
Conduct training for employees and new hires on JIRA and Confluence regarding how to use the tools, new functionality, etc.
Perform Migrations of Projects in Jira and Migrations of spaces in Confluence
Create, maintain and support dashboards and advanced filters for end users reporting capabilities.
Provide User Management and grant user permissions in accordance with role given by the company.
Create and maintain detailed technical and user facing documentation.
Resolve issues as they arise with JIRA Projects and Confluence in coordination with other admins, partner teams, Atlassian premier support and TAMs.
Proficient in understanding and adapting JQL
Basic programming knowledge with an understanding of Java, Python or any scripting technologies
Proficient in Project Setups, Components, JIRA Reporting, Report Filters and Dashboard creation

The Middleware Administrator role will report to the Senior Manager - Application Operations (Ramanathan Meyyappan).
