Job Summary:

PowerSecure is seeking qualified candidates for exciting new projects throughout the US. Core competencies for the Mechanical Field Supervisor include the ability to oversee Mechanical Project Installations including Piping Replacements, Chillers, Boilers, Air Handlers, Pumps, VAV Boxes etc. by managing internal installers or technicians and subcontractors. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School, GED Equivalent and/or Trade School.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • Minimum of 15 years in the pipefitting/mechanical trade and a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience with various types of pipe and fitment techniques, including screw pipe, grooved, compression, fusion, glue, sweat, braze and weld, of various materials including steel, copper, plastic, fiberglass etc, with diameters ranging from - to 12- or greater.

  • Experience with sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation.

  • Experience with electrical and controls installation (not required, but a plus).

  • Must be able to pass a government background check, drug test and other site pre-access requirements.

  • OSHA 30 training (not required, but a plus).

  • Position requires a willingness to travel to project locations when assigned to work on projects that require onsite presence for extended project durations.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of pipefitting/mechanical skills within the commercial, institutional and/or industrial HVAC industry.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications and equipment submittals.

  • Ability to take off, measure and order materials as needed for a complete project installation.

  • Must have a working knowledge of software programs including Procore, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of general project accounting.

  • Ability to be a safety leader to ensure site safety standards are met and all personnel perform project and job duties safely.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position is a Supervisory role and requires the Mechanical Field Supervisor to manage and supervise a crew of up to 8 HVAC Installers, Laborers, and Subcontractor personnel to effectively execute and complete contracted project scope safely and proficiently.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate installation schedule with project manager, customer, and subcontractors.

  • Collaborate with project manager to produce weekly and monthly look ahead schedules to ensure material, equipment and manpower needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of work.

  • Create, utilize, and distribute Daily Reports to document project work.

  • Complete daily job safety briefings for site personnel at the beginning of each shift. This daily function also includes delegation of responsibilities to supervised staff.

  • Develop pipefitters, sheet metalworkers, HVAC technicians and apprentices in work-related areas to enhance work knowledge, productivity, and safety.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.

  • Maintain safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures; enforce compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdiction requirements.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be physically capable of walking, climbing, kneeling, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and talking.

Workers can be subjected to possible bodily injury from pipe fitting equipment, tools, materials, etc. Work environment may include exposure to weather, extreme heat (including humidity) or cold, noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working at heights, and working around explosives.

Summary of Position Duties

Education

Purpose: This position supports the Southern Company Specialized Cyber Security information security program to ensure the company's information assets are adequately protected. The successful applicant will collaborate with Generation, Transmission, and PowerSecure utility and commercial business units to define and implement business security requirements and goals, and to identify and resolve business security issues. The position also supports information security compliance programs in response to regulations such as NERC, FERC, FACTA, PCI, as well as other state, local, and federal security requirements.

Education / Experience:

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of information security methodologies, tools, technologies, and best practices and how they relate to the organization

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in a systematic and logical manner, and maintain good communications with all relevant parties throughout troubleshooting process

  • Strong experience in Firewall Technologies, including hands-on experience in providing firewall support, installation, and analysis of infrastructure communication.

  • 3 years' experience in positions directly related to cyber security assessment, information security, information technology, and/or consulting expertise

  • Hands on experience with the following firewall and switch solutions:

  • Cisco ASA (IOS), Cisco FMC/FirePower (FXOS),

  • Palo Alto

  • Cisco Switches (DNA)

  • Firewall technologies (site-to-site VPN, NAT, Threat prevention & URL filtering)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Researching, installation, configuring, and support network and firewall infrastructure within the lab setup before deploying to production environments

  • Develop requirements for firewall rule implementation including source and destination IPs, Ports, Transport Protocol

  • Works with an experienced team of network engineers in performing vulnerability and fault analysis on enterprise level devices, and developing and implementing system remediation and recovery plans

  • Identifying root cause of issues and making appropriate recommendation to avoid future failure

  • Experience creating network diagrams utilizing Microsoft Visio

  • Experience with development and maintenance of high-level and low-level design documentation

  • Supports Operational Technology (OT) and the enterprise in all aspects of information security administration; trusted to handle confidential situations and data; conducts investigations and analysis as directed

  • Engages with TO and business units to evaluate and implement security process for critical infrastructure and key resources

  • Provides governance and oversight to business unit security activities to ensure compliance with all corporate information security policies and procedures

  • Establishes and executes program updates as necessary to adapt to the changing threat landscape as well as local, state, and federal security requirements

Plant Cleveland, a power generation facility located in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Operations Technician. The selected candidate will be responsible for operation and maintenance of a simple cycle dual fuel combustion turbine facility. This person will need to possess mechanical, electrical, operational and instrumentation skills with a strong concentration in at least one of these fields. Additional skills include the ability to troubleshoot plant control and electrical systems and maintain plant maintenance records in a computer based work order system (Maximo). This multi-craft role is involved in daily decision making and system ownership for Plant Cleveland and the Southern Power fleet.

Job Experience

  • Minimum of five years experience in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation and controls for power plants preferred.

  • Additional experience with Emerson Ovation control systems and operation of Siemens F class gas turbines is desired.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems.

  • Detailed knowledge of plant control and data acquisition systems desired.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills necessary to determine current / future operating conditions and trends for optimizing plant performance.

  3. Provides fuel/rate analysis, inputs to the cost of service study and other data necessary to maintain internal and external Company rate and regulatory records.

  4. Develops a working knowledge of other functional areas such as system planning, accounting and energy sales & efficiency to achieve thorough understanding of the total pricing function.

  5. Ensures that the provisions of all rates are applied in a manner consistent with Company policy.

Reader, Meter - Automated

Description

Records gas consumption data from residential, industrial, and commercial customers using electronic remote reading device mounted in company vehicle; reports data for Marketers to use for customer billing. Performs installations and programming of ERTs. Performs basic tasks including using hand tools, corrosion inspections, meter paints, reading meters (manually and electronically). This is a bargaining unit position (IBEW Local 1997).

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Downloads meter reading route(s) daily; enters route information into electronic data collection units in vehicle; drives route and collects data from Encoder Receiver Transmitter (ERTs) mounted on customers' meters; uploads data at end of the route.

  • Maintains and regularly updates electronic equipment (handhelds, Mobile Collectors, and etc.) to ensure accurate readings.

  • Troubleshoots ERT problems and Missed Meters: inspects, reprograms, repairs, maintains, removes, reinstalls ERTs and indexes.Enters change data into Meter History System (MHS), and Georgia Customer Management Application (GCMA).

  • Efficiently works work-order route to complete orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.

  • Conducts investigations of high bill complaints, stop meters, and special reading by meter reading validation.

  • Performs regular meter inspections and paints

  • Ensures truck is stocked with equipment, supplies, tools, and other equipment in a neat and orderly condition.

  • Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.

  • Safely operations company assigned vehicles in performance of assignments.

  • Occasional face-to-face interaction with customers via phone to obtain information and answer questions.

  • Identifies problems concerning customers assigned to wrong route, converts non-ERT meters to ERT system, updates systems and corrects problems.

  • Perform other duties and assigned on occasion

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Basic knowledge and use of hand tools and equipment

  • State driver's license

  • Company driving test

West Physical Security Operation Center (PSOC) Security Officer:

This position ensures security of APC Corporate Headquarters, associated facilities, critical systems, equipment, operations, and persons. Operate multiple electronic security systems. Enforce company policies and criminal laws. Control access to company property, respond to requests for security services and alarms, coordinate the activities of public safety, medical, and other personnel during emergency situations. Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Conduct preliminary investigation of security violations and prepare detailed reports. Assess current physical security, security systems, policies, post orders, and make recommendations for enhancements.
