This opportunity entails being responsible for completion of various utility coordination tasks to achieve necessary project utility clearances for highway infrastructure projects. Major elements of work include developing and maintaining utility base mapping, project plan reviews, utility conflict resolution meeting assistance, meeting material preparation, correspondence tracking, and communicating progress effectively. Effective communication with all parties involved in highway infrastructure projects to report utility coordination progress and risks is imperative in this role. Will need to deliver quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project.

What You'll Do:

  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.

  • Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.

  • Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.

  • Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.

  • Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work

  • Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with the Project Team, Stakeholders, Clients, and Utility Companies to drive success of projects

  • Ability to identify utility conflicts within proposed highway infrastructure projects, assisting with conflict resolution planning, and monitoring resolution progress

  • Effective communication with Project Managers, Risk Managers, and Schedulers regularly to report utility coordination status and report risks to project scope, schedule, and budget

What We Prefer:

  • Master's degree in Engineering

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification

  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD

  • 4 years relevant utility experience on projects for Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), other state DOTs, Local Agencies, or utility companies

This opportunity entails being responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. This position is a lead role to direct, mentor and train junior staff. Consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity. Leverages technical knowledge and experience to address design related issues or concerns, working closely with the project manager through creative problem solving, interactions with clients and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project completion using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.

  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.

  • Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within a discipline.

  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.

  • Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.

  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

  • Provides input on recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including developing a plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.

  • Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards.

  • Aids in establishing employees' objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or

This opportunity entails providing guidance to the project management team to ensure appropriate delivery of contractual business obligations in the areas of Contracting, Cash Management, Subcontract Management, Change Management, Cost Management and Financial Controls.

Average HNTB annual revenue for project specific oversight ranges from $20MM to $50MM and may consist of one or more projects with various Client profiles. Through implementation of best business practices in alignment with firm's policies and standards of performance, this role will provide critical financial leadership and project controls oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

  • Directs and participates in the development and initial build of project fee proposals, financial burn/revenue analysis, project labor forecasts, cash flow forecasts. Assists, coordinates and/or has oversight of development of project schedule and coordinates preparation and analysis of schedule baseline, progress schedule reporting, specialty schedules, schedule analysis, EVM, that tie to the HNTB PM System, and other compliance related requirements. Identifies trends and deviations and recommends solutions or recovery plans for multiple financial scenarios related to project performance.

  • Coordinates project specific month-end reporting and revenue recognition activities. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the project financial data that results in accurate reporting and projecting of project performance with compliance to internal and external governance requirements (HNTB policies and procedures, client requirements, industry standard accounting requirements and government requirements). Provides oversight and guidance (reviewing for accuracy/clarity) to the project and office business teams through the preparation of financial, cost control, schedule material for internal and external meetings. This includes providing appropriate financial documentation, data analysis, and reports to assist in the project management and dissemination of information/reports/deliverables to key stakeholders.

  • Responsible for hiring, supervising, managing, training and mentoring of project finance staff. Responsible for assignment of tasks and duties and for first-level review of deliverables. Responsible for all aspects of Career Planning & Development process, including goal setting, coaching, and performance evaluation. May provide ad-hoc training to project team members.

  • Creates, coordinates, edits and publishes guidelines, manuals, and document SOPs with the project's finance staff for use by project staff to support the Project Management Plan, (items may include, Cost Management Plan, Change Management Plan, Project Review Action Plans, Project Financial Workplan, Risk Management Plan, Document Control Plan and Cash Management Plan). May assist/oversee Document Control efforts for financial/contractual documents between HNTB ProjectWise and SharePoint systems.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations on procurement and contract documents, prepare draft contract documents in coordination with Contracting & Claims as applicable with focus on compensation term reviews and makes recommendations that maximize our cash performance and gross margin. Establishes report with client-counterpart to understand client payment process, influence timely processing of invoices, and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Assists with subconsultant management (invoice review/approval processes, progress/EVM reporting, contract review, payment/appropriate PWP association, proactive closeout, and reconciliations).

  • Assists with the project's financial communication including but not limited to the Monthly Project Review Meetings, Senior Management Review Meetings, other project meetings as required.

  • Leads financial and contractual portions of project close out activities which include financial portion of claims process and resolution, sub contract close outs, and contractual financial close out procedures as applicable.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction or relevant degree

  • 7 years financial experience in Engineering, Architecture, and Contractor project financial controls

  • Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.

  • Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects. Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master's degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or

  • PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Completion of structural design and associated deliverables to construct or repair transportation infrastructure. Duties will include structural analysis, design, originating calculations, checking calculations, and producing plans and specifications.

  • Role will include leading projects or being a task assignee leading a portions of a design.

  • This role will require mentoring younger staff

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in Engineering

  • 10 years of relevant experience

  • Professional Engineer (OE) or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) depending on discipline

The successful candidate will refine, develop, and continuously improve the tools and resources needed to drive consistency and improve the effectiveness of firm-wide client service leaders and teams. Collaborating with other national functions and line leaders, the National Client Service Director will promote a growth mindset that leads to new sales with HNTB clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Drives consistency and effectiveness of firmwide client service leaders (CSLs) and teams (CSTs), including supporting effective implementation of HNTB's Super Client Program

  • Establishes and maintains an online resource center to elevate firmwide best practices in client service and provide examples and templates

  • Develops tools and materials to support consistency in HNTB's approach to client service and client mapping, including refining and leveraging existing guidebooks and materials

  • Develops client service success measures and promotes their use within the line organization to assess CSL effectiveness

  • Leverages, existing CSL training materials and develops new approaches as needed to strengthen CSL skillsets and support the line organization in coordination with the HNTB Learning and Development team.

  • Strengthens and continuously improves internal processes and materials to align with HNTB's vocabulary and culture related to client service and growth in coordination with HNTB's National Sales Organization (NSO)

  • Guides and supports the strategic planning process in partnership with division leadership, and drives consistency in the firm's approach to client strategic plans

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree and 15 years of relevant experience.
