Performs a variety of routine and some semi-routine project finance activities in accordance with standard procedures in project accounting and project controls to support Project Analysts in financial aspects of projects; including, but not limited to contracting, work planning, and delivery of projects. This level of position is utilized on larger/complex projects or offices.

Providing Project Managers and Project Finance team with project support; including quotations, contracts, and work orders; updating accounting system with budget changes; creating, updating, and distributing Excel workbooks and project reports.

Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with Quotation planning thru HNTB PM system set up activities, including cost codes and other general project information in alignment with contract requirements using standard accounting codes and procedures. May transfer quotations into client templates and QC final review of sales price.
Transfers quotations into project budgets and assists with routine maintenance of project budgets in project accounting system, including but not limited to project/task status updates, project contract information, project assignee adjustments, and fee adjustments.
Performs baseline and periodic updates to gross margin calculations with information provided by the project team. Provide system generated or system based financial information related to project and client profitability, payment histories, sales amounts, and other project accounting data as needed.
Codes project costs, such items may include subconsultant costs, expense report receipts, vendor invoices etc., with appropriate project accounting codes conforming to standard procedures and contractual requirements to ensure proper entry into HNTB's financial system.
Prepares or updates billing notes based on feedback from the project team. As appropriate, provides an additional math check and back up information confirmation related to the billing (accounts receivable) portion of the monthly invoice preparation process.
May be responsible for or assist less experienced staff with reporting and information processing; payables, cost corrections, billing notes, invoice mapping, etc.
Provides various financial reporting to various project owners on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as established with project teams. Performs routine adjustments/improvements to those (mostly Excel) based reports on an as requested basis.
Performs labor corrections and accounts payable adjustments as identified by the local offices or the Enterprise Operations Cash Management group.
Assists with monthly (or as needed) DBE and subconsultant reporting, other contractual reporting, insurance certificates, project filings, etc.
Generates, stores, distributes, files, maintains, and updates ad hoc project accounting reports, documents, etc.

Responsibilities:
Within the Geotechnical Engineering specialty, learn and complete specific geotechnical design analyses under general supervision. Design elements include deep foundations, earth retaining systems, ground improvement procedures, embankments and cut slopes, levees and dams.
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans
Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers
Complete geotechnical analyses, report preparation, and design efforts with minimal direction and that are responsive to project needs including design criteria, quality, schedule and budget requirements
Develop subsurface exploration and laboratory testing programs
Coordinate with subconsultants including oversight of subconsultant's budget, deliverables, and schedule
Review geotechnical laboratory data and subconsultant deliverables for conformance with applicable testing and project standards
Correlate and interpret field and laboratory results for use in analyses
Provide geotechnical analysis, design and reports for shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining systems, ground improvement procedures, embankments and cut slopes, levees and dams
Develop or review specifications and plan notes related to geotechnical design elements (e.g. earthwork and foundations)
Provide support for design review and adhere to project quality management plan
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Perform construction observation of earthwork, foundation installation, wall construction and pavement construction

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Working knowledge of Microstation, Geopak SS10 and/or ORD software

Demonstrated ability to apply AASHTO and state DOT design guidelines, policies, and practices to address complex design challenges
