Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina - has a Material Tester opening located in Cayce, South Carolina. This position performs testing and inventory functions for rubber goods and performing oil spill response functions. Performs routine tests on rubber goods and maintaining inventory levels and shipping schedules to supply operations and support associates with rubber gloves, blankets, line hose, and/or mechanical jumpers. Performs routine tests to determine materials electrical or mechanical integrity, compliance with national, manufacturers and company standards.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Operates various equipment including but not limited to: voltage withstanding testing, environmental test, high voltage and high current test, electrical, mechanical, and analytical, electronic identification, etc.

  • Loads and unloads material and equipment from company and vendor trucks. Generates reports.

  • Repair mechanical jumpers and retrofit transponders.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • 0-2 years related experience.

  • Must be able to operate a forklift,

  • Must be able to operate voltage equipment (such as: electrical and mechanical test and analytical equipment, etc.).

  • Must be able to work during normal working hours, scheduled and unscheduled overtime and during emergencies.

  • Must have computer knowledge and skills to operate testing equipment and reporting.

  • Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, standing, sitting, push/pull with upper body, handling hand tools, reaching above and below center of mass, lifting 50lbs+, exposure to noise, moving machinery, extreme outdoor environment conditions, and occasional exposure to fuel and associated equipment generated fumes.

  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) is looking for an Engineer I, II, or III to join our team. There is one position which will be at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. (Work location Charleston or Cayce, Hybrid)

This position will be responsible for working with large industrial and commercial electric customers throughout the Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) electric service territory. The successful candidate will work with customers and colleagues in the DESC distribution, transmission, and generation business units to identify and solve power quality related problems that may result from equipment power system compatibility challenges, renewable energy integration and inverter-based resources, battery energy storage systems and microgrids. This position will also provide technical support to the DESC renewable energy interconnection team. Candidates will possess or be expected to develop the necessary hands-on technical skills required to safely perform field work. Successful candidate will also be required to develop a proficiency in the analysis of field data, single-line electrical drawings, industrial and commercial power and control systems, electric power energy systems. Position requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis..

December 2024 and May 2025 graduates can be considered for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Engineer I

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is currently seeking a Supervisor - Nuclear Engineering in the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Project organization at Surry Power Station in Surry, VA

This position will report to the Manager - Nuclear Projects SLR. The assigned area of responsibility will be managed to ensure compliance with legal requirements, and in accordance with established company policies and procedures. The selected candidate will provide leadership and direction to the Electrical/Digital Engineering group that will support extending the operating life of Surry Power Station for safe, cost effective and efficient nuclear power station operations. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Coordinate all technical design aspects for all Electrical/Digital Engineering disciplines of SLR projects requiring site and/or corporate support and selected Engineering firms and equipment vendors

- Coordinate quality Owner's acceptance reviews (Engineering Changes, Procurement Specs and studies) with vendors and/or corporate/station resources

- Department Corrective Action Coordinator (DCAC) and Performance Improvement (i.e. Department Self Evaluation Meetings and Training Review Board) representative

- Direct Supervision for the Electrical/Digital engineers for work quality and performance management

- Own the SLR Projects Electrical/Digital engineer list and support Long Range Planning (LRP) integration

- Facilitate the hiring of Electrical/Digital engineers for the SLR team (Dominion direct and contract engineers)

- Attend the LRP / PHWG / PHSC meetings

- Support PMs with coordination of projects into outages or on-line with LRP

The successful candidate may be required to be a member of the Emergency Response Organization. In addition to leadership of the selected work group, the successful candidate will perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Job Summary

The GIS Development and Data Analyst is responsible for the direct development of GIS-related software applications and for providing complex analytics on modeled GIS data.   • Front level response for emergency or high priority programming or data forensic analysis

Job Summary

This position supports Power Generation - Generation Station Projects management team, estimating capital projects from conception to completion and sometimes managing capital projects. - Provides estimates for utility construction projects between $500K - $200M (Capital improvement projects, new construction, outage projects, O&M projects, and Asset Retirement Obligation projects).

- Provides original or revised project estimates in support of the annual Capital Budget development process, typically involving up to five hundred estimates.

- Provides estimate support during state or federal regulatory reviews including a review of all estimates supporting the latest approved Capital Budget.

- Estimating with timely roll-out and execution of the entire estimate deliverable process.

- Assesses and accounts for project financial (estimation) risk through collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.

- Identifying and estimating labor, materials, equipment, services, and other costs for projects.

- May manage selected projects including major capital improvement projects, demolition, outage support, etc.

- Oversees site safety, environmental, and construction requirements in accordance with Dominion Energy policy and local/state regulations.

- Ensures all elements of the Contractor Safety Program are met and monitors safety on their projects.

- Ensures appropriate permits are obtained; ensures contractor compliance with site, environmental guidelines and obtains advance approval from the site Environmental Compliance Coordinator for materials and chemicals (i.e., concrete, oil, cleaner, lubricant, etc.) prior to allowing material on site.

- Accountable for project success, customer satisfaction, and technical project execution and delivery.

- Manages project risk through collaboration with the project team and customer(s).

- Oversees scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and procurement activities for assigned projects, including integration with non-project work during major outages.

- Ensures all required construction permits are utilized including but not limited to: Digging/Drilling/Cutting (DDC); Welding/Flame; Line Break; Confined Space; Rigging/Lifting.

- Coordinates engineering resources by working proactively with Power Generation Engineering Supervision and contract external engineering, as necessary to complete projects in a technically responsible fashion.

- Ensures that a comprehensive, current scope of work and division of responsibility are maintained to include all vendor and Dominion scopes.

- Supports the development, implementation, and management of contracts with suppliers and contractors to support material procurement and resources for project development and implementation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 7-8+ years of industry experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and/or management with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in project management.

  • Demonstrated experience with major power plants and equipment including boilers, turbines, transformers, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, electrical/instrumentation, operations, and other balance-of-plant systems.

  • Must have the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously over a large geographic territory, and handle stakeholder teams representing different departments and interests.

  • Must be able to review and understand project scopes.

  • Must understand the project life cycle and costs that come from project supporting activities.

  • Must have good technical, cost estimation and cost management skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating project work for O&M and Capital classification.

Provides timely and accurate data for continual Service Reliability improvements.

  • Develop specifications and perform calculations to support substation structure designs (wind loading, etc.)

  • Support the structural design parameters for electrical connections and conductors (bus pipe, wire, etc.)

  • Develop steel fabrication requirements and develop healthy vendor relationships with fabricators & suppliers

Dominion's Mt. Storm Power Plant (located in WV) is seeking a highly motivated Operator Trainee. Job Summary

The successful candidate will be exposed to the many facets of construction, operation, and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System. More specifically, the successful candidate will develop skills to prepare themselves for potential advancement in Line-work, Substation, Design or Dispatch areas. As an Electric Ground Worker, much of the work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions and is considered "heavy labor". Must be willing and able to work up to 300 hundred hours a year in overtime. Ability to respond within one hour of a call for overtime strongly preferred.   • Providing tools, materials and supplies to journeyman line worker

Job Summary

The Drafting Group is responsible for producing drawings and data that clearly depict the physical transmission and distribution substation infrastructure, as well as the engineering parameters that support their design. This is a support role that operates under limited supervision. This position will use AutoCAD to develop structural and electrical drawings needed to build electric substations.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency with a computer and associated drafting software, such as Windows and AutoCAD, as well as the use of electronic drafting tools. The candidate must also be able to collaborate with varied disciplines both internally and externally as well as operate within the company's team environment. This requires working closely with designers and other draftspersons to produce engineering drawings. The ability to produce drawings from designer notes and sketches is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Dominion is currently seeking an Intern Draftsman for the Substation Standards Department (Transmission Operations Center - Cayce, SC). The Intern Draftsman will work with personnel in the Substation Engineering Department. Substation Engineering Department is comprised of engineers, technicians, and drafting personnel engaged in the engineering and design of electric substations.

This position produces drawings and data that clearly and accurately depict the physical transmission and distribution substation infrastructure, as well as the engineering parameters that support their design. This position is responsible for providing drafting services that support engineering and design requirements. Drafting services include preparation of detailed system, equipment or component drawings; as-built drawings; electronic drawing and document control; and drawing revisions. This position requires use of manual and electronic drafting tools. Drafting personnel must be proficient with a computer and associated software, such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Windows and Excel.

Education Requirements

  1. Must have (or working to obtain) a certificate in AutoCAD with successful completion of at least 2 AutoCAD courses.

OR

  1. Must be a second year associate degree student in a technical field with an emphasis on computer aided design applications such as AutoCAD graduating in Spring or Fall 2025.

Test Description

  • 1-hour skills assessment at the Dominion Energy South Carolina Transmission Operation Center in Cayce, SC. Candidates will be tested on the required skills listed in the Top Skills needed and Job Description.
